That's an outstanding weight for that build/ size/ battery pack.

It's unlikely that I'll be able to buy this bike in the USA at a reasonable price anytime soon, but still I'm eager to hear/ read about the handling and rear suspension performance of the Mith.
 
The bike seems really well designed. All the small parts, plastics are well thought out (motor cover, covers for rear cables etc). The chainstay cable routing for brake, speed sensor and AXS power cable all have inner tube runs, so super easy to run these (many bikes just hollow out a wide space and often need to spend a time fishing the cables through).

The motor area is so compact, its really tight in there with all the cables. Its actually the smallest cable area of any bike I've worked on, they've tried to minimise any spaces in the frame to reduce the size of it.

Interesting, the bike I’ve been riding is also similarly larger than the geometry chart. (1325mm wheelbase)

The S3 was on the big side for me on paper in the first place, this is ‘really’ big for a large.

I would like to measure the reach also, but based on the other numbers, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it over 500mm, which goes some way to explaining why it feels quite a bit bigger than my own bike which is comparable on paper, but feels noticeably smaller in reality.

I do wonder if the S2 is similarly oversized, if it is, it would probably be more suitable for me.

From the picture, nice is an understatement. Just curious, the finish is very glossy which is lovely, is that from an abundance of resin in with the CF lamination or is that a clear coat finish.

I measured the reach less than published. I should have added above that I’m running a 180mm fork, stock is 170mm (that’s all I had available - I will order 170mm air shaft).

That fork reduces reach by approx 5mm and changes the other numbers very slightly (about +5mm wheelbase/front centre)

With the 180mm fork the reach measures 480mm which is a fair bit shorter than published.

My rear brake cable is rattling a bit. I think it is coming from the seatpost area.
I am thinking of adding some foam tubing to the brake line.
I think you have to lower the rear end of the motor, for reaching the brake line in that area.
Can you confirm this Rob?

You won’t be able to add foam tubing to the brake line as the tube that it runs in is already too narrow.

I wrapped my brake line in some electrical tape at intervals along the line, to minimise any free space in the cable tubing.

I also did this for the cable that runs from the motor to the display, and the cables that run in chainstay.

Yes you will need to drop the motor to access that brake cable run.

Taking the motor out is easy. Getting it back is very tight due to the packed cables and the orientation of them.

That’s interesting, I haven’t actually checked the travel of the fork on this bike, I just assumed it was a 170mm Zeb, which it may not be.

I’m usually a fan of a decent amount of stack height but found it pretty high, even by my standards - long reach & high stack = really big span, which is probably not helping my feeling of the bike being too big for me.

I always try not to look at individual numbers as they don’t give me a true picture, but my gut (and riding experience) was a bit off on this bike for the last couple of weeks & was looking for reasons why.

As a side point, I’ve also struggled a bit with F&R balance on this bike, with a higher than normal rear sag & trying to balance that with fork setup, I’m getting a lot of pitch when breaking hard on steeper trails, it feels like quite a lot of dynamic position change on the bike. Running less sag on the rear has an adverse effect, unless riding consistently at ‘race pace’ - otherwise I’m finding the fork needs to be too soft to balance the suspension out.

This is both with a coil & air shock.

As a separate point, I really don’t like formula brakes 😆
 
One weekend, two trips, lots of trails!
With a restricted ‘AUTO’ mode at 90 Nm and 700 W, we set off on the next round!
Very technical, steep, heavily rooted and wet trails were on the agenda on Saturday. With the Magic Mary's, it was a real joy to fly over the wet roots, the grip was incredible! Compared to my old Levo 2nd Gen, you can leave the brakes fully open the whole time! The suspension gives you such a feeling of safety, and the faster you ride, the better it gets!
I'm really in love with this bike!
Again, approx. 25 km distance, 1370 metres of elevation gain and a remaining capacity of 60% due to the reduced power and torque settings.

On Sundays, we headed for higher altitudes, specifically 2,200 metres above sea level.
At first, we rode through very rocky terrain, which became greener and greener the closer we got to the valley. Flowing passages mixed with root-covered steep sections again, but this time it was nice and dry, and my grin grew wider and wider.
1,400 metres of elevation gain, 30 kilometres, 50% battery remaining.

In addition to the somewhat rickety brake cable, the Avinox app could also be improved.
Specialized is still clearly ahead in this respect!
Firstly, ALL settings should be able to be made on the app. Why do features such as Smoothshift and beep tones have to be set on the bike, but the order of the assistance levels can be set on the mobile phone?
Then it takes me forever to download the ride data. When I finally have it on my phone, I can hardly do anything with it. The Specialized app has much more graphically prepared information!
I can also hardly record a ride properly because the bike switches off every time I take a break, which ends the ride. This really needs to be fixed, otherwise it's completely useless...

Does anyone know if the Race version axs gears are wired into the motor or will it be the removal battery type 🤔

You lose a lot of the features of the Avinox motor system if you’re not running AXS though. Doesn’t make much sense other than cost and let’s face it, if that’s an issue then e-bikes probably aren’t the best choice anyway.

Well they lost a sale to me. I'll only run Shimano linkglide on an ebike. Dont like sram stuff.
At least the upcoming avinox powered velduro rogue has the ability to run a cable derailleur, so that's now top of the list.

I agree with you mostly, I love the smoothshift feature myself.
