We need more plaid build pics. C'mon people.

EDIT: Did anyone that ordered a Zeb or fox 38 thru crestline get their frame and forks yet?
busy working to pay for this toy haha... planning to scavenge most components from Rail 29 so probably going to have to pick up a few things before the build can be completed, not sure what's going to be compatible. Hopefully current fork isn't cut too short, X0 cranks ok 🤷‍♂️, seat post don't know, going mullet so got to find a wheel and tire, new brake line lengths, chain (re-wax if new), may as well ridewrap it... overwhelmed.

Read em' and weep! Sadly, my package was missing the odds and ends box with the charger, axle, etc, so a few more days waiting for me. Good for my patience I suppose! @Wah My frame came with the Zeb and arrived today.

The 007 nickname around here is used for a rider with 0 skills, 0 stamina, $7k bike 😝

JK I’m actually jealous, that’s an awesome number!

Let’s see that Zeb… Bond, James Bond. Also i guess he was able to pack in the same box.
same box — I thought Christmas only comes once a year.

Bike shop just sent me the invoice to pay for the thing with a note stating it is ready for pickup!! 🥳
Brought good old #97 home!

Snapped some pics while she took in what was left of the sunlight. Tried to show how the raw carbon details pop when the sun hits it. Subtle, yet intriguing.. and sexy!!

Damn, that frame looks nice! Is the raw carbon details throughout the frame including headtube, seat tube & chainstays?

Yeahp, all over the frame. Yet you see it only as the light hits it just right in spots as you gaze upon its features. Note the shadow line on the wall inline with the pop seen on the frame.

It's mostly subtle, dark stealthy grey and smooth looking, then BOOM spots of RAW glimmer in the sunlight! It's so much nicer in person pics don't do it justice of course.

As a bonus I think scratches or chips are going to blend nicely with its finish. After getting some quotes to install the ridewrap, I think I am returning that stuff..

Heck, if it doesnt "make you sharper on the tools", maybe it doesnt go on a Crestline!! ;)

You sound super excited! You're gonna love that bike and the envy of your riding buddies 🤩

I was fortunate to land a Speed Shop Team Edition Complete bike with the Raw finish. Scheduled to arrive sometime in June.

Please post more pics as you complete your build.

For those that got the vivid coil, the spring is black?

Man I didn’t want the red zeb, but it was a good deal and figured it’d look ok with the red coil, but now if the coil is black and just the fork is red I’m even less of a fan of that look lol. Kinda wish it had the black zeb.

Just buy a red vivid coil spring, they are like $45 or less…

9 clicks out, looks tight, anyone have any problems? Not sure max clicks

I had clearance issues with my CL Onyx classics, but that was on my Levo. I was able to find a solution, but that was after ordering every adapter I could find and mixing and matching lol.

The real nut kicker — part of my solution, was also part of my problem. The speed sensor was also the lock ring. Said lock ring tightened with a cassette tool which wouldnt fit with the adjustable preload end cap. I couldnt remove the endcap with the speed sensor-lock ring and round and round we go 🤢

I can go on and on, but Im getting cold sweats thinking about this 🤣.

From what I have read/seen, Avinox’s speed sensor looks much better for CL hubs. Also, Onyx updated to a cinch style end cap for the preload. Im hopeful.

Pretty rad you got the hook flange Vespers. Mine had the inserts pressed in as I made damn sure to ‘just say no’, when asked if I wanted CL

Looks easy peasy with the Avinox SS on centerlock. Have you run Vespers on an eeb before? Any issues? Nobl and Onyx push for classics, but I havent had any issues with my vespers.

Here are my wheels impatiently waiting for a frame to strap up to lol. Wonder if they will be white for more than the NBD photos 🤣

According to Berd, Onyx redesigned the Classic hub for hook flange and it looks like the vesper but has 2 sets of sprag clutch rings like classic but shaved a lot of weight by going to a vesper style body.

I wasn't happy when i opened my box the other day and saw center lock vespers, so i emailed Berd with a WTF email.

They reassured me I did indeed get the classic, just the new version. Opening it up, and damn if they were right. So that's cool. CL, not so cool. but it looks like others have made it work, so fingers crossed.

It was the same way on .1 frames, if you’re in ST mode and have the rebound dialed out it will likely hit. You’ll have to remove the shock, take the rebound knob off then reinstall the shock.
Not ideal, thank you

These open windows under the linkages gives me anxiety of water and mud getting in for sure. Any thoughts ? I guess these are for heat management? I want to tape them lol, not feeling I can wash my bike anymore
This kinda got brushed over. Curious if everyone is just going to leave it, tape over, or stuff with foam? Idk if I want to leave that large of a hole there. I get my bikes pretty muddy often.

Think the issue may be it looks set to ST vs LT?!!

Do you need to undo the shock mount to remove the rebound knob?

Does the bike go into stinkbug mode (lower front end pushing weight forward) in ST or does the geo change with the travel or?

What the fork.. 160, 180? I dont get the ST mode on this bike really can you explain how it works and the benefit as it seems there must be a reasoning for this?!

What is the real concern here? Water ingress or mud build up?

Both… I don’t exactly want a wide open window to my motor/electronics. I get that it may be rated to get a bit wet, but I also don’t spray my cellphone with water that is also water resistant. It’ll also build up mud in there over time and be a pain to clean out. Look at the yeti thread, same issue with them and most people are using foam there. It seems like it was overlooked or is there a purpose for it? I don’t have my frame yet, but just looking at that pic I don’t think I’d want to leave that open.

Yeah I get it. I work a lot with water proof electronics, IP66 is good for water/dust (dirt), so I wouldnt be worried about that, especially from DJI who work with a lot of outdoor electronics already.

Mud wise, interested to see feedback from 181.1 owners to see if it is a real issue?

Also it is not 'a bit wet' it is from jets, next level is IP67 and IP68 which relates to full submersion.
