I was on hols in Tenerife last week (nice!) I came across a bike hire place in Los Christianos that had a load of emtbs and mtbs.
Except it wasn't bike hire it was guided rides/tours. It looked like a professional operation. The emtbs were Levos.

Anyway, in I went and asked the usual questions. The guy steered me towards the "Tour of Masca Valley and lush Laurisilva forest". I had a quick look at the pictures as he scrolled through their website and thought it looked tame - too much tarmac. I asked about the "MTB adventure from Teide national park to the sea". That looked more like it! I wasn't in a position to go on one and he was clearing up after the last guided ride, so I left him to it, just took the website details.

Outdoor adventures in Tenerife

I had a look just now and they have an age limit of 14 -65 - "for insurance reasons"!!!! FFS! What a disappointment. :(

I'm turning 80 this year. I just came back from the Dominican Republic where I rented an e-bike. I was with two much younger friends. The rental shop said I was the oldest mountain bike rider that they have rented to. We went with a guide and he took us on a variety of trails, some very technical. By the way, I've been mountain biking for over 50 years and e-biking on my Turbo Levo for three years.

Wow, 80 years of age, I’m not going to sound patronising but absolute respect to you 😎

Even basic holiday travel insurance is limited if over 65. Like crystal ski , expedia to name a couple they won't look at you.

In your Orange 'Tango' suit, I won't even look at you! 🍊😂
Been round the world that suit. Saved me a lot of soakings . Remember folk laughing in Nigeria till it started 🌧 raining. Had to sleep with it on or it would have gone walkies.

Respect! My plan is to be still riding my emtb when I'm 90; only 18 years and 4 months to go! Great, what a thing to look forward to, more than 18 years on an emtb - they might be hoverbikes by then!

I'd rather go out in a crash than in my sleep in a chair dreaming about "the good old days". :)

@ 83 I cant find a travel insurance co that will cover me for even a gentle "mount Etna" escorted ride...
Anybody found a travel insurance Co that will??????

I thought BMC but after a quick shifty . Don't do cycle touring or mountain biking . But ok for rock climbing work that one out. Nightmare once over 65 even basic travel some won't look at you. Good luck.
