The only thing I don’t like about my 40 is the turning radius with a fat head tube, like I have on my Voima. It’s only a problem on super tight switchbacks, but I have a lot on my local trails. I’m hoping my new Crestline head tube will be narrower so I’ll have a better turning radius, as I’m intending on getting the 200mm rear linkage for a 200/200 beast!

I'll feedback here. Thinking of adding a Reach increaser headset too as I have a ZS56 headtube, or rotate the stem like plf013 above, but the Intend stem is +25 length, maybe too long to spin around!
I run PNW Range handlebars with 25mm or 38mm rise, I can't remember, so it'll be interesting to see if they fit the stem with it's 20mm rise limit and clamp design...
Why not fitting higher rise bar and lower the stem? that would look much more Sexy to me.
Where did you buy it? I can't find it in the UK. Also, I've seen other people comment that they couldn't get it to grip tightly enough on the steerer as there isn't a large clamping surface - does it feel secure to you?
I would guess that because of the 2 bolt clamp design. Trying to fit high rise bars through the clamp will prove challenging because you can't open up the clamp wide enough.
I just wanted to give it a try. No return if you cut your steer tube too short.

OK thanks. Not that cheap with shipping but still less than BMB etc. I'm just wary of cutting my steerer down in case I want to go back to regular stems. Maybe I'll try it on an old set of forks first.

It’s the bars that make it look ridiculous too! Ideally I’d have the raised reverse stem, which is a lot taller than my hacked job, and then bars with lower rise.
Do you mean the head tube? Otherwise I don’t get it.
Presumably he's using the downtube as an example of something ugly. Personally, I can think of a lot uglier things than a slightly bulky downtube though.
Have you ridden that particular bike in non-goofy format on that route ?
Good point. I’d definitely rode the black Crestline I had with Avinox M1 motor there. Perhaps not exactly the same route.
