New Amflow Models?

Does anybody else long for the days when stuff used to just get released, and if you were in the market for something like it, you’d look and say ‘that looks alright’ and then you’d buy it?! 😂

Wasn't there a guy on this forum who wanted to install two tubes in his wheels. Maybe it's his bike ....... :ROFLMAO:

Two pressure chamber is a real thing for mtb tires
Tire-chunk.webp

I'd add for cheaper purchases you can definitely still do that, but for something as expensive as an ebike it makes a lot of sense to do your research.

Wait where does it say 700wh and removalable battery?

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
I deleted the two images myself, as my username could reveal my identity and I don’t want to get into trouble over the embargo.
No worries man, I'm just glad to hear that the forum isn't preventing users from sharing info they've gathered elsewhere.

The questions I had were:
  • On the Pro model, in the pic it looked like there was a wheelspeed sensor on the front hub, just as there is typically placed on the back wheel. Does that mean the bikes with the Magura Gustav brakes will have the Magura ABS system? I haven't seen that mentioned in any of the published specs, but couldn't think of any other reason why a 2nd sensor would be required.
  • Since you've seen the bikes in person, can you confirm the rumors about the new battery sizes and any anti-rattle changes to the motor?
Thanks!

Removable battery is definitely a plus but does not solve the main problem for me. Still, a good step, without a doubt!

I don't think this crosses any lines, so, from what I've seen they just use the same disks front and back (probably for ease/consistency) which have the speed sensor cut outs in.

Used to have Schwalbe Procore, unfortenatly didn't pickup...

Best system I've ever used on MTB!
Allowed to ride with 12psi on the rear tire on a very wet, greasy and cold ride!
(I was around 85kg ready to ride + 16kg bike. Normal pressure, was between 24 and 28psi)
You should try the OPTIS then. It's much lighter and easier to live with.

Removable battery is great for people living in apartments.. But it also doesn't solve my problem. It is lame to ride around with another battery in the backpack. Need integrated solution.

Only 700wh will have removable battery? What about the bigger one?

Be interesting to work out what the weight penalty for the removable battery is. Once we have detailed specs of the builds should be possible to work out.

No, the removable one is the 800Wh battery.
The 700Wh battery is non removable but due to a better cooling and some other specs, is about 27% more efficient and that is why it will be only available in the top spec models of the new Amflow

OK. Im not sure what 27% nore efficient means in this context. Definitely not 27% more range?

Probably some confusion with battery energy density, it is expected to be ~700Wh and weigh roughly the same weight as the 600Wh, that represents a 17% increase in energy for the same weight.

Maybe the 27% is coming from the previous rumours that the 800Wh will become a 1000Wh, but that is probably optimistic based on known cells.

that the optimized 700Wh is roughly equivalent to 889Wh
700wh will never give the same range as 889wh. Efficiency can be around motor/controller.
It is like saying that optimised 60l petrol tank will give you 80l of petrol.
It doesnt work like that, im afraid.

That doesn’t make sense. WH is the available energy. If the 27% figure is true, the implication is that the weight of the 700wh battery is 27% less than the same battery would have been with old cells.

Since the battery is comprised of things other than cells (packaging, circuits, heat sinks) the real number is likely to be closer to 15%

another way to think about this - the new 700wh battery is approximately the same size and weight as the old 600wh battery

This battery will be only avaliable in top spec Amflow bikes so for sure it has something special no other brand will have.

Wanna see a real picture of the new downtube with the 700Wh inside?

Will see...maybe is something related to new battery cells and an optimized cooling that makes the system be more efficient
Different chemistry with more energy to weight ratio might help pack more WH into the same space/ save some weight if we look at the cells only:

Using LG M58T
800 Wh ÷ 273 Wh/kg
≈ 2.93 kg

Using Molicel M65A
800 Wh ÷ 322 Wh/kg
≈ 2.48 kg

Then you have casing, BMS, wiring
cooling / structure..

Ok, great, but I would rather have a 900-1k battery that is the same weight and size as the current 800….

Thats the hope with molicells, slightly more weight, higher WH.

I just wish DJI would announce these new machines and thus eliminate all this mindnumbing speculation.
Come on, dude. I thought you were loving all the Avinox banter ??? 💋

The subtle difference between the M1 and M2 motor. I couldn't care less. And it seems Amflow is not doing the Enduro. So once again. Care factor zero.

I have ordered the Teewing Flux 180/180 Enduro, and I care zero whether it has the M1 or M2 motor. Infact, if there is a weight increase with the M2. I'd prefer the M1. The Amflow PL Carbon Pro I have, with the M1, is brilliant. The only thing I lack, is the barnstorming downhill freight train you get with a proper burley Enduro. The Flux will solve this.
