Mondraker Zendit Avinox

Really like the look of this, I enjoyed the crafty rode and like the avinox features so on paper it'll be great bike

On the fast charging note, although it may not translate exactly but some youtuber tested fast charge vs slow charging a phone over a 2 year period and the difference was negligable.

I note the seatpost isn't slammed in the video. Can it be? 460mm seat tube length in a large with approx 30mm of post hanging out on top of that would be very unfortunate. Can anyone say if the post goes lower?

This is the only thing that would put me off about this bike, everything else is perfect.

Seatpost insertion is an issue still sadly.

Didn't even know this bike existed until I seen Robs video on YouTube just now, it's going to the top of the list for my next bike, looks very similar to the unno. Bring on the reviews 🔥

To be fair it's on the side of a hill with the handlebar touching and it looks like the derailleur isn't even touching the ground.
Plus, you can stand on derailleurs these days. The old don't lay bike on right side no longer applies.

That "test" is fundamentally flawed in that it is not measuring actual power in-power out. He is going by what the software is telling him, and I assure you, it lies.

I didnt watch the video, too lazy for that, but according to AI probing of the transcript they removed the batteries to properly measure capacity -- but did not say exactly how

Just ride with no dropper and seat slammed. Who needs ergonomics with all that power anyway 😂

You might be kidding but I only use about 50mm of my dropper travel on my Husky. Raising the saddle up full doesn’t make pedaling or climbing any better, climbing with the saddle raised might be worse! I have what I call “moto” position that puts me nicely behind the bars(Medium Husky HC1 blessed with like 661mm stack) and when I come to a stop I hit the lever so I can flatfoot in the saddle at a stop. I keep telling myself to put a travel limiting tether so I can hit moto height every time without fiddling with it.

Wow that's a hot looking bike. Avinox have absolutely nailed it, with that slim downtube, and small motor form factor.

It's times like this. I wish Australia was closer to Europe. I know my Teewing Flux will be great. But that bike is a head turner and Rob looked so planted on those descends.

I wonder why the downtube looks so slim compared to the Flux's whilst the Mondrakers downtube seems a bit wider? I know the cable routing for the Flux runs on top of the battery, maybe the cables on the Mondraker go down the sides ?

Maybe the Mondraker has a newer designed Battey ?

With all the Ebike hate currently going on here in Sydney. I'm glad these full power Stealth EMTBs are being developed. Only other EMTB and MTB riders have picked my Amflow for an Ebike. Joe Public thinks it's just a mountain bike.

They are available in Aus $14499/$17499/$20999 Aus, my local dealer has one at the moment!

New models are in the mondraker

Models and prices in $aud are on the Australian mondraker website so surely they will be available locally around launch date ?

I knew we'd get them here. But price is always elevated by the time they are landed here. Base model is 45% more than the Flux. Spec is similar, though Flux is 180/176 travel Fox suspension, and the Flux gets High Pivot. I think the wheelbase lengthening when hitting bumps will make a difference. The wheel moving up and away from the bump, rather than up and towards the bump.

The Mondraker does has the S1000 transmission standard. Where I'm upgrading the Flux to S1000 from Eagle 90 for $550. So that does close the price gap.

$3K cheaper and I'd be all over the Mondraker. Such a great looking bike. And prior to the Avinox Avalanche. The Crafty was going to be my dream build.

The base Mondraker comes with Factory level Fox whereas the base Flux only has Performance. Mondraker could have definitely had a more entry level spec option. Manufactures are using the Fox Podium as an excuse to call their Factory 36/38 spec'd bikes base model now and jack the prices.

Having had both. I just don't use the adjustments provided with the Factory level. My Amflow is Factory 36 and Float X. Maybe I'm just not a good enough rider, but I haven't noticed any significant performance advantage over the Performance install I had on my 2022 Marin.

That said. There is a value improvement to the Mondraker, with the Factory parts.

They did not.
Please explain how you know this? You are basically claiming they are lying, and we should consider the video useless. It seems irrational to me without more information how you came to this conclusion

How long before someone comes up with a 2 (or more) stage post like they use for certain hydraulic cylinders? Frames could get away with much shorter posts and still be able to run silly long droppers ;-)

Nah, frame designers should just get their shot together and design frames better.

Issue is that droppers getting longer and longer, and bikes getting more and more capable, and we want shortest insertion as possible to fit longest droppers. Bikes that have suspension like VPP / Mondrakers Zero suspension / Unno etc are always compromised here. Bikes that dont, and have kinked seat tubes where they could run straight - thats just bad design.

They have a real issue to solve, because part of their visual identities and frame differentiation is these suspension designs / features. To solve it, they need to move away from these designs. Then they all start to look very similar (Horst Link style designs).

But the issue is real, and they will need to design their way around it, as its certainly a big talking point now, and many people will not choose a bike because of dropper insertion.

No hints on the rear suspension performance ?
I'm super curious, as the crafty's 150mm outperformed a good number of my 170mm bikes.

I just checked with my mate to see if there was going to be a frame only option. He said the XR version will be offered as a frame only but Mondraker hasn’t released the pricing yet.

I think the Anglos have

oohhh, that’s interesting!
