I had to try updating a couple of times before it updated to the latest firmware
Are you riding a Rail with a Gen4? Curious because I have the same thing going on (Trek Rail 9.8 AXS T-Type Gen4) -- up-to-date on the firmware (16.19.0 for the drive / 16.12.1 for the system controller) and yet still no option to add-in eMTB+. Yes; I know one needs to look at the selectable option list and activate what modes you want to be loaded on the bike up to 4 of them.

I even visited my LBS and had them plug it in to the Bosch diagnostic software. I was looking at the screen with the tech and that also did not show eMTB+ as a selectable option nor that there are any outstanding firmware updates needed across the system (I was having some trouble getting the updates over the air but that eventually worked itself out). While I don't know that I care all that much about it as I'm happy with what I have, I had to visit my LBS for a few other things so figured I'd have them look while there. It is curious that some folks are saying that they have eMTB+ on a Gen4 Trek Rail and others are seeing what I am.

I have a MY2025 Trek Rail+ 9.7 Gen 5
Drive unit BDU3840 (EB11 100 00E) with software version 16.19.0
System controller EB13 100 000 with software version 16.12.1

100NM available across all riding modes.
eMTB+ not showing as an option.

I believe the upgrade has something to do with the brand of the bike not just an update to the flow app

Mine worked after a couple days and cube realised an announcement that is ready.

Wish mine would update. Says failed everytime. Did this on the last update. Had to visit the dealer after bricking it!!

Mikerb , I have a 2023 Whyte E160 RSMX , Gen 4 I have updated the app - Android . latest ,still not getting the EMTB+ , in the app after connecting to the bike , still the same original riding modes - Did you have any issues with your Whyte and upgrade Gen 4.
My whyte won't update. Says failed everytime! Annoying!!!

Well after loaning my Rail to a mate since February I finally got it home today. Did the update 7/25 and I have EMTB+ just fine (Gen 4 smart) simple and easy update took about 12 mins.

Will take it for a spin soon.

I was able to get the update installed on my CX at the shop, we had to run the first update then close the Bosch software, re-open it and the second update was there, turned the power down to 95 and so far its great.

Got bike out this morning in preparation for a ride and got another Bosch bike update, having already completed last (eMTB+) update a couple of weeks ago! Can’t see any obvious difference in anything, perhaps a few tweaks and debugging??

Now on App Version: 1. 28. 12

Hopefully they’re working on a class 3 update for the CX4 and 5 to keep up with specialized and Avinox.

What do you mean by class 3 update? That the user can switch an original as class 1 sold motor to class 3 specs?

Knowing Bosch, I think that is not likely. But they do offer the CX Gen5 Speed motor, which is specified as a class 3 motor.

In the US, both DJI and Specalized have an option in their display menu to enable class 3 which allows the bike to go 28mph or 45Kmh for metric folks.

I would tend to agree with this, as I have had two conversations with one of the USA Tech Reps at two different industry shows and bumped into her both times. Her answer was the same on this issue, a very firm and flat: "No". She went on to explain about "liability" and the fact they have "over 200 attorneys" that work for Bosch..... of course this was all before the Specialized Gen 4 Turbo Levo came out. Maybe they will be forced to re-think?

This would lead me to believe their lawyers were not very good. All road vehicles and recreational vehicles that have been created, (both 2 and 4 wheeled) can go faster than any speed limits. But the liability for not following laws or speed limits is always with the consumer/vehicle owner and not the manufacturers. Why should ebikes be any different? So Specialized and now Avinox have realized that this is what a high percentage of consumers want, (the ability to pedal at least as fast as an analog bike can) so they gave us the class 3 28mph speed option, along with simple disclaimers that put the liabilities on the consumers. This is great and I think that any ebike/motor manufacturers that don’t follow suit are going to lose a lot of future sales to those that do have the class 3 option. My next ebike will for sure have the class 3 option or I won’t buy it. If manufacturers want to be successful, they need to give the consumers what they want.

I absolutely agree, and I gave those arguments to my Bosch "contact" both times I talked in person with them. The (bigger?) issue is that the eBike motor stuff is like 1% of Bosch's global revenue, if that.... so the attention to detail and demand is very low. IMO, when other MFG's start doing what DJI and Specialized have don it will put pressure on Bosch to change their views. Until then I feel it is a deaf brick wall :-(

Is this the correct screen to upgrade to the 400c?

£160 with code

Yes, that is the correct screen. But you need a frame with a large enough cutout in the top tube to fit the Kiox 400C. The offer does not include the cable to connect your motor with the Kiox 400C. If you have a system controller on your bike you can use that cable.

Transition regulator so has the cut out, I have the adaptor plate for the screen. So I'm all good I think! Thanks
