Before this, my app did not show me with any update needed. I had to uninstall the app and then reinstall. Then after some time, the app said there was a new update. It took me through that whole long process and only then did the EMTB+ show up.

Yeah,

It took me 4 uninstall/reinstalls for it to work.

After contacting Haibike I can now confirm that they have blocked ("not released"?) the 100Nm part of the Bosch performance update, see the response below:-
UPDATE
Shame they did not let us know in advance via their newsletter.o_O

Hello xxxxxxx,
thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, we are not yet able to release the Bosch update to 100 Nm; this is currently still being tested internally on our models.
Best regards.

I wonder how Haibike could in any way influence the software update given every aspect of the Bosch Smart System is controlled by Bosch with updates delegated to bike owners with an account via the Flow App. Haibike could choose not to update gen5 motored bikes before being sold but I don't see how they could prevent the owner doing the update.

Me also but it is a fact! I got all, as far as I am aware, of the update (Emtb+, 750W, battery lock etc) except the 100Nm.
Also seems Haibike may nor be alone in blocking the 100Nm, there is a suggestion in another thread that Cube may be the same.

Bosch know which bike you have and they stated that manufactures would have the ability to control which models they would roll the update out for.

In which case Bosch would have had to have more than one version of the update depending on the registered serial number of the motor and you would have expected it to include an (i) information note stating 85nm capped by the brand.
No wonder the update was so problematic for many folk if that was/is the case.
Taking the bike to any Bosch dealer to hook up to the Bosch diagnostics app would prove the point one way or the other.

I have a Cube one77 2025 and I received the 100nm update via flow on Android last week no problem

Giving bike mfg's the choice to release updates on their bike does make sense. If they design their bikes (bearings, carbon layups, components) around certain power levels there is a chance that changing those power levels could have an inverse effect on the bikes performance or durability.

Same thing happened with the Ghost E-Riot. They replied to a few of their customers with the same email. I think they are just lazy.

First ride on my Whyte E160RSX (gen 4 motor) after doing the update. It was a country ride with quite a bit of climbing in the first third of the 16 mile ride some of it against the wind....... but nothing very technical.
I have emtb and emtb+ tuned the same and emtb is usually the only mode I use tuned at 5/3.
Can't say I noticed any difference between emtb and emtb+........certainly nothing the difference of one gear change would not nullify.
Neither provides as much assist as turbo at 65/70 cadence.
Maybe at a slower speed and correspondingly higher cadence on a steeper more technical climb any difference with emtb+ may be more noticeable?
Mikerb , I have a 2023 Whyte E160 RSMX , Gen 4 I have updated the app - Android . latest ,still not getting the EMTB+ , in the app after connecting to the bike , still the same original riding modes - Did you have any issues with your Whyte and upgrade Gen 4.

Ok, my turn to look tech illiterate...

I updated the bike last week with my brother's iphone, now I want to connect with my android phone which should be at the same update version. Bike refuses connection... Anyone out there dual wielding phones that can confirm if you can connect multiple phones to a single bike? (I have already deleted the bike from my brother's app, and done multiple on/offs and flow redownloads)

Bosch does not need multiple versions.
As long as the bike manufacturer blocks the update, Bosch simply doesn’t provide the necessary update files to the Flow app.
The ability for bike manufacturers to block Bosch updates has always been clearly communicated by Bosch with every update in the past.

Man I can't get the the update to complete on my CX, it seems to go through the motions but fails. Uninstalled and re-installed the app a few times with no luck, guess I gotta bring it to the shop.

It is unlikely that people who believe the world is flat will be convinced it is a sphere regardless of what evidence is presented to them.

Right, I've found the solution and it seems an error in my understanding. Once the power updates were installed, the riding modes didnt show any change. I only had the four 'current' riding modes displaying (Turbo, eMTB, TOUR+ and ECO.) I could select 'Custom Riding Modes' from the home screen on the Flow app and customise the existing modes. However, to activate the new modes you need to select 'edit list' from the Custom Riding Modes screen and turn on the new modes. Obvious in hindsight I supose. They were off by default after the update and thus didn't display at all. I had no idea and just expected the new modes to display by default.

Anyway I thought I'd post this incase any new user like myself found the same difficulty.
Thanks for this , worked for me also , now have emtb+ , although I cannot really discern any difference on my GEN 4 after a quick loop on the local trail from emtb

Ah....I was about to reply but see you have discovered how to get emtb+. I had no issues doing the update but like you I am yet to feel any difference using emtb+. I'm told the difference may be noticeable on the sort of steep techy climb where speed is slow and cadence high in a very low gear. I have only done one ride since the update but no such climbs on it so I will need to pick one and session it.....if I can be bothered!!

So the first ride after the update on my Mondraker Crafty 2025 / Gen 5

Test the Turbo, all settings to +5 . Well, the bike is a beast . Straight KOM on a longish uphill with around 200m vertical without to much hassle. The bikes wants you to pull on a high gear but things calm down super quickly as you reach the speed limit you feel like someone is pulling your brakes. Rode 500m of vertical basically non stop at 28-30 degrees but with some downs in the middle. 85kgs, no derrating at all. Don't have the proper super long climb near me to go full beans for that long but I would get wasted faster than the engine. I'm decently fit but for me the joy of an ebike is to climb in peace to the top so I can enjoy going down.

The EMTB+ is the sweetspot , perfect control, loads of power and don't seem to have a major impact over battery .

Haven't tested a DJI but honestly anything above the new Turbo levels I'll put in a motorbike field .

Have you left the EMTB+ as standard or have you tweaked the Assistance and/or the Dynamic settings?

yes missed your post yesterday ref editing , but all good now , I did a fair bit of climbing today but nothing super steep, i think i saw a little bit more battery drain based on my previous use of emtb , same custom setting etc,

Bone stock. As it came. Honestly don't feel the need to change it. Maybe when reaching some rough technical stuff could tone done the Assist or how is it call the overrun setting but not fully convinced.

“The update will increase the support, what I usually call “amplification”. Currently it will amplify the rider input by up to 340%. After the update, it will amplify by up to 400%

Performance remains unaltered at 600 W peak power and 85 Nm of torque.”
Forgive my ignorance, but to me, this seems like it will address some of the complaints about having to really spin the SX to get max power, right? This means you could pedal about 15% less (input 15% fewer watts via pedal effort) for the same amount of motor output. That would make the SX much more appealing to me.

Guys, emtb+ is literally flying up the hill with so much range today!

Don't worry I'll put the turd emoji on my own post :poop:

Quick update. Had a ride yesterday with my daughter on the Shotgun child mount so :

- around 105 to 110 kg in total with her and the support
- really hot outside , between 25 to 30 degrees celsius.
- 550 m altidude difference - steady climb in EMTB+ (stock settings, 100nm, 750wh) for around 30 minutes

Was rushing a bit as a thunderstorm was imbound so towards the end I could feel the motor derrating / throttling but not that bad .
These were quite extreme conditions for me, so not sure when I'll encounter them again but I would say EMTB on the 85nm / 600wh are recommended if you are over 100 kgs and going to climb really long sections.

I’ve updated to the latest Flow and motor firmware and I have 100NM, but I still don’t have eMTB+. It’s not in the edit modes list, either. Anyone else found a way around this?
