DIY ebike frames

Are there any options for quite expensive Dengfu $1000 frame? I'm trying to build something with 2300 dollar budget and 1000 dollars on frame is too much. Something like 300-500 dollars would be better.

How about a self built bamboo frame ?.
I watched a vid on building a standard bamboo bike and all it was were simple bamboo tubes fixed together in premade lugs. The company looked to be a one or two man operation and the jig for holding everything accurate and true was made from extruded aluminum sections. The premises where they were building it looked like a shed.
Possible something with a twin downtube design of frame would provide a place for a powertube battery to sit and if you went the hub motor route you wouldnt need to figure out how to fit a mid drive
