New CEF69 bafang m510 and bafang m560 and cef50 bafang m820 frames

Hey everyone,

I'm waiting on the frame and finishing up the last few bits, but I need some info: Does the shock mounting bolt come with the set, and what is the spacing/width required so I can order the correct bushings (referencing the diagram below).

Regarding the front fork – is the steerer tube 1.5" Tapered or is it a different size?

Shock bolt came with the frame.
The spec sheet for the frame calls out 22.2 x 8 for the spacers.
The headset that came with my frame had bearings for a standard tapered steer tube on all modern forks.

Just ordered mine yesterday. Cannot wait to get everything here. Went with a small after riding a members medium. Seeing this bike in person was eye opening. The quality, finish, the motor, everything just seemed to look, work and feel as a bike Litterally 3 times the money.

Awesome, congrats. Did your friend have the M510 or M560 motor?

M560. All the new stuff. I felt it was very intuitive and natural. I had demoed a pivot am shuttle two days prior and the befang is every bit as good. People told me about the noise but you basically drown it out as background noise after about 2min. Besides what’s wrong with a little noise if you know that noise is due to substantially more robust internals for the powerful motor. I had Chili change my order to the above Crush Orange paint. Just looks like it’s oozing badassery.

True doesn't seem to be a whole lot of space, would have to remove material from the yoke. Seems like best case to run a mullet is just to take the geo hit, which doesn't seem to be that bad.
Yes...that is what we are thinking as well. If you compare the geo to a Pivot AM lets say....the geo numbers are basically identical in the "high" flip chip setting. The Pivot also allows for a 27.5. SO...if you put a mullet on the pivot and a mullet on our bike, you will get basically the same BB drop as if you went to the "low" setting on the AM with a 29 rear wheel. I agree with you...The geo hit for the mullet will be somewhere short of a degree on the HT but thats all. The BB drop will not be bad at all because the BB already sits as high as a PIvot AM in the "high" setting.

Thanks guys, Im just hopping the shock fits if shock was fully compressed it will hit frame and really won't know till i sit on it and set sag.

What part of the shock is hitting the frame? Can you flip the can the other direction (shrader valve down) to gain some clearance?

Its not the Scredder, its the Can just scraps just under the frame, if only it was carved out like where the mount it it would be fine, i think few mm it be ok, I marked it where its hitting, Once its built ill check it better maybe i can put stroke to 60mm and wont have and might not hit frame, but i guess if i ever max out stroke on jump it will be not fun,

If you have a look under the frame you will see where its hitting, Thought about offset bushing but it wont help as the mount is not horizontal wick i could use offset to pull it down few mm

I thought this could be helpful for everyone. This is a chart showing a small CEF-69 in 29r and the changes if you put a 27.5 on the rear. I also have the chart for a 2mm offset bushing if anyone is curious. One note: the values are based off of the assumption that the CEF geo numbers shown on their website are correct and that those are based off a 170/160 setup. In discussions with another member here the only value that seems a bit suspect is the BB offset but everything else looks to be quite accurate.

Can someone please confirm if I can use 210x55 rear shock on a CEF50?
CEF50-2 and CEF50-3 it should work without issues. If you give me some days once my frame arrives i'll take some photos with properly measuring max compression.

Guys its all finished, Just need to program Wireless Derailer, Bleed Brakes and im set. Shock should be ok with the 30% sag but a big hit it will hit the frame, but im not planing on breaking any jump records.

That looks great, can't wait for mine to arrive. Would you be able to share some initial riding impressions and possibly take some geometry measurements? Is that a 170mm fork?

It does feel low but i like it, Havn't riden it yet once i bleed brakes ill be ok, I'm building it at work so i have a fix on my lunches and when boss (My Brother) isnt in LOL, He was helping me yesterday while staff worked lol. Its 170mm Forks 65mm Stoke Rear, I guess its maxed out.

Guys its all finished...

Nice build! What's the weight?
My frame with the motor and battery should be shipping out to me this coming weekend. All the other parts are ready, and the estimated weight with beefy tires is around 21 kg.

Thanks Mate, I don't have the lightest parts but i can hold bike up by seatpost one arm so i guess little over 20KG

I'd put a 10mm spacer in the shock and try if with 55mm stroke if it doesn't touch. You can break the frame if it touches under a compression

Did anyone asked Jean if they are planning to build a CEF69 frame but for DJI Avinox? Looks like the enduro market for DJI is not that big yet and the large downtube looks enough for the DJI battery
That'd be amazing, I can ask him if not or @Charly maybe you can ask? Even if motors can't be delivered till next year is an amazing move

I think i would rather a Bafang then DJI why i bought this frame. DJI only have 1 motor might be more polished but bafang much more power if thats what your after pros/cons . Value for money Bafang all day

I believe it's the power to weight ratio what makes the DJI motor really shine. In my case is more leaning towards a full power sub 20kg enduro bike, which is not possible with any Bafang motor with a +600w battery.

I have ordered my CEF69 frame today! I'm looking forward to its arrival
Hi nick I too have ordered cef69 can you confirm what size rear shock/coil will fit iv been told 210-55/65 & 205-55/65 and also is it standard mount or trunnion needed

I've gone for 205 x 65 trunnion mount I've heard the shocks with piggy back can run into some clearance issues if going for maximum travel but I'm not 100% certain on which shocks would be compatible
