Kenevo Gen1 29er Front and Rear Kenevo

Yeah, I think it’d be worth having it dipped rather than do all that manual stripping. Can’t be a lot of money for an item as small as a bike.

Does anyone know if the new Fox Float X2 will fit in the frame without any clearance issues? I'm on an S2 size.

I'm currently running the 2024 Float X2 however I was getting the itch to upgrade it.

Don’t bother, the new x2 is a single tube shock just like the float x( why it’s called x2 now that it is a single tube, who knows?). If you want a good air shock for the Kenevo look at the Ohlins ttx1 air. The ttx2 air is not progressive enough for the Kenevo.

Joining a bit late to the party...
Im 5'4" about 160 pound.

Bought an used S2 2020 Comp Kenevo in mid 2023 and imediatelly switched the 180mm MZ fork to a base Fox 38 170 travel, also front wheel to 29. I dont even know how the stock setup rides, but I felt the bars too low even with with 29.
Later on that year I tested a 29 wheel on the rear and absolutely loved the way it felt. Bike is even better on the climbs and rolls awesome on the rough. Altough I keep both wheels and sometimes change back to mullet depending on the ride, also keep the extra wheel as spare.
Forks:
Stock 275 marzocchi - just rode 2 minutes on the parking lot and removed it
Fox 38 Performance 170mm: very good and cheap fork, rode with it for 2 years
Fox 38 Factory 180mm: current setup, a good step up from the previous 38 with more adjust. The front is finally at right height for me.

Shocks I´ve used:
- Stock Fox DPX2 performance - for some reason came with no air spacer, maybe the previous owner took it out. With the big spacer rides very good, very plush and sensitive.
- Super Deluxe R - a bit harsher than the DPX2 but suits the bike well. The one I used had a lot of volume spacers, so the bike is not very sensitive but rides higher on the travel
- Fox DHX + Cane Creek Progressive Coil 500-610: found the perfect setup to this bike. It smashes everything, absolute amazing. The progressive coil tries to emulate air shock behavior, avoidong harsh bottom out.

The rest of the setup:
Specialized bars 780mm 30mm rise (from a Levo gen 3, bent the stock one on a crash)
Nukeproof 35mm stem with 5mm rise
11s Cues Shifter, Cassete and chain with SLX 12s deraileur
XT levers with saint calipers
700Wh Battery (upgraded from 500Wh stock)
DT EX511 F and FR541R rims (the 275 wheel is the stock)
Assegai 2.5 DH both ends

Just read the Levo EVO thread and I think if it really happens as expected, will be the logical update path for the Kenevo Owners. Also here in Brazil we have limited options when comes to warranty and service, and Specialized is one of the few brands that have a good customer service.

I was considering to buy a Gen 4 Levo and the cascade long shock link (same shock size as kenevo so could use my shocks), but now I think worth to wait a little more to see how this EVO will come.

The gen 4 is good for you at small size, but at bigger sizes its got out of balance chain stays

I see. Rode yesterday on a S3 Gen 4 levo on the parking lot, also rode sometimes with gen 3 S3 levo at local trails.
Despite the top tube and reach a bit longer, I felt really good on the bike. Its even a bit "twicher" than my S2 kenevo, so I tend to buy S3 size if I get a Gen 4 some day, that will be closer to the s2 kenevo.
Also rode the Gen 3 on S2 size and felt it too small.
