I made a DIY 12s3p battery. I used LG M58T 21700 cells. The capacity should be around 720 Wh. The original battery was 410 Wh.
I tested it for a few charge cycles. Now I have a problem. The motor controller thinks the battery is still 410 Wh. Also, I cannot get below 50% of the battery capacity (on the BMS).
Here is the comparison (Display % / BMS app %):
  • 90 / 90
  • 70 / 70
  • 66 / 64
  • 54 / 57
  • 44 / 55
  • 20 / 55 (after 5 days of no use)
I looked into the Bafang app and the display settings. I cannot find any option to change the battery capacity. Has anyone seen this problem before?

Install the appropriate version of FAKE TAXI for your battery and everything will be fine.

pls show us your DIY battery

you need a bms or battery with canbus connection to read anything from the battery. without can only see a calculated (guess) battery percentage
which isnt very correct most of the times

Fresh paint, new bearings, fork and shock serviced! Feels like new. This is still a really good bike!
Only three of the bearings had noticeable wear, the rest felt like new. Still changed all of them. Almost 6000 km ridden now.

Now I can start really exploring the new faketaxi version and play with the settings.

Hey,
What tool did you use to remove the bearings? Did you have any issues?

No issues, the bearings on the seatstays are a bit fiddly to get out since it is two bearings with a narrow spacer in between. I use a normal flat screwdriver and hammer. Since I was replacing them it doesn’t matter, just be careful to push them straight out so not to damage the frame. I used a bearing press to insert the new ones.
