I should have been clearer. It's a generic one, for DIY batteries and ones without firmware protection/handshake protocols. I doubt it would work with Avinox.

@Rob Rides EMTB Hello, do you know anyone who has already opened the M2s drive to look at this flat‑wire motor? Or do we know whether it’s derived from a drone motor? I’m curious about the technology and the thermal management ;)

I've been wondering why they went with a 700 battery as it seems a step backward on the top end bike (almost no-one in the UK was buying it with a 600). I'm guessing it's' a 700 battery because that's as much as they could fit in with the length of those cells in the smallest size frame. Otherwise surely you'd have made them slightly fatter to maintain an 800 battery

I think they were confined to the 46 format because of the sub cells. Tesla use the 4680 for instance, whilst Rimac shove a couple more in and make the 4695. (Xxyy width length).

I think they went for the 46 cells for the higher current draw potential, they could have made a 700 of similar dimension with 21 cells.

They needed 4650s to achieve the correct voltage with the cells stacked so it wasn't 85cm long.

It was rumoured the 4650s were LG, no idea if thats true or not.

In fairness I think most people were visually content with the existing format, especially compared to most existing full fat bikes. They've just introduced another format for frame design/shape though with a drop in overall available WH.
 
If the range extender will come, rumors are 300-400 W, to fit as a bottle cage, so than you wille have a decent range with 700W and a good weight of the bike and for longer trips you can use the RE, without the extra weight of a constant 800W battery. It all depends on how long and steep your weekly trips are, for me it will be ok, always between 60-85 km and mostly between 500-1200 hm. Still have the Orbea Rise with 540W battery and RE, but only used the RE 2 or 3 times over 2 years. I use 80% of the time eco and it’ll support till 45km/h.
Mondraker Zendit was an option, because the green color is beautyful , but Amflow px Carbon pro will be better for our riding/region, only the color is a pity …

Amflow rep at Sea Otter said they will be making a 400 Wh extender as well as the 600 Wh. Won't fit in the bottle cage but will take that spot.

Come to the Jura. All the buvettes here are off grid and maybe have solar. And the two exceptions near me don't allow ebikes to charge. And in Valais you can ride for days looking for a charging point. It's basically only at the hotel you're staying at.

Fortunately they serve beer so one is able to enjoy the mountain air and contemplate the long ride home with a dead battery :) Also I noticed that community charging stations only provide a small range of charging cables and unfortunately do not support newer Bosch charging ports.

This is great news. Did you hear anything about the rumored 900Wh battery and if it is going to be compatible with the new 700Wh bat form factor? Might be off but could have sworn I heard on this forum somewhere that this was on the horizon?

Amflow PR Carbon Pro version has the M2S motor and removable batteries. I think the Crestline 181.2 does as well.

There's bound to be more coming if not already announced but those are the two I recall off the top of my head.

But I should have been more specific with my question: Are there any e-bikes with an aluminum frame and the Avinox M2S motor that have an easily removable battery, like the Trek Powerfly or Trek Rail?

Based on a past experience, I do not have confidence in carbon frames. Both the AMflow and Crestline bikes, as far as I can see, are only available with a carbon frame.

Unless you’re a gnarlier rider than Jackson goldstone I think carbon will be fine for you!

But I think the atherton is removable and aluminum. So there’s an option. Might take a little longer to remove though. These batteries charge pretty quick. You may find you won’t need removable.

I think the only Aluminium bike with the M2S and a removeable battery so far is a Berria Bikes Nexxen Max. I think it has M2 motor by default but you can select the M2S on their webpage. eBike Nexxen

Unfortunately, Atherton is not available in Canada.

The reason I don't want carbon is that I crashed a carbon Specialized Diverge riding out of the bike shop, immediately after purchasing it. The crash wasn't hard, but the frame cracked in 3 places. Since then, I have refused to consider any carbon option.

I need a removable battery because I live in an apartment and I am not allowed to bring the bike up to my apartment. And unfortunately, the bike storage room in the building does not have an electrical outlet.

Amflow PR, Crestline, Rotwild R.EX. Only those three are made to be swapped trailside. The Atherton battery only takes 5 min to remove but voids the warranty if not done by a shop. I am also super disappointed at the lack of bikes with the RS batteries; presumably it's because they were developed last, so bike manufacturers didn't have time to design frames around them? Or maybe it's just a weight/aesthetics thing.

Good screen grab of the cell with some more information on the bottom. Looks to be a Ampace cell not LG like was previously thought in in this thread. Looks to have the model number of "PD200A" and have a 19.4ah rating. Using this I was able to find a article about the new cell where they mention the size format as a 50480, so slightly thicker but also shorter than originally thought. Interestingly though the estimated volumetric energy density seems to be lower than the out going M58T, being (compete estimates and likely to be off until official docs are out) at around 760wh/L which is significantly lower than say the upcoming M65A at 943wh/L.
