Article Video: Teewing Flux 180mm, high-pivot, Avinox EMTB first look and ride

Longer travel fork with steepened head angle will raise the front of the bike and slacken the seat angle. It will change the position of the rider, having them further back. Need to check warranty implications as well.
Ok thanks for the calm and level foresight Astro66.... kinda shows up really to much over thinking.... making the approach on, as it arrives then just go ride this beast 👍

Hmmm ...... It does appear setting the flip chip to 29er does lower the BB according to the geo specs. So yes. The rear triangle angle must change to rake it out, rather than as I thought, just make the chainstay longer. I guess that makes sense.
Yeah, in my mind, that is one of the big advantages of the new Amflows. Along with more increments in the chainstay setting, they have a greater spread in the Hi/Low setting, so with a 27.5" wheel you can lengthen the chainstay (which will drop the bike) but then put it in the Hi shock setting and get back close to where you started. Or if you like the low BB too, but find the bike is too raked out, you could flip the Headset cups to steepen the front end back to close to the starting point. I wish Teewing had incorporated some of those features but, every bike is a compromise in one way or another, so I guess we just need to pick the one that'll work best for us.

Think I’m finally going to be placing my Flux order end of the week. Darren from drip informed me Fox unfortunately stopped making the 38 180mm in Orange, so I’m deciding how to finalize my build.

I asked about paint and he said they’re looking at partnering up with a place that can wrap the frame instead of actually painting it, anyone have experience with wraps on a frame? I’d be afraid of longevity and appearance, seems like on something like a bike frame you’d inevitably end up with a lot of seams.

Regarding the orange fork, just buy one in 170mm and get a 180mm air shaft fitted :)

Most wraps from a distance look fine, just depends how picky you are :)
But a proper wrap shop would do a pretty good job I assume.

Most wrap a bike with something like ride wrap anyway. If a wrap is done correctly, the seams will be placed in inconspicuous places.

Wow ....... Selling like hotcakes here in Australia.

Frames sold out. Pro sold out. Blue One A sold out. Only Black One A in mediums left.

Darren from drip (The only US distributor so far) told me their demand has been much higher than expected as well and they're trying to get extra shipments from Teewing.

Whilst they took a little while to sell out, I’m not surprised. The more I see pricing of other M2S options the more comfortable I am with my choice.
The Crestline frameset according to that thread is $12.5k AUD landed. The Flux frameset is $7k..
That is such a massive difference. I wish the Flux had the adjustable dropouts like the Crestline, but that ain’t worth $5.5k to me.
The Velduro is probably the closest but it’s $2.3k aud more when you factor in the shock and fast charger.
I’d like the see Teewing offer a flip chip on the seat stay to lengthen chainstay even more and it would be nice for a carbon rocker to cut some weight and bling the frame up a bit :)

What a beast of a bike.
Full 29er and it's still turning on a dime. Now it's only missing a good fork. That Zeb is way to harsh for me.

Really? I thought I always saw people say the Zeb was really plush. I’m debating whether to go Rockshox or Fox on my build and can’t decide. I was actually leaning more towards Zeb/Vivid.

It's brand new and I haven't taken it one apart yet. I know some new forks need some love directly from the box. But I have a Öhlins Rxf 38 on the way so it will be fun to test them against each other. As a Swede and ex motorcycle guy my heart bangs a little harder for Öhlins 😁

Interesting. All the reviews I’ve seen of the 2027 ZEB says it’s super plush. Most are running 10-15 psi higher than they were with previous models. I’m still going back and forth as to what suspension I want to run, RS, FOX, DVO… so many awesome choices these days.

Its the 2026 model

My Zeb Ultimates are miles better than any 38s I've ran in the past. Far easier to get setup and have a bigger window that the adjustments actually work in.

Update. Be aware of the bolt for the swingarm behind the jockey wheel. It has a tendency to work itself lose. I noticed that my right krank started to rub against the outer bolt for the jockey wheel. And when I pulled it off the inner bolt what's completely loose.

Just sent my final build over to drip today! Went with a Blue frame, Zeb/Vivid Ultimate, DT Swiss HXC1501 wheels, OneUp dropper, X0, MT7 brakes, Race Face stem/carbon bars/pedals.

Does it have locktite from factory?

Nice, similar build to me, I swapped the XO for GX and went with Maven Silvers vs the MT7's. When is it supposed to be delivered?

Will likely be quite a while. Likely end of June/early July unless he’s able to get a shipment sent in via air, which he’s trying to swing, but not holding my breath.

gotcha, mine is on the long boat ride over and should be in the May shipment unless that got delayed.

Still undecided whether to get it wrapped or not, they can apparently do some pretty impressive graphics work on them if you want to pay. I’ve been playing around with color schemes. I’ve always liked the Yeti blue, made this sort of Orbea inspired design with a similar blue. I’d want the blue to be more like a true Yeti style blue, but you get the idea.

Just had my new Fox 38 Chrome Gold decals turn up, as well as the Chrome Gold Fox Float X decals. Both will be sitting over Metallic Lavender vinyl wrap, as per the design.

I also just built both wheels as per my original design. The wheels look amazing. But I'm not as impressed when I put the black tyres on them. So I'm trying to decide whether to order tanwall tyres or not ?

Nice!

Who did you get your decals through?
Float X decal from Spain. They were the only people doing a Chrome Gold. Other companies gold, was more a matte gold.

The Fox 38 decal came from Ukraine. Once again. I wanted Chrome Gold.

@dyldebus any updates on how the Flux rides since you’ve had it for a while?
Sadly I’ve only done about 4 rides on it. I’ve been traveling for work. Back at it this weekend. I don’t have a ton of experience with long travel bikes outside of a downhill rental. Compared to my medium frame Yamaha Moro 07 which was 160/150 the flux feels insane but it also has much better components.

I was still getting used to the 29 up front with the slack head tube angle. A few tight corners that I normally make no problem were tripping me up at speed.

The big downhill chunky descents were a massive difference. Very confident and not bouncing all over the place like the Yamaha. I feel like I can go way faster. I’m not sure if that’s the travel, the components or the high pivot. Or maybe all 3.

Oh yeah baby ...... The Flux has landed in Australia. It's at the Queensland Store. But NSW certification is not ready yet, so I'm getting it shipped to Canberra where I can pick it up, without the certification. Certification should be completed end of May. But I cannot wait.

So I'm picking it up on the 16th of May in Canberra, which is a 3 hour drive.

Sooooo stoked ....... 🎉🎉🎉

How good it is to receive Pushy's email, looks like l missed out on a call, but not to worry, the good times sounded in shared with Astro66.... there has been a landing down under.... We have the Flux people!

All parts sourced and received for the Flux frame build, some upgraded add ons from the Norco, all to be rolling out on the trails sometime soon.
