I've run a preliminary test on firmware 1.6 with the older M560, and there are no positive changes. The motor continues to provide assist after I stop pedaling, and the torque sensor is still unsatisfactory.
 
Thats funny, that people experience long after-run. I suppose it is some fault with torque sensor. There must be still some timeout to sop assisting - but it is with M560 less then 0.4 s which is completelly fine.

Good news guys, updated M560 FC2.0 will have 27Amps. Is just 100W more, but also good.
Avinox really pushed it into different World with M2S.

Yes, just this motor only in 19amps (a.k.a 500W nominal) and in reality it is 730W peak on a wheel. So it is power like Bosch gen.5

And is not compatible with M560 firmwares.

Does anyone know the motor numbers for the latest " quiet " 500W motor. One has just landed at my door with

MM G5300.500.C1.0

on the motor itself is 1.0 032.4/3.4 01.2

Not sure that its not the old FC1.0 motor ?

Firmware is MMG5300C4819F801032.4
 
That quiter is labeled as 1.0 01.6/ ...
Also your can be from this hw batch. Your firmware is 32.4

I dont know what they have done (gears with better tolerance, other bearings?)
But, what I am noticing now, is a whinning sound at higher rpms. Now it is annoying me even more than the previous noise. ;)

There is now also M560 FC2.0 woth 27A.

its that whining that is really annoying, unfortunately my cadence is in the 80 - 100rpm. They do wear in a bit but its a noisy puppy at the moment.
 
Yes, that whining high pitch sound. Was not noticing on previous M560.
Dont understand, windings are not rigid enough? Controller same, firmware also. Or coming from bearings at hight rpms?

I have both an HPC Trailblazer with 2000w/185Nm M560 & another with the Ex-force 2500w M560.
While I haven't had the opportunity to "race" an Amflow the numbers speak for themselves....ie. an M560 with aftermarket controller will smoke a "legal" 250w nominal bike. Check this out..

I've had the HPC for 2+ years & couldn't be happier, smooth power delivery & I am unaware of motor noise over ambient trail noise. I just recently got the Ex-force & while faster, I am having some tuning issues with power delivery which should be dealt with.

I think comparing an Amflow to a modified M560 is unfair in that the M560s I have are un-restricted 35+mph bikes unburdened by stupid arbitrary power/speed limits.
 
Did you make any additional modifications to the M560 when adding the Exforce controller? Does the original HFL1426 one-way clutch hold up to that extra power?

I bought a complete motor from Ex-force w/controller installed. They informed me that Bafang has a new torque sensor which I'll get which they believe will smooth the power delivery. The standard 1-way clutch hasn't been a problem on the HPC for 2 years so I don't anticipate a problem with the extra 500w. HPC offers a 52v/20.5ah battery if you need extra range.

I have had to replace the clutch on my M620 twice.
 
If same bearing it will be gone soon. ;) At standard 25A it is in low thousands of km.

If bafang will redesign this bearing for bigger one, and with square shape windings we can go to that 1700W - 2000W peak electrical.

If you will ever get a chance to open the motors please take and post the pictures of those Exforce and HPC motors inside. We want to see those controllers or whatever they did.

The original Bafang M560 clutch was able to hold even more than 3000W of power when I used it with the new INNOTRACE M560 motor controller, but not for too long. A lot of power and torque won't kill it instantly, but if you use it regularly it will probably die pretty soon. At least Bafang uses steel gears and not that plastic crap other manufacturers utilize.

Done about 100km now and the motor is quietening down a bit. Quite a lot still of the electrics noise rather than gear noise. My M820 is not unsimilar but still way louder than the original FC01 M510’s which were so quiet.

Quite rideable straight out the box, sorry but I like the amount of over run.
 
Is my motor missing a seal on this side, is there supposed to be a gasket here? Just looks like theres something missing but maybe im off.

It may look it is missing but the seal sits just behind the Aluminium surrounding the crank. It’s tiny about 4mm thick and the same in depth.

That seal is the problem so many of us get water ingress into the motor as I think the factory inserts it the wrong way around. It’s set to prevent grease from the motor getting out not water getting into the motor. The M820 motor actually faces that seal the other way around.

Check but I think if you look on your spider that it sits about 0.3mm from that engine face. There is also a circular ridge that runs about 25mm radius out but just inside the spider. I’ve been filling that void with water proof grease to stop water getting to the seal. My plan is to every 500km or so refill with new grease just like you would on a boat propellor shaft. It’s a plan but as yet I haven’t done enough mileage to validate this theory. Maybe a tiny bit of extra drag but I’m doing a motor every winter here riding in our mud and slop.

An Y cable for 3rd motor connector. And you cable then speed sensor and shift sensor here.

I’ve never seen anyone incorporate one of these with the M series motors, but there’s nothing specific to the motor it works with, it would connect in the same way one of the brake sensors would. They operate in the same manner simply opening/closing a circuit when the brake is pulled or shift wire is moving.

I use this shift sensor and its exactly like how u described it, I actually got rid of it after using it for 800km's because I started finding it annoying that the power would just cut off completely. I was never reaching continously 1250w or 500w for example.

Once I shifted late and there was an obstacle coming the motor power would cut off and that 0.5 second cutoff would be enough to get me to a stop, due to being in the wrong gear at the wrong time. Def a skill issue tho.

For now I won't use it but later on I might re add it to just have less wear on everything.
