E82 Dengfu frame now available

Yes the dropper post is 40mm+ too long in most of the E82 sizes. Did you find any quick and easy ways to cut it down? I'm looking to do the same myself. Another friend did it with too many hours of hand sanding/grinding.
It was done by hand! That's amazing. It took about an hour to finish using an electric sander, a flat file, and a 3mm drill. There are two slots at the front and back. The seat post is firmly fixed in place using carbon paste.

hello. what display is that and what controller-shifter goes with it? thanks
You can Google it - Bafang DPC030 or follow this link:

The thumb controller which comes with the display is almost the same as the handlebar display version.

Greetings. Has anyone contacted Dengfu for a retrofit of the dpc030? Can it be done or not?

Anyone know if Dengfu is going to produce the E82 in size S at some point in the future?
I asked Mia if they had some in stock, I would even have accepted a prototype lying in a corner, LOL, but they dont have any in stock. She didn't say if/when they were planning to make them.

hello everyone.
I gave in again and did a diy project. there is no greater joy than assembling my own ebike.
although it is not financially profitable but it is a cure for a crazy head😂😂😂.

here is a picture, components visible 11s 3p battery, 36v M510 motor. currently trying out the K1BBR combo and different firmware.
has anyone tried the 36v fw? which is the best?

yesterday I was on a test ride on an uphill I managed to see 780-790W on the screen in B mode.

Anyone know if the shock brackets on the downtube are wide enough (54mm) to accept a trunnion-mount shock?

I have made a spec sheet that allows me to compare the geometry of different bike frames. It is attached below.
I hope it will be useful to some of you when chosing a frame for a new build.
The Spread and the Spread Angle measurements follow the explanations of this video HERE (and his next one) and are determined by going HERE and entering 90 degrees at the top, your Reach as side A, your Stack as side B, and clicking Calculate. Side C will be your Spread, and angle B will be your Spread angle.
Have fun!

Thanks Xtraman! Narrower than I even expected it to be.
I was looking at the DVO Jade X Prime shocks... ;)

Hey Folks, I couldn't find the dropper insertion depth for a large frame. Looks like it won't flush with the seatpost collar but just wondering what length I can get away with on my OneUpV3 and given inseam length.

Hi guys, as I’ve understood you can’t put 230x65 without yoke modification. The travel is 191mm. Can someone tell me what would be the travel with 230x62.5 (hopefully this would fit just fine) and 230x60 repspectivelly? I’m reading ambiguous statements where someone says the real travel with 230x60 is 155mm only and dengfu says it’s 170mm. I have fox factory 38 170mm fork so do you think it’s better to fit with 230x62.5 or 230x260? Thanks.

This should help. They show 191mm rear travel with a 230x65. If you go frame by frame you can see it showing 184mm rear travel at exactly 62.5mm shock compression.

I don’t see why a 230x65 would fit any differently than a 230x62.5; they have identical lengths when extended. One would just have an additional 2.5mm of travel, no?

Thanks for response. Yes, all shocks have the same size when extended but problem might be at full compression. Some people posted a pictures of yoke with 230x65 shock installed touching the seat posts. That could be a problem. So I want to decide what would fit better with my fork 230x62.5 or 230x60. If 230x6 would give 171mm travel then probably is a better fit?

If I were you I’d just do the 62.5 then to be safe. I know I’ve seen people talk about issues with a 65 but didn’t know what the issue was, that makes sense now that you say it. I was stuck with my short 210x55 because I had bought it for an LCE971 frame, so I used the longer yoke and haven’t had any issues with the ~155mm of rear travel it provides.

But now I’m not sure and even more confused because I found one facebook post where guys showed bikes with vivid shocks installed and actually it was a very tight fit with shocked uncompressed! This I don’t understand because dengfu recommended shock is 230x60. But how is that it looks bad in extended position?? eye to eye is same 230… Dengfu Frame Ebike Owner's Group | Is anyone running a ROCKSHOX VIVID ULTIMATE rear shock on their E82 | Facebook

You’ll eventually learn you can’t trust anything these direct to consumer Chinese manufacturers put in their documentation. Bafang, Dengfu, etc. they all have horrible docs out there, often with different information in different places, nobody can concisely explain how anything actually works or provide a definitive answer, and many things are quite literally lost in translation. Even though they show a 210mm shock fitting with the longer yoke, mine was hitting the damn frame when fully extended and required me to grind a few mm from the inside of the yoke to clear it, none of it makes any sense. It’s unfortunate we don’t have any more reliable companies selling these DIY type components, you either pay through the nose for a prebuilt bike from one of the big names or deal with navigating this sea of missing or mixed information yourself based on forum posts. Dengfu changed bushing sizes for the front of the shock only on Large+ frame sizes for example, and has it documented nowhere nor will they even admit there was a change. It’s just an unmitigated disaster out there.

I have to add that I have found LightCarbon to be very on point with everything they put out and I have gotten answer to all my questions from Jim. Also extremely positive record with them even with warranty cases.

I agree, I did intentionally leave them out of my list, they seem to be the best of the bunch that I've dealt with. You can tell they seem to get the better frame manufacturing contract deals as a result, they OEM a number of fairly reputable bikes out there.

Evry one, following his experiences have different opinion. For me SZZS is the better, followed by dengfu. Light carbon is the worst, i will never purchased one more of their products. It's needed the most work to builds they bikes (battery instal for exemple), they sale bike with less reliability (LCE971) and they don't assume warranties.

About warranty, I don't know for the others ? i didn't needs her after sale support.

What happened with you and LightCarbon? What kind of a problem did you have with battery installation? What do you mean with LCE971 having less reliability?

They had lots of issues with the design of the rear triangle on the 971 frame. It kept breaking, they redesigned it 2 or 3 times. It’s the reason I have an E82 instead of the 971. My order kept getting pushed for like 4 months until I eventually just told them forget it.

Jim was pretty open with communicating during it which I appreciated, but in my opinion there was just something wrong with the design of the frame. I’m hopeful they’ll one day make a DJI frame but it’s a pipe dream. They do actually sell one Bosch frame I believe.
