You jest, but where I live in the Canaries, you fall foul of the law unless , as a motorist, you give bikes a 2m gap.
All fair enough, but the Lycra Lot, who invade the island at certain times, squeeze past you in slow moving traffic on any side almost scraping your bodywork !!
That and disregarding stop and give way signs, one way streets, riding one footpaths at high speed and riding in big groups on the main roafs etc, etc, makes them generally detested !
Us MTB lot however, are treated in the same way as we treat motorists and pedestrians !
With general respect :)

Funny innit ! We both ride with pedals, handlebars and two wheels, yet the differences are absolute !!
I also dislike them intensely !
I have learned so much from them however.
The things I have learned are the things I should absolutey NOT do :)

Best thing about the 20mph limit is.....
It doesn't apply to cyclists no matter what they are riding .😜

most people ignore limits anyway, some drive @ 20mph, some @ 30mph and a fair few @25mph (splitting the difference?)

some local roads have 20mph signs @ one end and 30mph@ the other - adds to the thrill of driving:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

wont be long before the tax collection speed camera's are rolled out to play:mad:
