120 Nm update for the Bosch CX and CX Race Announced

Up to 24hours to take for what? 😅 to refresh the sync from the bike to the app?
Sorry, but this is poor sw development.
Sounds like a proper Bosch, ZIV(German Bicycle Industry)-certified implementation — capped power, delayed sync, and just enough performance to stay nicely within the “guidelines” 😄

If it was configured they way you're depicting that would still involve recording the activity in Flow app and only the final activity results would be pushed through to Garmin API.

The main trick here is to make power/cadence data avaialble in real time to an external device during the activity
So (user) power & cadence data should now make it into the Garmin Connect ecosystem via my Garmin device? Presumably I’ll have to pair the Bosch motor with the `Garmin device for this to work?

I had to uninstall and then reinstall the app twice to get it done but I've had a quick ride up and down the road and it definitely feels quicker

I tried it. My Garmin watch detected the new sensor and paired with it. But, it is described as “Shifting”, and there’s no power data in the activity file I created from a short test.

Am I missing something?

You're missing the fact that Garmin integration is only for selected Edge devices - x40 and x50 series + Edge MTB. Even for those you need to be on a latest Beta version of the Edge fw.

My app has updated but with having an SX motor, I’m now a bit concerned the Garmin sync might not work on my system. There was no mention of the Garmin compatibility on the App Store, so is that still in development, to be rolled out? Surely there is no way the Bosch app (on the App Store) knows I don’t have a CX?

I understand that there is specific integration for selected Edge devices, to enable the Garmin device to serve as a monitor of sorts including battery, range, assist modes and more. But I am just looking/hoping for live access to cadence and power data, and for this data to then be included in Garmin activity files. Does the update not facilitate this?

It does but as I mentioned already you need two things for it to work:

1/ Latest Bosch update (although for me Garmin integraiton worked with Flow app v.1.34)
2/ Latest beta firmware on your Edge x40/x50

There's currently no other way to integrate Garmin and Bosch without 3rd party tools like a Bulcan dongle

Try it and see if it works. Once done share your results with the forum so others can also benefit

Bit of a deliberation on this actually, as I currently have the edge130 plus which won’t work anyway. I was looking to get a 540 and this update might just have swayed me as I have the basic five-bar display on the top tube, while ok, more data on battery and range would be helpful. I’m not minded to drop £240ish on a 540 if the Garmin Live Data doesn’t work on an SX system.

I'm 90% sure Garmin integration should work with any Bosch Smart System bike which would include Gen4 Smart System, SX and Gen5 but ultimately it's your money and your call.

Im looking forward to trying out the update. I am glad Bosch stayed true to the 750W upper limit. I think it is the right way to go for sustainable riding. Also it is more than enough for my type of riding.
Does anyone have more information about Sram AXS shifting compatibility?

I found it mentioned here:

I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled. installed the update twice. The mode % usage on the display is now displaying the incorrect information. Also got a motor error code which disappeared, didn’t get a screenshot.

I’ll wait to see what happens in 24hrs

Is there any way of reverting back to a previous software version ?

Gone to Components > Drive unit… then what?

There’s no option to do anything while I’m there.
Which bike do you have? Is there a possibility that your manufacturer has not/will not approve of the new torque numbers?

I thought I saw it mentioned somewhere that there would be an option to enable 80% charge limits on the battery but I can’t find it anywhere. Anyone have that?

100% I was keen to get the update to see if they had increased the default values in the different riding mode, seems not, not planning to change them either. Very happy with emtb+ mode in its default settings.

Fact that they don’t already have a way to send power data to my Garmin Fenix really annoys me though….that to me would be a proper game changer

Bit of an anti climax 😂

Installed the update but couldn’t get the one on the drive unit. Uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. Still no joy

Just rode with 100nm but tbh coming from my 85nm gen4 it felt mega. Would have been nice to use the day to setup the new torque but hey ho

EDIT: Soon as I put the bike in the garage, uninstalled and reinstalled again - hey presto done :ROFLMAO:

It's there - just follow these steps:

So, it is possible to select sensors one by one? That sounds good! I was afraid that it is all or nothing, because the speed what the bike thinks is not quite right. Even worst, if speed data would go back to the bike and it would realize it is incorrect. ... but if the speed can be excluded, that is great. I'll rather wait for the release on the edge 1040, not installing beta firmware, but it would be great to see user input power in the logs. JG

Oh it’s already mentioned in the anouncement today that it will be released for customization in mid-2026
I would love for them to also add more clear settings. I know there was a lot of hoopla about customization in their teasers, so I am remaining positively optimistic that it will improve. I would like the assistance to be more clear rather than "+5", etc. Can you just tell us the assistance level in clear, easy to understand terms? Like are all assistance setting the same percentage, but the adjustment makes it come on quicker, or is the 0 level actually not the advertised 340/400/600%?
