Has everybody recieved there batteries yet. Was on canyon website looking to see if they were selling batteries again, would appear not?

I reckon testing a new model of the battery may take months, hopefully they will not ship exactly the same model of faulty design

Some people on Facebook groups are reporting new batteries are cracking already (900Wh)

I still haven't heard anything from canyon about mine being on its way (720Wh)
That's bad news but I originally thought the core problem was the fixing method so not surprised.

my reasoning was that any threaded bolt fixing held only by the battery casing would eventually fracture the casing due to the weight of the battery and the forces exerted by the bike over rough ground and especially on jump or drop landings.

Again in my opinion a thicker and/or more resilient battery case (assuming that was the "fix") would make little difference since the fixing points would have to be rigid to prevent battery movement, but that merely transfers the forces to other parts of the casing. There is also the fact that bike frame downtubes are not totallly rigid especially in respect of lateral forces.........that "flex" is likely to be more pronounced if the frame is carbon composite.
If I am right, I appreciate it is cold comfort for those suffering problems , except for the fact that anyone experiencing a repitition of the cracking could (IMO) rightfully claim it is a faulty design with inherent dangers of water ingress to the battery which is a safety risk............... and seek proper redress.

Has anyone received their replacement 720wh battery yet? I filled the order form in as soon as they were sent out and ive still not heard anything!
not yet, but the last letter (that usually contains a lie) was about November, not October

, would you kindly post full battery view photo? It does not look like screw assembly anymore

As I predicted in this thread about a year ago, they haven't changed anything - the same crappy plastic, everything still held together with screws from the hardware store. They'll still crack, get flooded, and catch fire.

Canyon is steadily destroying its reputation. Why couldn't they have made a normal case, even with less capacity? They just lost a lot of money - and they'll lose even more when/if people start suing them massively.

Anyway, I sealed cracks on my 720W battery with 3M rubber, and also sealed the gaps between the battery and the frame. It fits tighter in the frame—less wobbling and flexing.

Reinforced plastic stuff:

Hope, it will not break as fast as original ones.

BTW, Canyon said that they will send me the new strap ;)

Not sure whether anyone has seen this, but the Canyon website was updated on 22nd October with the following info:

This page was updated on: Wednesday 22nd October 2025.

If you haven't ordered your replacement battery, please order it now. You can also continue to participate in the compensation programme. Please note the following information:

  • 900 Wh batteries: You will receive compensation for the delayed delivery based on the period from 31 March 2025 until your battery is shipped, but no later than 31 October 2025.
  • 720 Wh batteries: You will receive compensation for the delayed delivery based on the period from 31 March 2025 until your battery is shipped, but no later than 31 December 2025.

The compensation programme, including the compensation for the delayed delivery, will end without replacement on 31 December 2025.

You can, of course, continue to order replacement batteries after this date – only the compensation will then no longer apply.

Not sure what the section on 720w batteries means. Does it mean we will have a new battery by December 31st?, or does it mean the compensation will end on 31st December regardless if we have a new battery or not? I tried contacting them today but couldn't get past the chat bot. I will try again on Monday to actually speak to someone.

I've been riding regularly since finally receiving my replacement battery in July. After returning home from a short riding trip last month I hadn't touched the bike for a bit so yesterday went out to do a bit of maintenance. I had put the charger on a few days before and thought the battery was topped off. After working on the bike a bit I went around the block a few times and noticed the battery indicator was down one bar. Back home I plugged it in and saw that the charger light shows green and never changes to show the red light!

Hmmm. Down one bar, neither charging nor charged! Now what?
