Decathlon Stilus upgrades

Hi

I have started having issues with chain dropping off front ring, I replaced front ring with E13 narrow wide 34 tooth, all ok for first 350 miles, but ever since on fast downhills chains drops every time if ground is rough uneven. There goes all my KOM attempts lol. Does anyone else have this issue, i think it may be the E13 chain ring, as derailleur as just been changed again now on Shimano SLX and chain is new also and still it drops the chain. Is there any chain device that can be fitted?? I tried the old fashioned DIY chain device fitted to chain stay and it made no difference at all.

I would first, try to shorten chain and test it. My chain never dropped, even on rough terrain downhills.

Did anyone fit alternative brake pads to the SRAM guide RE brakes?
Yup. Uberbike.
Sintered or semi metallic have both worked extremely well for me. 125 kg bike and rider.

finally mulletted. Got a ghetto stem with horrendous bearings at the mo. See pic of lower bearings, tried to refresh , but they fecked. Nukeproof stem , fox rhythm 36 fork, hope fortus 30 front wheel. Reach feels very different , less height due to slightly too short steerer tube, front end so much lighter. May have try higher raised bars .

Update
Just been informed that all bosch gen 4 motors have a bolt mounting to fit a chain device just situated behind chainring. Happy days..

Chain device fitted bolts straight into bolts on drive side of motor they are already threaded isg mounts bolts. i had to use 4 washers to get correct spacing. Not dropped a chain since install.

Does it make sense to upgrade RS 35 to Pike? The main difference is damper: Motion Control vs Charger 2. I hope that Charger will make such trails feel smoother. I can get Pike on a sale for half a price.

IMO yes it is a good upgrade choice I upgraded to Lyriks 170 - 29 and made a mullet, it is completely different handling bike now with more ground clearance also..Even without changing fork lenth or wheel size the damper upgrade alone will make a differance. Have a look on Stiplus upgrades page on this forum there are loads of upgraded stilus .

Thanks for the opinion. I've already ordered Lyrik 170 also. Can't wait to see what difference it makes.

I'm looking for a kickstand for my Stilus - my wife's Giant Liv has the standard euro mount with a Pletscher stand and it's brilliant. But Decathlon didn't spec it, and as it's a FS with pivot between chain & seat stays the nicer Pletscher or orhter brands with a two-location clamp don't work. Has anyone found a clamp-on one that is both strong enough and has clearance for the fat chainstay?

just fitted the below Tyre insert into back wheel , it was a tight fit but went on eventually.. got x 2 of the foam inserts and 2 tubeless valves from planet x for £9.99. Have not ridden it yet to give update on performance..

Get a crud XL. Solves the problem outright. Bike every week and through winter, 1700 mile and latch still sweet. BTW, living in the Welsh Valleys, you cannot go anywhere without going across an old coal tip or river/muddy Lane. You won't regret the 23 quid.
Can't for the life of me find one of these - anyone got a lead?

My Mrs bike hopefully arrives today - any recommendations for tyres please? She'll be staying on 27.5 wheels. Riding in Uk mostly XC with the odd trip to FOD to ride blue trails initially. I can only find michelin e-wilds in 2.8.

Maxxis Minion DHR/F in the ext+ casing. 2.8 fits fine. Wiggle is your friend.

the e-wilds will be awful for XC. They’re very draggy. Suggest an allrounder like the Minions or Hans Dampf. Probably don’t need to go above 2.6 in my view

Finally got a stylus v2 hear there is a software update how do I get this ? Cheers must have very happy with the bike still a gd work out 🚵‍♂️💨💨💨
