Kenevo Gen1 Official 2020 Kenevo Owners Thread

Decided it was time to upgrade to NSK Japan bearings. So much smoother and the rear is noticeable stiffer side to side. I expect these bearings to last of 10k+ miles

I have an S4 and fit a 210 dropper easily.

I had the same issue as you. I didn’t measure it, I just rolled with it at first. Then, when I pulled the seatpost out to install the 210 I found I was a couple mm away from the min-insert line!

210 is definitely optimized for me, its almost fully inserted. And excessive drop for sure.

Old comment but did you have to remove motor or shave those fsr bolts down that go through seat post? I have an S4 and have just ordered the 34.9 210 oneup v2. Just want to make sure I've planned ahead for it to fit. Does it slam nearly all the way down? @whiterabbit

Following this also. From the measurements ive done for my s4 the 180 has 267mm lower post (-15 for the bottom gubbins) leaving 252mm bottom of post to bottom of collar.
The s4 seems to allow 240mm depth before hitting the dimples, so the 180 post would stick out by 12mm.
Going on this the 210 would stick out by 40mm.
I would be wary of removing the dimples in case the post severed the controller cable.
 
Bolts ground. Oneup 210 34.9 fitted. Any further down and it will foul on motor/cables. Perfect height for me as is anyway. Managed to do it without dropping motor, will have to pull back apart to shorten cable outer though.

Can you do some measurements, total amount sticking out, seat height at full extension from centre of cranks etc?
I assume you didn't grind the dimples off the suspension bolts?

Yeah no worries i'll do that tonight. I did grind off the dimples just in case whilst i was bored waiting for the new seat post to turn up.

I’ve ordered a 240mm for my S4. Which parts are you grinding? Inside the frame? Haven’t checked it out yet!

These bad boys that go through to the inside of the seat tube. I just cut the nipples off and filed it neatly. Others have used a 30.9 post and a shim but I didn't like that idea. Plus the 34.9 option was 33% off for eofy so that was nice.

I'm using a 31.6 post and it would not stop the post, but does bugger it up. I ground mine down.

You have posted twice saying it messes it up and it buggers it up.
Can you clarify what you mean by these statements?
 
Clearance is about 31.5 and I'm using a 31.6. If you force it down or it slips past the nubs it will dig into the sides. With a 34.9 it will stop.

46mm sticking out above the seat post clamp.
714mm front centre of crank to centre of seat rail in clamp
 
FYI this is not the part you need for the stock bearings. The shock angle is 45 and this is a 36. You need a complete is52/30 lower set.

Well, of course you'll always need the bearing that a) fits to the bearing cup (which is integrated into the frame for the Kenevo) and b) the installed fork crown race. The Kenevo comes with a 45°x45° lower bearing, so it's 45 degrees on both sides (and 40x52x7 dimensions).

I'm contemplating if I should buy the Enduro Bearings Stainless Steel (150 SS) bearing, it's a bit expensive though.

I got last week a Kenevo Expert 2020/21 in size S4.
The dropperpost seem to be to short for me 34.9 x 160mm...i need something like 190/180 minimum,cuz i like the seatpost slam down.
Call a lot of specialized retailers but nobody know witch brand can fix in to the seat post tube.
I wonder if u know any suggestion...with out grinding the bolts of the shok-link!

I got a 210 OneUp and ground the pivot bolts!
 
Hello JSeg009 any advantages in using a Fox 40 versus a Boxxer Ultimate. I am currently in the fence whether to get a 2022 Fox 40 on my kenevo Expert.
What’s the Boxxer doing that you want to improve? I would send it to NSR racing for a damper upgrade, that will make it better in every aspect.
Or do you just want the aesthetic of the big gold Fox?
What about a Dorado instead?
 
Having just bought a used DH bike with a fox40 performance elite with the basic grip damper, it feels leagues ahead of the boxxer ultimate on my kenevo. I even bought some revgrips to see if that helped with the harshness.
I think I'll get the boxxer serviced asap with some low friction seals to see if that returns the performance.
