I think that they’re 58.8v fully charged. As far as I know, if the firmware is for 52v then there isn’t a problem.
I’ve just tried 3.2 on the M510 and it shows my 48v fully charged battery at 70%.

You should have feel 1200W kick on Bafang HD. ;)) And I got used to. Even the torque sensor - I could live without. Just to have correctly setup power levels.
Hi @Dado, saw Your FB post with 43V firmware - is it available for M510? Would You please put it on GitHub or post it here? Thanks mate!

Hello Thaeber.

I am not sure if I have rights to upload to Github. I gave fw to CiDi to upload. Check M600 thread, gonna upload.

Thanks mate! I expected M510 43V firmware, but I see it‘s M600. Have fun guys - I have ro wait for M510 update!

M510 still to wait.

Anyway Bafang responded v3.2 is 48V. Jokers. ;))

New FW from Bafang. Not tried yet, but here it is.

Thanks Rob. Will test it today and let u know.

We have here another funny statement from Bafang:

"Bafang informed that the motor and battery are not the same supplier, and then Bafang's own can protocol can not be seamlessly connected with all battery suppliers, so there will be such problems."

What they wanna tell, is maybe new firmwares will be setting up correct battery voltages (and I guess also currents) according communication between battery and controller over CAN after turn on. How many people have original Bafang battery, which has also CAN communication protocol? ;)

Hi rob. if you have direct contact with bafang, may be you can request if this firmware is applicable on all M510 or if it have several version of controller chipset and specific firmware for each ?

So last firmware (48V v3.0 date: 20220628 )is not uploading for me with my motor. :( Rob, I guess you will be now able to upload to your motor. Finger crossed.

I can definitely upload versions 3.1 and v 3.2. What a mess. ;)

Mine can't update too, Bafang oh Bafang :D

Which means bafang can have 2 different microcomputers used (or some change on PCB) and you need to have correct firmware compiled for specific board/chip. This first byte can determine what firmware u wanna flash, if does not match with hw, controller will refuse to flash.

I found the differences between the M510 and the M600. The M510 spider is moved closer to the carriage.

The M510 has a new nut, what tool should I use to tighten it? Installed an old nut from the M600.

Nuts for connecting rods are different. M510 at the bottom, M600 at the top.

Sorry guys, but this Thread is named "Bafang m510" so here should be discussed the new motor. Posts regarding the old m500 should be placed in a different thread to not mess it up ;)
I'm just writing about the M510. Well, I bought a complete set, not just the motor. I have an old M600. I'm comparing the M510 and the M600. Otherwise I wouldn't have the necessary details.

Maybe this key
M510 and M500 and M600 have the same dimensions,M510 VS M500, not only one weight (2.9 kgs vs 3.4kgs ), The main difference is the instantaneous output power, M510 can be 120NM, but M500 only 95NM,
M510 48V can fit for battery 48V and 52V (Bafang‘s engineer said). because the new battery BT F25 all are 52V, no 48V again,

@LAnton is right, chainring, some nuts different from M500/M600. so if u buy M510 kits just put all the accessories kit with it.

Hello everyone. I was able to install the latest FW that was given to us by @Rob Rides EMTB. i installed on a motor where i could not install "52v" FW. unfortunately I didn't try it because that motor is not on my bike. @Kyokushin your statements are correct, thanks for the effort.
