Hi! Im sutil messing up with the suspension tune of my 29er Kenevo.. Can you share your tunes? I’m 90kg full pack. NOW (after messing with a few configs) Boxxer: 155psi 4 tokens. 6 clicks out of closed rebound. No LSC No HSC. 20% sag. Shock SDlx Ult Meg: 3 bands no pos tokens. 300 psi. 30% sag
. No LSC. 6 clicks out of closed. Very composed on bike park trail and jumps. Really good on berms and cactxhing speed. A little bit harsh on little trail tall jumps (4 ft tall) to flat and chattery terrain. Using abt 75-80%max travel (both shock and fork). Fell harshness on hands. Not yet tried on big drops or jumps. But thinking..should I setup less token (ot more bands on megneg shock) to use more travel and then mess up with LSC and Hsc for fine tuning? How much travel is safe fore trail aggressive riding? Should I use 80% max or more close for bottom out? Not sure. Don’t want too loose mid suport and a too soft spring that’s is unpredictable. What about % travel shock vs fork. Should be the same on both or more in shock than fork? Suspension setup is really a thing. Thanks for your advice!!

HI all new to forum.
I have 2021 kenevo expert and am about to go 29ner both but not sure if this wheel set will fit with these tires on rear.
I want to run Pirelli scorpion e-mtb hyper walls
Any advise appreciated.
Will be running 180mm Rock shox ZEB ultimate on front. I do like the boxers and if I can change bottom sanctions to suit 29ner I will but 2nd option is Zebs.
Will these wheels fit?

This is a 29x2.4 Dh34 on a hx1501 wheelset if it helps.. I also have the bash guard fitted which impedes on clearance.

Thanks for the pics Sweatyhog. Does help. How are those rims holding up to knarley rocks. Reason I want to use these rims is cause my mate has put them on his levo and they are bullet proof. They seem to take a beating. Next time we out for a ride we are going to try fit his wheels on my bike before I make a decision.
Appreciate the quick reply. I will post pics if they fit.

So far so good man, the stock roval dh's had a fair few dings..
I also picked these up for $600 when CRC had em on a hot deal. Currently have rear cushcore.
I ride where 80% of the tracks are rocks and I'm 105kg. Also running a 180mm zeb ultimate up front with no issues.

This is the lower crown race that works too.

Pity much similar setup I'm thing of going for. I'm 95kg I was going to just swap bottom sanctions on my boxxers for 29 setup. Dealer offered to do it for $500. Will be heavier than the zeb but I like the feel of double crown forks. Is the lower crown rrace for fitting the Zeb or to change geo?

That's just for the Zeb. I've got the flip chip and high but haven't done the offset bushing yet.

Roger,
I would prefer to have flip chip in low once raised with 29s on I've got it in high now with 27.5 due to too many bb strikes and pedals

S4 Frame and 700Wh. I’ve ordered an offset bushing so will fit asap

Hello Rob and Jooles I have a quick question for you guys please see below:

I have fitted a single offset bushing into the EXT Storia top shock mount with the bushing rotated to position the 8 mm hole inward. My Flip chip is in the High position. The steering/handling feels a little squirrely and floppy, not as stable as before with the Boxxer 27.5 set up.

Is this is what the full 29'er Front and Rear set up it is supposed to feel like? I have a 50 MM stem and OneUp Bar.

Anyone have any time on a Kenevo SL and on one of these big Kenevo's and care to comment on how different they feel on downhills (big Kenevo would monster the KSL uphill so that's a moot point!)? I'm considering selling my KSL and going to the Kenevo but I'm concerned about the extra weight being too much of a negative. The weight was part of the reason why I sold my Gen 2 Levo (plus the kinematics of the rear end).

Try without the offset bushing. It’s slack enough without it I find.

If you think the levo was too heavy don't sell your ksl.
Kenevo expert heavier. Great for knarly down hill and bike park. I think my kenevo climbs better than levo. I had a levo and thought it was to twitchy. But I like that moto feel. Each to there own.

Hello Rob,

I removed the offset bushing and that helps. Front wheel feels less floppy.

As you mentioned, suspension set up is critical and I am finding it challenging to set up a freshly serviced Fox 38. I am leaning towards a plusher set up (more sag) so I can drop the bottom bracket down some.

When you get a moment please describe the Front and Rear suspension parameters you were most happy with.

Fox 38, 180mm, 29, 44 offset
Sag % Front
# of tokens
HS and LS Rebound
HSC and LSC

Flip chip position in rear

Thanks

Wow. I didn't think you could fit a 29" wheel in the back. 😲

I'm running a fender in the back to protect the motor/bearings from mud though, which does reduce the available space. Anybody here running this with a 29" wheel in the back as well?

Also, more images with the clearance in the back are always welcome!

What's a bevor modification ? :) Is that like something bevelled by a beaver ?
That's German. 🙃 I've informed the author to change it.

This was a 29 x 2.6 with the Sicomtb guard, 5mm clearance at the tightest point. No real issues in the dry, got a bit caked in the mud but never locked up.
A 2.3/2.4 tire would be a more sensible option.

Sorry been of the eeb for a while due to other demands.

ok so I’ve used the 29/29 setup with offset bushings and flip chip low at BPW and basically it’s still a DH and uphill crusher. I climbed the steep uphill route with no issues at all. DH it’s just fun. Balanced and responsive for a bike bike.

My issue was not running enough rear tyre pressure and getting a rim ding. Needs lots of pressure, I.e 30 psi plus in the faster rocky stuff.

So in future I plan to run a tougher cushcore 27.5 in rear and set flip chip to high to compensate for mullet mode. I think this will provide a more resilient setup better suited to faster DH and bike park environments.

For all mountain and slower more technical the 29/29 runs a treat and is still my go to setup. Doesn’t hook up. No OTB feel. Suspension loads up well. Very neutral feel.

my Zeb has 51mm offset rather than the Foxs’ 48 so may make the front end feel a little different.

In 29/29 with an X2 shock and offset running Zeb 180 my Kenevo doesn’t feel flip flop at all.

Maybe flog the boxxers and go for Zeb ..may still be deals around ...this is what I did.
Zeb select are more than an enough unless you want to run in the EEWS

I'm based in Perth Australia. I have 2021 expert and have been wondering what would be best setup.
Went to local shop and have ordered Zeb ultimate Rc2 and will be converting to 29ner running Hunt wheel set, pirelli scorpion E 2.6 on front and 2.4 DD on rear with cush core both front and back.
Will get some pics once done.
Also last ride I went on I noticed slight noise in motor sounded like belt and specialized are gonna replace motor under warranty.

Of interest what kind of slight noise ?

All Motors make a noise so with Brose what led you to think it was just more than normal operating noise ?

If you 180 up front and flip chip on yoke to low BB will be a bit higher still, personally I think higher BBS on long travel eMtb aren’t an issue, I.e. 355 ish as when sagged still give good clearance for tek climbs plus doesn’t seem to punish DH handling too much.

However if you add an offset bushing to top shock eyelet this will bring BB down to around 350-352 …it will also slacken head and seat angle a little; allround I find this about spot on for me.

Lyrics are a super fork…I’ve run some on my Kenevo Turbo and felt good. Zebs a little stiffer so when pushing harder a little more directionally stable but it’s minor.

I know the normal whinning noise of the brose I've had a levo and now this kenevo. And was definitely the belt. I'd rather get them to sort it out before warranty runs out. I've heard same sound with my mates ebike and he got new motor. Plus I get another 2years warranty on new motor.
As for fork I'll be running a 180mm on front.
I'm going to try flip chip in both settings to see what I like better. I did like it better in the lower setting from standard but switched it into high due to bb strikes.
Whats the offset bushing your running?
Cheers for advice.
