You can use an easy out to get the stripped screw out. Also use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat up the screw to loosen any loctite.That is one of the features of the Avinox… if you put in a iot SIM card you are able to use bunch of features including real time tracking, OTA updates, data syncing etc
It’s such a small screw using a heat gun would heat up the entire unit. Was thinking about maybe touching the screw head with a soldering iron for a second. Have you used the correct tool?Be careful when trying to get the sim slot cover off the display. They use locktite and those screws are tiny. One of mine just won’t budge and I stripped the head. So pissed. Gonna take it to a mobile phone repair place and see if they can extract the screw.

So did my second ride today. 3 laps of the Luge in OC. I decided to put the hammer down to see what it could do. It’s just crazy good. I ended up with 5% battery left and it slowed considerably on the 3rd lap. Probably thermal overload. So I put it in auto once that happened. Still awesome ride. The bike was really really good. 49 achievements and 12 KOM’s!

TBF most of those KOMS include lots of traversing/climbing, not strictly DH.... no surprise a bike with an Avinox M2S is going rip.
I lamented with my buddies, the most part, only a few of us are actively chasing MTB KOMs at one of our local spots... super fun to win/lose/win. However we're all on Shimano/Bosch equipped bikes. Once someone gets an Avinox, game over.
Definitely had blue thread lock on the screw that came out.Have you used the correct tool?
I would definitely try with a JIS, at proper size, and press it (like a lot) + rotate (carefully).
The threads don't seemed to have had threadlock.
An alternative, e just to drill the head (CAREFULLY!) and remove the rest of the bolt once the cap is out with pliers (needle nose pliers)
An easy out is a drill bit with reverse threads on it. It goes into a t-handle or a drill on low speed then into the stripped hole in the top of the screw head and you twist it out. It’s easy, hence the name “easy out”. You can get them at any hardware store or on amazon. They come in various sizes and they’re pretty cheap too. TBF, I said “the bike rips”. The bike includes the motor. It means the whole package is fast, up and down. I never specified DH only or it’s all me. So yes the bike including the motor are responsible for those KOM’s, along with a little help from me. But, on the actual Luge DH segment, I was still I was only 3 seconds off my PR, on the second ride. But that is a very popular segment and a lot of really really fast guys do it, (I’ve seen and met Ryan Pinkerton and Brian Lopes there). But I’m way past my prime and there’s no way I’ll be getting a KOM on that segment. But my PR of 3:17, (153rd all time out of 2,473 and my 3:20 from yesterday is 27th out of 535 so far this year) is not too shabby for a 60yr old geezer. But my whole point was, the bike rips, look what I did with it.That's awesome

Personally I don't focus on anything, because trails are two way, meaning I can catch someone uphill (trail runners/hikers/etc), while charging DH.I meant any segments which include enough traverse or climb will be dominated by whoever has the most powerful motor and is reasonably fit.... sure they'll be nuances of how technical or specific segment is. Its no longer purely the fitness and skill of the rider.
Yes, you can focus on only DH runs/segments too.

I haven't used any of these modes yet, but will today. I made a "Bosch Mode" of 750w, 85nm that I primarily used before and it was PLENTY powerful. Too much, honestly.@Rizzle Thanks for sharing the FB page. I was wondering, too, about modes and settings.
What mode are you on when you get 4500-5000 ft? So far, I'm getting 5000 ft in trail mode. Then I created a Levo setting that mimics my Gen 3 Levo trail mode, and that gets me 6000 ft.
On the topic of traverse and climbs... I got a bunch of KOMs on those, but that really means nothing to me. Pure DH time where the motor is not the advantage but the actual bike is the advantage is what's interesting. I'm get 5-6th overall on classic DH here on leaderboards of 300 eBikers, and I'm 55. Some of these runs don't require any pedaling. It's not the motor that's great (though it is), it's the bike itself.
The Crestline is a great MTB, not just a great e-MTB .

It's always interesting to see others settings and obviously to each their own when it comes to this stuff... my 2 cents, that is a lot of detuning. You'll certainly get a lot of range though!I haven't used these yet, but I plan on trying it out today. This will be my 5th ride. I have the 800w battery and find myself limited by the range on every ride so far. I have been getting in the wheelhouse of 25miles and 4500-5000'- which is awesome- but isn't enough for truly long days in the saddle. Anyhow- here's the link!

However, coming off a EP8 the assist levels on the M2S motor are just too powerful for me to feel like I am getting any type of workout. Once this novelty had worn off, I have been toying with additional custom modes to help tone down the assistance levels- which are a great feature of this platform!
Doing some digging, I came across this post in an Amflow FB group where a guy made a Excel file for rider weights and listed the settings for various factory modes with options for “long range,” “daily settings,” and “power settings” and the respective details for the 4 modes (assist level - max. watts - max. Nm) as well as additional information on usage and settings.
I haven't used these yet, but I plan on trying it out today. This will be my 5th ride. I have the 800w battery and find myself limited by the range on every ride so far. I'm still confused because I've seen multiple videos and web pages which show both displays having apple FindMy as a feature.They could have saved some R&D money and just followed me on Strava if they wanted to track me.
But for real… I’m pretty sure this version of the Avinox display does not have Apple find my, so this is the only way to keep tabs on my bike. Also, Im sure it’s nice to have more control over your bike without physically being next to it.
Btw the phone repair guy took it out in 3 seconds and had a bowl full of replacement screws that were a match.

His approach is to treat the modes like an old school front chainring, and shifting it depending on the type of incline you are experiencing. At the end of the day, you can leave it in turbo and have tons of support-basically Trail mode + on the current settings- which is plenty for any remotely fit person. Way more than boost on the EP8 I came off of.It's always interesting to see others settings and obviously to each their own when it comes to this stuff... my 2 cents, that is a lot of detuning. He assume 200watts for 5 min which isn't crazy by any means but a 210lbs person sustaining that is in relatively good cardio shape (unless you're doing that to pure exhaustion) so I guess his numbers aren't crazy.
I'm 85 kg and run my daily settings almost exactly at his "power" settings for 95 kg and max out at about 6700 ft/ 25 miles. That usually gets me 2.5 hours of riding which for me is about the max available as a weekend warrior.
Any who... I enjoy looking at this stuff and trying different things to maximize my ride.
