Does anyone have experience using either the Thule UpRide (599) or the Thule TopRide (568)? I have their ProRide (598) which works a treat with my hard tail but the down tube is too big on my eMTB for the 598. I’m planning a long road trip, has anyone used them long distance? Assume they’re fine as was the ProRide on my last road trip but I do have some reservations given my bike will be right on the weight limit, if not slightly over. Thanks!

I have a proride (can’t remember the number), but it fits just fine on my tail when I take the battery off. It’s a newer model, where the wheel straps are set diagonally not straight. Rail 9.8

What bike have you got as you may get more relevant answers from fellow owners?

Only ever used Pro Ride and they are excellent. Check that your car can take weight of the e-bikes on the roof. My car has a panoramic glass roof and it was a no go for the roof with the e-bike when I asked VW.

Get a 1 up. I have a Thule pro ride rack and could make it work with my levo with a Velcro strap but the 1-up is way more sturdy and easy to use.

Or
Do not sell outside of the US
oh sorry forgot I mentioned it to you in the other thread. Guess your going the roof rack instead of hitch mount now? The pro ride will work if you use Velcro around the frame and the clamp. Not the best option but it works, I did it for a few months

I'm using a Thule UpRide (599) now, as the ProRide (598) clamp doesn't fit around the new bike's frame. I am concerned about the weight and corner slower to minimise the lateral g-forces. Would prefer a tow bar mount but not planning on keeping the car for much longer.

I have the upside and I use it for my Levo, but I do take the battery out and the axs dropper off. Works great as my bike is sub 17kgs

Hello . I would like to ask if somebody has ever used Thule proride 598 in order to carry a Specialized Levo Sl comp. My recent Thule upride 599 which was perfect for transportation broke and unfortunately Thule does not provide spare parts in order to fix it ….They sell only completely new rack for a broken plastic cover 😠
I paid 300€ for the upride 599 and I am not willing to pay another 280€ ( current price in Greece ) , so I am thinking of buying 598 if the frame of Specialized Levo Sl can be fitted ?
At the rear bottom of the part there is a reference that 598 & 599 can transfer 20kg , which is ok for me .Any info is welcomed.

How on earth did you break that?! It’s a fairly solid piece. I’ve got both the 598 and the 599 with both working a dream. The 598 is rock solid in its clamping on the down tube and provides great stability on my analogue bikes. Internal clamp width is 80mm

Thank you for the information provided . 80mm is the down tube width , so I will give it a try …
