i understand , mine is quiet , ask your supplier , i purchased via alibaba from fieldebikes

Yes, it work's fine on 48V firmware. 70x LG M58 1502Wh battery is used.
hey , you mean that 14s battery is working on 48v firmware or i misunderstood ? any problems ? motor behaves normally ? display also handles more voltage well ?

I did they told me this...

"As the motor noise, I have forwarded to Bafang.
Bafang said this sound of M560 is normal.
As M560 is with steel gear.
"
But I guess it's not only about gears, that would be different noise more mechanical but this is more electrical whine or something. It is changing it's frequency all the time but usually the frequency is pretty high which add to annoyance.

look what my friend found inside m560 delivered with frame from alibaba . spot the detail...

m560 has a bigger motor no doubt . for me only thing is that m510 should take 58v no problem if controller is the same ...

Opened up my M560 today, ODO at 1500 km. The factory grease was plenty but quite dirty and thin, approx. the consistency of ketchup.

Here is the controller version:

Removed the old grease best I could using paper towels and a toothbrush and filled it up with Mobilith SHC 100 (thanks for the recommendation @Sayonara):

Sadly the new grease did not reduce the motor noise at all but it's good to know that re-greasing is possible at home and only a couple hours work.

Hi gsoros ,
I open my motor as it delivered with 0km and look like the same, it is not dirt grease, it is like graphite grease for gears.
Next I open it on 2000km - nothing changed =)

Haha, graphite, that explains it! I thought it was steel dust from the gears wearing in. Oh well.

It’s because the noise is not from gears but from stator/rotor assembly. Bafang tolerances are poor and slightest deviation causes rotor hits something. Some people claims their m560 is silent, others says is noisy. Mine is noisy as well. Very noisy. Check here. So I’ve opened it up completely and found that smaller gear rotates very hard and making crazy noise. Have a look at this video - does your gear makes this noise? You need to push it hard in forward direction (backwards it’s running smooth and easy). Check if it is making this noise. I think it’s not normal so I put some thin ptfe grease on rotor a stator surfaces. I don’t care about some power reduction but that noise is killing me. Also I’ve put lot of parktool bearings grease into lower bearing, upper unfortunately can not be opened. I haven’t tested it yet but now when I turn the gear it is not making noise at all so I have some little hope for test. Check this video if its noisy like that on your motor.

BTW, mine 560 did not had any black grease when new, even after 150km no black grease whatsoever so I doubt it's graphite grease. Nevertheless, I've lubed everything well with some rockshox dynamic grease, didn't have anything else at hand :)

I will update later after test ride.

i use this
This one looks good but it's not possible to order it anywhere in Europe. Well, I found it on amazon.de but you have yo buy 4 packs for more than 100 eur... :-/ An from US amazon they don't ship to EU.

Do you use it also for bearings ?

I found only this one but it's something else not sure if it would work

John Deere Grease Gard Premium Plus 400g

where in eu ? i purchased easy in poland . this is typical GEAR grease , for bearings i think something thinner , teflon based oil perhaps

Slovakia, do you have a link maybe ? I can buy from PL using forwarding service if not ship directly. Just googled it an really no results in EU shops. Don't know why.

Thx.

I wonder if that grease stays in place because it looks pretty liquid under power. Since it's that liquid I wonder if it is able to dampen the noise. Probably it would splash all over the internal casing ?

Hi guys, is this the new version of M560 motor or old version. Received it a week ago but upon dismantling I can see it has m510 controller. I saw on this forum that someone got board with M560
controller and also they’ve used black grease. Mine is classic yellowish grease.
