Mondraker Zendit Avinox

After 15 years on my trusty Santa Cruz Tallboy full carbon XTR build, I'm ready for my first EMTB and the Zendit seems to be exactly what I want.

But here's my question: At what point is the LBS no longer "L"? I live in a rural area and the LBS down the street is great but it only carries Specialized and Santa Cruz. 45 miles away there's one that carries Amflow and Unno (among others). But the nearest Mondraker dealer is 90 miles. Will I regret that? My closest LBS is really good with service and setup and are happy to work on any bike, but what if there are warranty issues and the like?

According to dealers who sell a variety of motor systems, in a variety of brands. The Avinox Motor System has been very reliable. As an owner. I can also attest to reliability. So the chances of failure are the slimest you can gamble on. Also Avinox support has been very quick in response to online inquires.

Having an Avinox Motor System also allows you to buy Motor parts and accessories from the Amflow Factory website. My second Avinox EMTB won't be an Amflow, and the LBS is 200 miles from me. But I will be using the Amflow website if I desperately need parts.

90 miles for an Australian can be a daily work commute, so it is difficult to see that as a limitation of buying a Mondraker, when the chances of needing them will be very small.

It won't mean a thing.
90 miles isn't far, and there's nothing unique about a mondraker's service requirements.
 
The release date has been brought forward as it seems: Now they tease with 07th April.
Emtb-Marketing is operating as if we were back in the post-COVID supply chain squeeze.

I see you're in AB. My closest dealer is actually not far in Nelson BC, but not sure I can buy it and just drive back over the border these days without paying some unreasonable amount.
 
Anyone seen any info about Zendit frame-only availability on the 9th? Looks like frame-only options are typically available from Mondraker?

The frame only will be available, no idea if it will be on the 9th though. Mondraker hasn’t released a price either, my mate’s shop has a few people wanting the frame only but he said he can’t order them from Mondraker yet.

The Info that i got is that Framesets will come in 2027 / maybe late 2026. This year only complete Bikes.
 
We are in Spain about 10 mins from Mondraker HQ and have a local shop that's very Mondraker biased. Dunno if they were test bikes or ready to go for customers but I spotted a couple Zendits yesterday.

A bike shop close to us is one of the largest Mondraker dealers in the eastern US and they said the stock will be VERY limited this year. They are only getting 5 bikes and one is a demo, so only 4 for sale. There is no timeframe for more stock currently.

I'd like to have a go at one too.
The kinematics on my '25 crafty are much better than my dreadnought v2, but the dreadnought v2 has better geo than the crafty. The zendit appears to be getting pretty close to blending the two.

It’s likely not hot-swappable based on how slim the downtube is, as additional design considerations need to be made to beef up the downtube if you’re going to cut a giant hole in it to remove the battery. It also doesn’t seem to have the same extended/pregnant motor mount to downtube junction that would be needed to slide the battery out from the bottom à la Crestline.

Definitely the best looking of today's bike releases, which makes me want this to be the bike for me.

But after hours of reading and watching reviews this morning, I'm likely going with the Pivot AMPD as my first EMTB. If I'm being honest about how I ride these days at 30yrs of exp but 60yo, and the tight, wet and rooty terrain here in the PNW, it's the better choice for me.

Doesn't hurt that my LBS down the street just started carrying Pivot.
It's ~$1K less for similar spec and is HSA eligible, which for me means a whopping 40% discount on top of that.

I'll still lust after that Zendit RR S from afar though. 😜
 
Out of all the bikes today only AF PX has some sense with it's lower weight. Otherwise Zendit is the best option in my opinion. Contacted an dealer today 😉
 
I Don’t know for the Zendit for sure as I haven’ t checked their Insertion length requirements, but for the Crafty it was KS Suspension with the Rage Circuit - 150mm and full Insertion in an m/l frame. AXS Reverb didn‘t provide full insertion.

Very interesting thank's. At the moment I'm on a Canyon strive-on Size Small, I have a reverb 200mm at 2cm from fully insert.
that is fitting me perfect I'm 170cm high with 79 cm leg length and 145mm pedal crank. That is why I worry about the Zendit. I would use a Size Medium on Zendit

On the Mondrakers and the Crestlines you want to run the Wolf Tooth dropper because it's considerably shorter than the One Up as far as insertion depth goes and that's where the limitation is.
Then you combine that with an SQ Lab saddle and short cranks.
These three changes will maximize the dropper length you can run on this style of bike.

But weird sizing jumps. 160 200 or 242mm


210mm one up or lose 10mm drop and go 200?

I’ve found the AXS 225 best on the Crestline. No worries about cable snag at the bottom of the post. I think it’s the highest drop to stack to slammability ratio I’ve found on this frame.
