Levo Gen 4 Specialized Gen 4 Levo - Official Thread

Swat bag, what do you stuff it with? The larger bag (S4-S6) can hold a normal tube, tyre levers, quick links for chain. That's about it. No room for minipump unless it is tiny.

I’m still not convinced that the average Levo rider needs more than 150mm (the two I met last weekend had just ridden down the road and had a long fire road climb back to the pub). I know a bunch of people who ride Fod tech and park in the alps on 150mm bikes, where y’all riding that you need more? Sherwood pines? Swinley?
Colorado. Big rocks, steep lines, slabs, roots, and it just keeps going and going.

Hello from Germany,

Since two weeks I have my Levo 4 Expert Pro frame. It’s great and Motor noise on ride is really quiet like specialized said but on downhills or just Backwheel drops there is a clunky noise from the motor. Even when you slightly pull the chainring back there is the same sound.
Has Someone the same experience?

That’s a real bummer 😡

I had mine on Monday and have put 60 miles on it , can’t say I’ve heard anything like that , it is very quite, the most comes from the grit and stones hitting the down tube ,

I had a problem with my GX derailer on my Gen 3 and the shop was nice enough to give me a Gen 4 Expert as a loaner. Brand new and making the same noise you describe. I had the mechanic take it for a quick spin and he agreed it wasn’t normal. Not sure if it will go away after the motor breaks in, maybe 10 miles on it right now. Clunking largely goes away under power.

Hi all, having done 2 back to back days riding to work on my new sworks which is 90% off road and is 19.5 miles there and back , I was and probably still am a bit disappointed with the range so far , when fully charged it predicts 39 miles of range , which sucks as my old levo I’ve ridden it for 42.5 with some left, so I was hoping for a fair bit more with the bigger battery , so the first day I rode it in eco and 3-4 times a boost up to trail for short blasts , and with that trip I had 56% battery left, today I used micro tune and rode it with 20% assists and boosted up to 30% again 3-4 times , and that left me with 61% of the battery, which gave me an extra 7 miles of range , so that’s basically 4 more miles than my old levo would do , but being an old git I was hoping to use a little more trail for climbing the hills when I go up to the dales, but it looks like I will still have to really manage my 32-36 mile rides I plan , I don’t want to go down the range extender route , personally I think they look awful , time will tell ,
60 miles on the bike now since Monday evening, I do like how quite it is , still not sure of the controller switch, obviously I will get used to it , and I wish I stuck to my guns and not listened others , and had hope v4 brakes fitted like my old bike , I’m not a fan of sram brakes and still not . But overall I shes a quick bike , and for me the narrower front tyre makes it respond very quickly, compared to the 2.6 on the old bike .

Can you make a video of the noise? Would be helpful to anyone having similar issues to identify and gather more information.
At the Riva del Garda festival I rode the new Levo and didn't hear any rattle from the motor, although on the other side Spesh did have a sample motor on display that had the housing cut of so you could see the internals, turn the gears, rotor etc. When wiggling the main axle back&forth that motor sample had distinct gear backlash happen accompanied with the sound we all know to good.

As I didn't hear any sounds from the bikes I and my friend rode It could be that just some motors are lemons...🤷‍♂️

I'm not sure I dislike all SRAM brakes, but so far I am not liking the Mavens. They squeak easily and are way too grabby - it's easy to accidentally lock the wheels. Is it possible to change pads?

Has someone build there Levo gen 4 with Mechanical drivetrain ? I have taken the AXS of and unpluged the AXS cable to the mastermind. Struggle with all kind of error codes🤣

Would like to, but can’t upload it

I have a few issues with my g4. Anyone having similar issue?

1) charging port replaced under warranty second week in. When I would plug in fast charger to bike frame it wouldn’t register. Temp workaround was charging battery directly.

2) sworks on the ND side of motor is upside down.

3) my clock on the mastermind doesn’t stay correct. Requires me to connect my phone to bike via app to sync.

4) motor drops power very briefly 3-4 times per ride.

Anyone else having these issues? I have about 370 miles or so on my g4.

Ride mine for the 1st time 2 days ago.
I have noticed the same "drop power" as you discribed....
I have 2 battery and it seems the "drop power" is a battery issue

With the battery supplied with the bike i can feel the " lack of tork" especially in stip climb!!!
I was really disaponted as i was thinking that is was the way the motor work ...
I did the same lap with my spare battery and it was night and day, and the bike felt strog everywhere and the smile of my face couldn't go....

Hi all.

Question about sizing.

If I’m on a gen 3 S5 would I be looking at a gen 4 S5.

I’m 186cm and sometimes when sat riding the S5 feels a bit short and I find my self shuffling back wards.

I’ve read a few reports that the newer bikes feel a bit shorter.

I refer to be a bit further back behind the bottom bracket as it’s easier on my crap knee. Just wondering if the steeper seat tube angle would affect this.

Same issue here with powerdrops! Have replaced : drive unit, lower batteryholder with powercable and chargingport. Have a new battery also, will test tomorrow.

500km on G4 Expert, so far so good. My other bike is powered by Shimano EP801 / 820wh BMZ battery, new G4 is way better, specially for technical climbing.
