This would lead me to believe their lawyers were not very good. All road vehicles and recreational vehicles that have been created, (both 2 and 4 wheeled) can go faster than any speed limits. But the liability for not following laws or speed limits is always with the consumer/vehicle owner and not the manufacturers. Why should ebikes be any different? So Specialized and now Avinox have realized that this is what a high percentage of consumers want, (the ability to pedal at least as fast as an analog bike can) so they gave us the class 3 28mph speed option, along with simple disclaimers that put the liabilities on the consumers. This is great and I think that any ebike/motor manufacturers that don’t follow suit are going to lose a lot of future sales to those that do have the class 3 option. My next ebike will for sure have the class 3 option or I won’t buy it. If manufacturers want to be successful, they need to give the consumers what they want.
