Bafang M560

I will add my experience with Bafang. I have 2 bikes, one BBS02 / 25000km/and the other with M500/13000km/. On BBS, only the bearings on the axle and the nylon wheel were replaced because the grease had penetrated the clutch. And in the winter the clutch was not working. After cleaning, the nylon wheel is working in reserve.
There was no problem with M500 yet. It took me longer to find a good FW but I managed. When riding with friends on Bosch motors, I think I am an even partner.
The noise level is great for me.
Well I heard BS002 is quietest and M500 as well. But with bafang users I take this statement with grain of salt :) Should you try M560 and maybe you would change your opinion :)

I am aware however that Chinese products are becoming more expensive through the Tariff war thats onward going. Blame Trump for that.
Those tariffs war is only between USA and China. EU/UK/China without change so it's not about the tariffs. They can also export with special channels without taxes. E.g. greenbike. But if you can normally buy it in UK for 350 then good for you.

Just get on and sell the motor, you hate it, you spend all your days crying about it, go buy a Bosch and be happy.

I quite like my M510, cheap as chips, full spares available, no speed restrictions, loads of firmwares about, I have no problem with the Apps or BESST, there's a large knowledge base of upgrades and repair on the likes of EndlessSphere and other forums and having ridden both the latest Brose motor and Bosch Gen 2 - 4, once you have customised the traits with either BESST or the APP, there's not a lot of difference.

Not sure if you read properly, but I already own Bosch gen. 4 smart system. Nobody is crying, I don't give a shit - I only wanted motor for my frame and Bafang was only option. I simply was not prepared how noisy it is and when I heard guys stating how silent it is then yes, I want to cry :) Maybe there is not lot of a difference if you underwent all these customizations but the one negative stays - the noise. If you are fine with that good for you but as I said million times here (and own Dado hundred of euro for this :) for me it is very hard to accept and get use to it.

You still arguing about the power but do you have some other arguments why Bafang is better than bosch ? Name one. And do not name upgrades, repairability etc. because for bosch you don't need any updates, it just works and I never had a single issue with it for more than 2 years and 10k+ kilometers. You have 2y warranty on a motor, what warranty you have with Bafang ? You are blindly defending Bafang without considering other aspects. This is called fanboy-ism.

And I didn't say I hate it, I've only said what I don't like so I don't understand why you simply can't admit these motors are noisy. I also say what I like. What about you ?

There are a number of motor options both Dengfu and Light Carbon make frames for other than Bafang.
Educate me what frames Dengfu makes for different motors but bafang ? Light Carbon has Shimano frames but only up to L so is useless for me unfortunately.

Do you know about someone who makes frames with DJI motors ?

Dengfu used to make both Shimano and Bafang Frames. Light Carbon also. Theres a number of frames coming through with Avionox, Light Carbon is rumoured to make the Teewing frame which is available in L and XL, I believe you should call Chill Shen who has them available as we speak.

Did you buy into the power factor ( W's) in your decision to buy the M560 ?

Thanks for tip. I will definitely wait for Avinox then. Teewing frames - i don't have experience with those motors, do they make mid drive motors comparable to bosch ? At least in terms of smoothness or noise.

Seems Dengfu abandoned Shimano and I've read recently more reputable bike manufacturers leaving Shimano platform as well, replacing with Bosch. Indeed in terms of eco system and apps Bosch is number one.

Power factor was not the main argument. I have this Bosch gen.4 and I'm pretty fine with the power for what I ride. I also don't use throttle, never. I have bike mostly for fitness and fun and this 25kmh limit on Bosch is pretty limiting/annoying. Honestly, I've never thought that much about noise because I've expected to be on the similar level so when 560 came I was literally shocked. I was looking at some youtube videos and tried to convinced myself it can't be that bad. Especially video from dado and his first gen of a motor. But as I've found this 2nd iteration is not much better :) At least for me. But there was also some other issue with assembly so after regreasing everything it's tad better now. But the bafang noise characteristic is still there as I've learned because I've bought also M510 and M600 motors :) M600 is the quietest but still this whining in higher RPM is present so seems this is standard with Bafang.

for me the biggest issue is overrun and not so smooth power delivery . not mentioning that for fw update i need to spend extra $$ for besst and ask god bafang didnt kill my account . oh and shitty app that want u to login online deep into woods ...

Isn’t it possible to use python hack for offline mode? What motor do you have btw? I don’t have bigger issues with overshoot. It’s bit more than bosch and sometime title longer an unpredictable but at the end i don’t have issues with this on 560. Power delivery is not that bad either so don’t know maybe you have faulty torque sensor. I have this problem on m600 I’ve bought it like that from one greedy guy. He “forgot” to tell me. On that motor power fluctuates like crazy on climbs. Ordered new torque sensor so hope i will fix it and then i sell that motor. But want to compare noise levels with m560 first. m510 i also have for sell if anyone interestedz Brand new from Mirko from Germany. I found it less noisy but not that much what could compensate +500W of m560 power.

Ah where have you been for the last 18 months, Amflow is the bike, Avinox is their motor and battery system. Teewing are probably the first to offer frame, Avinox motor, battery and display only.

very few options with avinox. I know crusis is planning avinox xl bikes but only next year. I want a frame and motor only. Is there something like that now? XL?
The M510 on 52 volt batteries gives you about 750W's, thats in Bosch territory ?
You need to understand and I’m sure you do that wats on paper means nothing. And yes, bosch nominal power is 250W but it goes to 750W or so with gen5. And their power transfer is better so yes gen4 is stronger than m510. just enable turbo or auto and try yourself.I have 48v battery and m510 goes to 730W when fully charged. Still bosch is better motor. It’s only problem is lock at 25kmh but this is not bosch fault.

My M600 was as smooth as, but its downside was it had a cadence bias rather than torque. About 1200W's on 52 volt batteries and you could set KOM's climbs on Strava at will. Quietest of all the M motors by some way.

Great reliable motor if only they had gotten the torque sensor a bit more dialed in. Sort of understood why Bafang went that route as the BB02 and HD were cadence only and torque sensing was pretty new on the ground.

jeez... i still want factory product to do the thing . i know there are open softwares , open firmwares , canable cables etc . but i expect from manufacturer to deliver me the product as promised . i had tsdz2 , used with open firmware and the thing worked great , much better than way more expensive m600 i got later . but i was prone to burn easily and was ruining ground clearance which is one of the most important things in emtb .
overrun is not terrible BUT IT EXISTS which makes experience unpleasant to say the least.
how many times i have to repeat myself ? if i was the bafang emperor i'd do this right .
they simply done it as it is , no refinement , no upgrade , no care ...

i bet that avinox will require proprietary everything , that means battery will cost 2x or 3x$ compared to diy , display , cables etc , everything will be much more expensive

Over run is good, I like it on steep techical climbs and over things, quick little dab on the peddles and it will carry you through. The M510 I have has a little, just about right for my liking.

Go buy a Bafang engine then.

Avinox is the best out there at the moment by someway and if you want to own one, you have to pay for that privilidge.

I don't understand, if you don't like the motor, sell it and you have a Bosch that you are happy with, so enjoy it. The pros and cons of bafangs have been known here for a long time. You could have avoided. disappointment. Instead, you flooded all the threads about bafangs in a week with your videos about noise. And maybe you are just oversensitive to sound, which you admit.
My opinion of you is that you will not be happy with anything. Don't take it badly. I don't want to continue this debate because it is useless.
i have no problem with sound . misenko has . i only gave example of motor sound that my mate purchased recently . no complain so far.

not 4me. its a flaw and a serious one . no excuse from my point of view

My both m560 motors have worked perfectly out of the box. Nothing needed to be done.

Greenbikekit gives the same 1 year warranty as Bafang does. Chili Shen gives 2 year warranty.

Light carbon makes a frame for DJI and I think I have told you this before

With the frame sets pushing 4 k . Is it a value considering the cost of the additional components not counting labor. I would enjoy building a bike just wondering if the economics add up.

Well mine motor is obviously faulty so I can’t blame it yet. I’ve ordered a new torque sensor, it really looks pretty weak, m560 seems has a better sensor. So let’s see. Mine goes only to 1000W I guess with 48v battery and m560 is obviously more powerful motor but let’s see.

A preco by som nebol s boschom som, ja som len poukazal na to, ze ten hluk je neunosny a mali by s tym daco robit, to je cele. Anavyse, nieje to len zvuk bafang ma kopu inych problemov, ludia to musia konfigurovat, custom firmware a pod.

That’s the price only for a frame or with motor? 4k is insane if only the frame. My dengfu e82 cost is maybe 600$ ? I’ve paid 2200$ with m560 motor and 1kW battery and shipping.

almost all frames can be adapted to bafang with simple adapter. sometimes they are very cheap . I have currently two shimano frames with m560 fitted . and I'm in the process of building huskvarna ebikes also with bafang and 1200wh batteries

Vice versa possible ? :) e.g brose, shimano, bosch motors in bafang frame?
