Cube one77 2025

Dear one77 owners, ready to pull the trigger for SLX, but still have some concerns. Could you please advice me:
1) Bike is cat 4 certified, did anyone used it for bike-parks/ dh tracks/jumps? Any potential issues with warranty?
2) How is it compared to some other EMTBs ( not in terms of the engine, gen 5 is cool), but in terms of the bike itself?
3) What spare parts should I expect to buy for it? I already know about motor cover (AVS), shorter cranks? But do I expect some other stuff to be replaced? Is the dropper ok? What about stem/ handlebar? Do I need some spares for handlebar cable routing ?
4) Are wheels TR? Do they have the TR rim tape? What is the internal width -30? Does anyone run the inserts with it?
5) Low bb. Is it low compared to what? Does it affects you mostly on technical climbs? Are cranks really too long - or manageable?

For details: going from Commencal Meta AM29 21, mostly prefer riding natural red-black trails, red-black park trails. Home spot - blue-red (jumps) park trails. First EMTB, need to ride down more using less time.

maybe you need activation at the Bosch dealer. That's what happened with my wife's bike, which has Gen4.

mine was a real ballache to get right too. I had to push down on it whilst pushing down on the stem whilst tightening the star nut.

I have a worse problem - it appears the lug on the top plastic angle cup that locks into the notch isn't there on mine which means the cup is not staying in place at the right angle setting (steep for me) when turning the handlebar!

is this worthy of a warranty claim?

Hey @smokey79 do you ride Grogley or Newbridge.? I regularly ride the steeps there & have no issue with a front weighted bias.
I've come from a Spesh Status 160 which had very similar geo so the change for me was not too radical.
I have however fitted a 50mm rise Burgtec handlebar which I think makes a positive difference on steep trails as it keeps your body position in a more upright & balanced stance :) (y)

The dropper on the SLX is not particularly long - I think it's Cube's own brand and works fine, but on my XL it's 170 and I'd prefer another 20mm. I think the higher spec models have longer droppers. I'll probably upgrade to a longer one in due course.
Try the stock 165 cranks and see how you get on, but you'll probably want shorter cranks. I've replaced with 155, and still getting strikes so may have to go shorter.
The rim tape is a sort of cloth tape, probably worth replacing to be honest but I didn't bother, just fitted some tubeless valves (you'll need to make sure the rear is long enough to allow for the rim magnet and still get the pump on) and put some sealant in, has worked fine since.

Mine is also missing, but I consulted the service guy when I was hunting down the mystery creaking from the front. Apparently, the notch isn’t necessary. But I ordered anyway some spare parts from Acros. New bearing cup with the notch plus aluminium part for cable management or what ever the piece is called. This way the headset can be tightened properly, at least according to the manufacturer

I will do the change in near future, because the headset has started making some noice. Probably greasing will solve this…

without the notch I can't see how the angle cup locks into it? Mine is not locking in place due to the missing lug on the angle cup and this means the angles are not right as the angle cup turns gradually
 
I paid 15€ for the upper cup… maybe the ones you’re looking are made of gold?

Hi @ KernowMTB, thanks for your reply, yes, Grogley is where I've experienced this. I've had a play around with sag & settings (again), went on Sunday and seems a bit better, I was also looking at the Burgtec 50mm rise (great minds think alike😉) also a shorter stem. Also a stickier front tyre, sintered pads, etc etc 😂 I'm on a black one77 if u spot me about

Does anyone have the part number of the small white plastic that holds the lower part of the battery cover in place?
It disappeared, I've been using duct tape for now

This is my first ever coil but so far it’s great. Only had a short ride in to the local woods. Over roots and a little drops it’s great, feels a lot more planted then the float x. The float felt hollow to me where this feels solid. Big test will be wharnie on Sunday.

1. I've used the bike up untill red trails in bikepark Winterberg and Vallåsen. Was very impressed. Used it without battery because of uplift. Very steady bike on the techy stuff.

3. I love the original stem and rise of handlebar. It is higher than my Giant Trance non EMTB with a 40mm rise. The dropper is similar to my ONEup dropper. But its shorter. I'm 1.85cm and its just right. Were I longer I needed a longer dropper.

5. I'm sceptic about the whole discussion about the BB height. This depends for a great deal on your riding style and skill. And PSI in shocks. I have less pedal strikes than on my Giant Trance 1.5 2017 non EMTB, crank length 175mm.
