Levo Gen 3 Cascade Link 2022+ Levo Long Shock Kit

I've got the long shock link with a b2 super deluxe ultimate on on an S5 with 170mm Zebs. The initial feeling with the long shock link was "I've made a mistake here", it took away that "in the bike" feeling and replaced it with "on the bike" and the saddle started getting in the way. I replaced the stock dropper with a Oneup 210mm and it sorted those problems.
I've been running back to back days with the stock link & stock rs deluxe r (the shock is ass) and the stock setup just feels like shit after the long link. it's harsh and my pedals get a beating. But for me it is better geometry wise.
Threw on an offset bushing (you can only run one) and ran higher sag today and and It's better than before, enough for me to be satisfied with it. It really is that much better in every other way but it might not be for everyone.
This still has me wondering about the stock link with a proper shock like the new Vivid or Super Deluxe ultimate, and 160mm forks. Too costly to buy to try, so I guess I'll be staying with the long link for now.
Also I'm wondering about a shorter shock with the long shock link, something like 220x55-60mm. Doesn't really exist but it should bring the bike bike down some, right?
I'm already at the end of the bell curve with my 115kg weight which never helps anything, but today the bike felt good. Really good. It's getting there.

Any issue with the offset bushing so far? Which one did you use?

I weigh about 100kg with my kit and I'm running a coil. I think a coil is a really good option if you decide to move away from your float X2.

Seems odd you can't get it right though.
What shock and spring rate are you running?

so you say this one fits also the Gen 4 Levo? What frame size are you running and what are your impresssions? Also running the gen 4 on a coil... how's that going?

Sorry for the confusion... The photo I shared is of an upcoming long link for the new Levo 2025, stolen from a Facebook post.

Hello,
Is there someone here willing to sell his Cascade Long link for Levo Gen3 ? Shipping to UK/Europe? Please excuse me for asking here, but it seems no one is answering me in their listings in this forum. If it is not okay for my post being here, please delete it. Thank you.

Can I check with a 210 mm x2 if a 230/65 one will fit my frame with the long shock link on full compression?

So I tested full compression with my 210/55 mm shock to see if it collides with the frame. And while it doesn't seem to touch the frame in the front (there should be at least 2-3 mm room to the toptube) in the back the rubber insert of the stay connecting the seatstays lightly touches the backside of the seatpost tube.

But I wonder what happens in a real world full compression with much more force and flex in the system?

Is this normal on full compression or due to my shock being to short or because of specializeds frame inconsitencies?

I can get the right length 230/65 X2 shock for a good price but I want to check before I buy. Is my assumption right that the shorter shock just has shorter travel or is the air can of the longer travel shock longer and therefore it wouldn't come that close to the frame?

No it's not normal. Cascade designed the LT link specifically for 230 x 65mm shocks. It has not been designed with 210 x 55 shocks in mind, that's why there is an entirely separate product also available for 210 x 55 shocks. If the seatstay bridge is already contacting the seatube on a unweighted bottom out test then you are asking for trouble when you bring it out on to the trail. Either get the correct shock for the LT link or return it and get the 210 x 55 link.

Am I stupid or is this 230/65 shock air can differently aligned in terms of the valve location compared to the stock shock and I can't align it how specialized aligns it on their bikes? Is this an issue or is the shock not properly assembled?

None so far and the bike has seen proper use, 20x8mm/2mm offset. The bike is really good now that I got used to it.
Did you use the fox bushings with the crush washers with the knobs or the silver rings provided by offsetbushings?

Hello, i would like to buy the long link kit for my 2022 alloy levo, and fit an air shock on it. What is the best choices ?
i am not satisfied with my Fox float X which came stock on my levo. Any advise about rockshox SDU RC2T ? with or W/o Debonair ? Ohlins TTX2 air ?
Thanks !

PS : Side question, which bushing kit do i need to install ? i get lost with all the dimension..

Assuming there isn’t a different thread for the 2025 Levo 4?
If not, I just installed the long shock kit on my Levo 4 and it’s nice. There is almost no clearance between the link and the seat tube. I don’t believe it’s resting on the seat tube but it’s close.
First ride and I like it. Little taller feeling but 10 minutes into the ride and it feels normal. Digging it.

Which shock did you choose?

Reviving an old thread here. I bought a new 2023 alloy levo s5. First ebike! Love it! I bought the cascade long travel link. I followed this thread very closely. I don’t expect any issues even verified compatibility with cascade components and the alloy frame since there were 2 versions.

Installed the link, founds that link is fine upon full compression/ bottom out with a fox x2 however with full extension the link makes contact with the seat tube. Pics attached. Just a little confused as the bike is an s5. Wondering if I’m missing something

Happy holidays

I assume the linkage is the correct way up?

Edit. Actually it looks correct.

I assume the shock is correct size.

I have an s5 too with a rockshox super deluxe ultimate coil. I don't have that issue.

Strange.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah the shock is 230 x 65. The more I think about it, the more I realize the stock linkage doesn't rest on the frame even with the stock shock out. So i'm perplexed as well. I will continue to tinker and report back

I assume the shock is bolted up on the front end yeah? And no offset bushings or anything weird.

Could you provide a picture from a wider view to get the whole thing in?

I cant imagine why it would hit frame on that. The only reasons I could think of are that:

Shock is somehow longer than 230,
Shock not bolted to frame
The plastic spacer/washer things that sit in the bearings (if I remember right) might be missing.
The wishbone part of the linkage is somehow machined too short.

I'm just thinking random stuff out loud here :D

Yea I was wondering the same, if somehow I got a previous version. I reached out to Cascade, but I don't expect to hear from them until next week. There can totally be some user/installer error here. I will post pictures ASAP another set of eyes is really appreciated

edit: I don't believe I missed any washers as everything was transferred over to the CC link as I disassembled the stock link and there was an equal number of parts. The shock I am pretty confident is the correct size. It says the size on the shock, and it was initially on my 23 megatower before I removed it to have it serviced. That bike will MAX take a 230x65 with a stock size of 230 x 62.5. This x2 was the longer travel upgrade i bought. I made to sure to have the DU bushing rear with the aluminum washers, and the front 8x20
