Santa Cruz Vala

Ok, no promises but I went on a rampage and ordered two from two different companies, both in the USA.
Just got desperate because I pre ordered the first one, and the second one seemed to get here faster, and it will!
I live in Arizona, heck ya it's hot! And apparently, one arrives tomorrow Monday 9/8/2025. The second one arrives in about two weeks and I will post it sor sale, since I do not need two, obviously.
I will sell it at the original price that I paid. And I will not make any $$.
I will post it here as soon as I get it.
Sorry, but shipped only in the lower 48 states.

Cheers!

Question for those of you who had issues with the plastic motor mount bushing backing out: was it the rearmost one, below the chainstay? What contact route did you take through the SC website to get them to send you the new parts? When I started to fill out a warranty thing, it said for anything ebike motor-related, you first needed to contact the motor manufacturer. Obviously I'd rather not deal with them.

I went through the frame area of the website to make a warranty claim. Going through Bosch is frustrating. SC literally had me the V3 bolts in 2 days. Yes mine was the rear lower bushing.

Santa Cruz don't stock the parts you'll need to go to your lbs and they'll reach out to Bosch

SC replied within a couple hours of my email saying they'll mail out the new bolts & bushings to me this afternoon.
strange I never got the reply, lol. I bough them myself, along with the kiox 400

36 hours after I submitted request, new bolts & bushings were on my doorstep. That's part of why I keep buying Santa Cruz bikes. Granted, I live like an hour's drive north from HQ, but still that's a super fast response.

Installed mine this week. Works great. You can see the outline of the 'InvisiFrame' follows the shape of the original cutout.

After installing mine, I checked and was prompted to install the previous performance update again. Not sure if it was necessary but the flow app said so. I also sent a message to RideWrap that they may want to update their kits. RideWrap also sized the cutout more for the original controller

Picked up the new ride last week. Only a few short rides in, but I did make some adjustments to the cockpit. Reach on this medium felt pretty short so I added some OneUp bars with less sweep. See if that makes the fit a bit roomier. Also I expected Schwalbe tires but looks like all the Vala's will be maxxis, which I'm fine with.

I must have been riding too much in dusty/gritty conditions because the old blockout scuffed the black "CC" strip above the cutout.
Hello, How to display heart rate on the Kiox 400 screen? I can't do it on flow application.
I have an Apple Watch, and the Flow app asked for permission to read heart rate. Once you allow that, it will display. It's a bit clunky to get it to show up though, you've got to start the Flow app on your phone, start the ride, then the Flow watch app needs to auto-start. After it does that, then it shows up on the screen. I haven't tried pairing Flow with my Polar HRM strap.

Thanks for your answer, I have a polar HRM strap, and I didn't successfully.

Anyone running the new Fox 36 on their Vala. Trying to decide between this or going with a 38. Just thought saving a bit of weight might be nice but aware this will drop the front end by 5mm

I will do soon and can report then. Just use a bar with more rise. 😗

Anyone know if for the KIOX 400C it is possible to have trails visible while riding without first routing it out via the Flow app? Using the app I do see it has most of my local trails - was hoping to just ride with a map visible for new ones without having to plan it first. Not sure this is possible - can’t find any info online either.

Got confirmation from my local distributor that the GX AXS models they are awaiting will have the Kiox 400C display. I'm busy getting some bits together in the meantime and I'd like to confirm what cable is needed for the Powermore 250 for a medium Vala. Length and routing info would be appreciated

250mm cable "towards" is the style you want

No, that is not possible.

As with all other displays for the smart family, the Kiox 400C does not have any mapping or routing capability on its own. It completely depends on data sent from a connected smartphone with the Flow app running.
