Article Video: Teewing Flux 180mm, high-pivot, Avinox EMTB first look and ride

lol, it does look classy, I’ll give you that. Just never been a big fan of gold myself. What I definitely don’t like is the blue frame with kashima, so if I go blue it’ll be a Rockshox setup.

Decisions decisions… GX or X0, Carbon or Aluminum wheels.
They had a Blue and Kashima at Sea Otter, it looked pretty decent. Only thing I would have changed is the gold stem cap and spacers and gone black. Their color was a little off. Could always do Performance Elite fork and shock if you didn’t want the Kashima and didn’t want to go Rock Shox. In person though, that Superman combo was pretty clean.

That actually doesn't look bad, you're right.

Oh man, you took my idea of using a red spring if I go with the superman theme! And are those the MT7s on there I see? You have almost the same build I'm considering, even down to the tires lol.
Yep MT7s (used to MT5s). I9 hub sounds awesome. So far my only complaint is that SRAM still ships AXS chargers with micro USB. What decade is this…

More pics. Have to go back to work for a bit.

Damn, more people doing the Superman, might have to change mine up. Go with Ohlins and make it like Wolverine or go DVO and add some green parts.

That looks pretty good actually!
What size is it?
Size Large. Feels like the same size as my Santa Cruz Tallboy if that helps anyone.

Did a quick street lap (still need to ride wrap)

Motor is just silly fast. Ive never tried an M1

There are tool storage threads in the underside of the top tube.

Reverb AXS doesn’t quite drop as far as I’d like or am used to but I’ll give it a go.

Hard to really gauge anything yet.

Feels like a super solid bike. Very quiet. Shifting without pedaling is weird as hell.

What ridewrap kit did you go with? I'm thinking the covered should be enough.

The way your plant looks makes me think my original plan with the orange would be fine. It was just some of the pics in the bright sun that made the paint look really light that made me question it. Seems like Superman is popular, I don’t want to cramp anyone’s style 😂

From what I’ve heard, AMFLOW went and bought all the cables for the new M2/M2S motor. Pretty much a dick move on AMFLOW and SRAM for allowing it to happen. Not sure how those of us that don’t have an AMFLOW are gonna get a cable and they changed them so the M1 motor cable doesn’t work.
See the SRAM AXS Cable thread. I'm building a cable.

Hmmm ....... Bloody Amflow buying out all the AXS Power cables. As I said above. Check the cable thread. You are going to want Smoothshift and Chain protection. They are game changers.

Oh BTW. Bloody nice looking bike (y)

Hang on. It looks like you have a battery ? Are you saying Smoothshift works without the cable ?
No, you need the cable! I had to install it (not hard). Now I have 2 batteries for the post dropper.

Decided to avoid the hassle of the ride wrap for now. Took the bike out yesterday evening for a ride. Absolutely love it. Climbing is insane on turbo but Auto feels like an analog bike somehow. Maybe it's the same on the Amflow but I've never tried the Avinox motor until now. Still getting used to the newer SRAM pods for shifting/post dropper.

Chunky downhills were so fun. Definitely a huge step up from my Moro 07. Everything feels very stable. I'm not bouncing all over the place like I was previously. Looking forward to trying out different suspension settings and tinking with things.

OK, finally the official, long awaited, yet readable, kinematic graphs for the the Flux, compliments of the Drip folks:

Up till now, I've been trepidatious to fully consider this bike without having these in hand. They seem to have done their homework. Some quick thoughts:
  1. Still holding out until I see wheel-path graph. Hopefully this will be coming.
  2. Impressed by the anti-rise graph (my preference for it to be well below 100%) to reduce brake jack.
  3. Leverage ratio slightly less progressive than the Rogue but more progressive than the e-Dred
  4. Ramp nearly linear on all setting so air shock could work well in all modes. Coil more welcome in the progressive setting.
  5. 36/34 point to take anti-squat graph a decent balance in lieu of a range graph.
Based on what I see so here and not having a wheel-path graph, I would personally run the bike MX, but in the 29er setting.

If you ran the bike MX but in the 29er position wouldn’t that rake everything out and lower the BB substantially?

Wouldn't extending the chainstay on a high pivot raise the BB ?
I think if you have a 29er fitted and have it in 29 mode the h/a and BB height will be as designed, but if you then fit a 27.5 wheel it would drop the rear down substantially and rake it out. Might still be rideable, just depends how much it rakes it out.

Hmmm ...... It does appear setting the flip chip to 29er does lower the BB according to the geo specs. So yes. The rear triangle angle must change to rake it out, rather than as I thought, just make the chainstay longer. I guess that makes sense.

It be good about now to read into a few more reviews....

I got this question in my head it sounds doable but feedback is welcome....

If l were to raise the Zeb to 190mm, adding a +5 angle set if need be to steepen, while running in low position, keeping the 27.5 in short CS retaining 178mm travel.

What then could these changes be read about expected geo outcome.
Cheers!

Longer travel fork with steepened head angle will raise the front of the bike and slacken the seat angle. It will change the position of the rider, having them further back. Need to check warranty implications as well.
