On some rims I've used a 2cm square of inner tube rubber with a hole smaller than the valve stem made in it, that I've then pushed the valve through to make a sealing washer between the valve and rim. Also really push down hard on the valve base when tightening the threaded nut and keep trying to tighten a few times as the valve settles into the rubber and the rim.

I've used 37 mm tape from dt Swiss on my 35 mm rims and valves from continental.
Was my first try on making my tires tubeless but worked like a charm
