Crestline RS 181.2 thread – builds, reviews, technical info

Soooo, the crestline has the DP100? 4g and higher usb charge rate.
I’m a fan of powering light-use accessories like droppers and derailleurs with the bike’s battery, but I don’t think I’d ever be drawing anything beyond the base display’s USB-C capability. I’d likely never use the port at all!

Any recommendations on where to ride in ATL? I fly out every few months for work to ATL from CHI and would be willing to drive down with my bike for some good riding.
Blankets, Allatoona, Mulberry Gap, Cochran Mill, Dauset, standing Boy(Columba’s,GA) Coldwater mtn(Anniston AL) Jarod’s place.

Reminder to all to remove the rebound knob from vivid airs (and coil maybe?) if you're running ST flip chip position. Will definitely contact the shock tunnel when suspension cycles thru travel. Ask me how I know...
What travel are you running your fork at?

Did first ride. This thing rips. Compared to my Amflow it’s really wants go fast… while super nimble with a 440 cs, my Amflow is 445cs. I’m rh-2 600wh, 48lbs.

Intend Flash is crazy good. My Fox 36 Factory on Amflow is pretty decent but Flash takes it to another level. How can a fork be super plush and supportive the same time?! I don’t feel the added weight I think because my Amflow has a heavier 800wh battery and front heavy anyway.

The motor! I thought my Amflow is rattle free until today lol . This m2 is dead silent down hill. Now I feel my hub is too loud.

I can’t speak to rear suspension much as I was in a rush didn’t setup the shock properly just pump the air and go with all default settings. Intend Rover on the way…

Last but not least, if anyone in the US would like to trade your 150mm Axs to my 175mm let me know, mine is a bit long for my short legs lol

Did the chain ring come with the bike? Does it not have 8mm printed on the chain ring?

e13 offer an Avinox version that is '8mm offset for 55mm chainline' as stated on their site. - Helix Race e*spec Chainring

It's a solid weight even though you do have trail tires/ wheels.

Maybe drop the Outlier pedals in the meantime so that you can make do with your current 175mm AXS Dropper?

Congrats on the new whip!

Can't wait to get home and build it. Thanks everyone for giving your experiences building your bikes.

Number 24 roughly lines up with what I think I was in the order que. Are they supposed to be close to order number?

Yeah I’m thinking about use a regular pedal and remove the end cap of the dropper. i really like the pedal though. i tried radical DH casing it is just really heavy! I have been fine with trail casing with other e-bikes not a big sender anyway

Did anyone get any setup literature or a setup guide for the Avinox display? I didn’t get anything about it. Also when searching for the app on apple, is the correct app AvinoxRide?

That’s the correct app. No setup guide for Avinox. Honestly, with frequent updates and changes, it’s better to go through it step by step than to follow outdated guide.

Anyone else receive the low out 168W charger instead of 508W?

I think I would have an issue with that. Let us know what T says about this. Did you opt for the 600 or 800 battery?

Mine arrived today but I haven't unpacked it as I'm still at the office. Though, it's about quitting time. Yep, it's quitting time. LoL

Ok cool, thanks. 🍻

First shakedown (video link below). I'm a little rusty and suspension still needs some tweaking. It's not as night and day different to my old bike the Strive On as I was expecting but my old setup was pretty dialed. Didn't realize the drone doesnt do sound but the bike is nice and quiet... lol...

I finished my build and got it out today… this thing is insane. The Avinox motor is cool and all, but honestly the bike itself is the star.

First thing I noticed was the 36t chainring — felt like I was stuck in the mud. Same thing trying to bunny hop around the parking lot. At that point all I had done was set sag.

Then I hit the trails and the bike completely came alive. Everything I felt in the parking lot disappeared. There’s this weightless feel I can’t really explain — super supple off the top, then it firms up perfectly in the mid-stroke.

The taller stack and longer chainstay are a huge plus for me. I felt comfortable immediately, and cornering is just dreamy. I wasn’t even trying to weight the front, and if one tire broke loose, the other followed (hard-packed sand here).

If you like jumping, you’re going to love this bike. That weightless feeling on trail is even more noticeable in the air — it’s ridiculously easy to move around. My Levo feels like a tank compared to this 181.

I’m on an RH3 with MX wheels and 445 CS. I’d definitely be interested to try 450.

52.1 lbs with the 800wh battery.

Magic Mary radials front and rear (gravity casing, ultra soft / soft)
OneUp V2 bars – 760mm
Leatt CeraMag stem – 33mm
Leatt CeraMag AllMtn pedals
eewings – 160mm
Nobl TR37 / Berd spokes / Onyx Vespers
Maven Ultimate B1
Galfer Shark 203mm rotors / MTX gold pads
XX derailleur / XO chain / GX cassette

2027 Zeb Ultimate – 142 psi (~22–23% sag), dials open
2027 Vivid Air – 294 psi (~28% sag), rebound 7 clicks from slow

I’m 6’0”, ~215 geared. Still dialing the new RockShox stuff, but it already feels pretty magical.

Would love to hear what others are running with the new Zeb and Vivid Air.

Jarods is awesome. One of my favorites. About an hour west of Atlanta is Coldwater creek that is fun too.

About 3 hours north is Ashville area that has a ton of options like Kanuga and Rock Creek.

We should get an Atlanta thread going.

Sounds sick! Unpacked mine and now waiting for the wrap to get printed and installed. Then the build will start. I was surprised to see the EXT coil shock was lighter than the Fox X2.

Nice! I'm coming from a Strive on also. Did the 181 feel lighter at all on the trails?
