If it was me, I'd buy a couple of spare tyres to get the first level of discount, then buy a spare battery to get the Platinum discount, then buy the bike. Effectively you've got the tyres and battery for free with the bike. Of course, this needs a level of planning that may be out of reach for some.
wiggle dont sell e-bike batteries which is a shame, thats the first thing I checked to get the platinum discount.

My bike turned up today :D

Looks great (I'll add a photo to the other thread later).

Anyone else have issues getting the brand X dropper cable to play nice? It either won't go up, or won't go down. I can't get the middle ground with the damn thing. Bar that I can't see any marks anywhere (Box had me worried as that had seen better days) so I'm happy.

Complained to Wiggle still though, no notification it was being sent/delivered today. Just arrived, was sheer luck I was home. Also no Haribo, so I'm quite annoyed ;)

Dropper cable routing around the motor is tight and the outer may have got crimped in build process - mine had. Does the inner mover freely in the outer? If not your outer may have got crimped too.
 
Cable does seem tight. I'll take a better look later. The outer moves freely through the frame as I lowered it to my required height. Where was it pinched? Do you know how hard it is to feed back through if I disconnect the whole thing?
 
Yes, they never have and never will apparently which I found a little blunt and limiting seeing as though they sell the bikes.
That does seem very short sighted.
 
Personally the only thing I had to do was to adjust the battery mount clamp as it was a bit loose, the rest were a few personal preference "upgrades", tubeless, Loctite relevant bolts and cockpit adjustments. Some head scratching when the App wouldn't connect because of the E7000 switch but resolved by unplugging the switch at the applicable step (will need an app update to do it with it plugged in but looks like updates are very rare).

Still not had time to try the bike as been out clockwork all the time recently but it's in for Invisiframe this week so probably for the best.

All I can say is that you should check your bike over and raise any issues with Wiggle.. they either offer you a replacement part, send a missing component, in my case replace a damaged bike or some cash back and/or store credit.

My replacement bike came with a signed off safety check sheet... the only missing thing was the mini tool which I've got more than I need in one lifetime so didn't bother about it.

Those waiting for delivery should note at no point was I ever given a delivery day, it just turned up unannounced and it never says dispatched... just a delivery before date.. IME it's 2-3 days after it says it "processed".
 
Snagged cable was causing my dropper issues. So far that's the only thing I've found. Bolts etc all seem right and torqued ok.

Got the app issue. Will sort that another day. Stock settings seem ok although I will down tune ECO at some point. Shame the app hasn't been updates since May last year. Bit poor really.

Leaving it stock for the first ride just in case I really don't like it. Although I doubt that'll happen.

It's the motor's firmware you want to update, not the App. and ASAP (depending on what version your motor came with) as older/original firmware offered nowhere near as smooth control.

Oh.. Sorry. i get you now... because you have the E7000 controller/display and it's incompatability. Yeah. That is poor.

You can't change the level of assistance in eco it is what it is, it's the one thing I would like Shimano to change on the app

If the outer moves freely it ain't pinched. Maybe the inner is kinked slightly? Does the inner slide in the outer smoothly?

Replacing the outer is a motor out job BTW.
 
On mine I just cut down the existing outer, if you cut off the zip ties you can push and pull the outer through the frame.

So I disconnected the cable from the remote (which I have replaced with a One up remote), fed the cable though, installed a new inner gear cable and the post, then fed the outer back though until the post was in the right position for me, backed it out a couple of cm, then cut down the outer at the dropper remote end. Re zip tied the outer to the mounts by the shock, but not as tight as before so some movement allowed.

This does mean if I want to fully remove the post, I have to unclamp the dropper remote and feed the outer back through the frame whilst pulling the post to get it fully out, but easy enough to do.
 
If you really don't want to drop the motor using a rockshox reverb hose joining tool. like this:

Threaded into your old and new cable outer you may well be able to pull the new outer through while carefully pulling out the old.

Hi, i'm interested in the E-Sommet VR and might buy it in a few months, and I want to replace the Brand X dropper post with a BikeYoke Revive. Both are cable actuated. Will I be able to reuse the cable housing so I don't have to remove the motor?

Yes, I have had two different post, and 4 different remotes on the bike in the last year, and have only ever changed the inner cable, not the outer.

Is it possible to firmware update without using the app? Or do I need to get a e8000 controller to do it? Mine has the E7000 controller.

Think from what others have said you need the E8000 controller.

I have a slightly damaged e8000 controller I'd happily send to anyone struggling.
it works but has had crash damage and occasionally doesn't register a shift (would be fine for scrolling throiugh menu settings and connecting the app though)

If you follow the workaround does it force you, or give you the option, to update the firmware? I’m also potentially looking at doing the workaround but don’t want to bugger up the firmware for it to freeze!!

I've not tried it yet. I'm also worried. It seems to work fine for connecting but not sure I want to risk a firmware upgrade bricking my bike pre my first ride :oops::ROFLMAO:
 
I connected mine to the app and changed settings without any problems. Use the 7000 controller to enable Bluetooth, then unplug it. Plug it back in when you are done
