I just had a geek at the new Levo SL's geometry and guess what?

add a 170mm lyrik* and a set of 27.5 wheels (2.5 tyres) and the thing would be an absolute pinner.
ie. 64deg and a decent BB drop (20mm)

Now where's that twelve grand?

Do it to the one you have @Rob Hancill I really don't think you'd be disappointed

The only (slight) downsides would be a slightly slacker seat tube angle and very slightly less reach (just a few mm)

*29" Lyrik

I was thinking of putting my 180 Lyrik on one and modifying the rear shock for more travel and 27.5 rear. Front disc on the rear and a 220 front disc cause I know how much you love big discs
I have to stop.

would be interesting to see how it climbs

it'll climb absolutely fine.

just push the saddle forwards 15mm and remove a 10mm spacer from below the stem

seriously

I think I'm going to go for the Carbon Comp and put some 160mm 36s on it to make it more slack and playful.

In California a ‘pinner’ is a really lame, thin joint that you roll when your stash is low... hey bro, wanna burn a pinner?

So it changes your view of reality?
Sounds about right.
( I'm trying to digest gary going down the trendy longer travel route. Longer travel front vs back us almost trendy as well. )

Here it's someone or something that pins. As in "Pin it to win it Bro!"

This was my bike in 2002

Thats something almost like my Altitude Powerplay wich handles just like a normal bike being 4 kgs heavier and a full powah motor.

:devilish::cool::sneaky::LOL:

No it isn't

You're doing it again.

Talking shite ;)

No amigo, that RM is really a steep ahead anything. Heavier, yes but full power.
it already perfomance superb I won’t trade the weight for the power, in this ebike

have you tried it?

WTAF are you talking about?

I don't need to ride it.
i guarantee Your 50lb Powerplay will ride NOTHING like a 37lb bike no matter how many similarities you *think* you've spotted.

BTW fitting a 27.5" wheelset will also lower overall weight even more (assuming like for like components/tyres etc.) and should offsetting the weight gained from the Lyrik but changing it from unsprung to sprung weight.

Do it yourself a favor a try one Gary. On a balance the handling power ratio i think is better than the new SL. However, differents horses for different courses ...

Old IS trendy - usually a couple of weeks after our daggy old bike dies.

I probably ride on average 30 different bikes each week mate.
Believe me I can tell the difference between a 50lb one and a 37lb one
No motor is going to change that.

Re-read my message.

30 differents ebikes at week and you haven’t ride a RM Powerplay?

I haven't ridden any Rocky Mountain in years.
I can't even remember the last time I saw one.

I'm in Scotland. Nothing's banned.
Well.. .maybe not nothing but even if it is.. .we still have it ;)

Believe it or not Ebikes aren't very popular here at all... and seeing as Rocky Mountain isn't a popular brand here either there's unlikely to be many Powerplays here.

lts shame man! If you have the chance don’t waste it, i got friends with carbon Levos, Jam2 sub20kgs, Orbea Wild, Norco Sight (and BH múltiplas of course) ... and all they felt in love and now want one.

Ok and I’m out sorry that I mess this thread

We call it “ jail joint” like, hey this fork is thin as a jail joint ?

Fuck it I’ll just wait for their Evo version.

I've just been reading through some of Spesh's documents. You're in luck !

for 2021 MY There is planned the Levo "SLX" :

"This model is aimed at customers who love the idea of the Levo SL, but want more power and possibly range. The SLX will be equipped with the considerably more potent Brose Mag motor and matched with a 700wh Battery. RRP is expected to be +20% for these upgrades over the base SL Model"

Also for the 2021 MY There is planned the Levo "SLR" :

"Officially, this is the 'Range' model. Matching the Mahle motor with a 700wh battery. In house it's known as the "reliable" model. Pairing the 700wh battery and adding some more weight for customers who want a reliable bike with a 700wh battery and are willing to trade reliability in for overall power. Pricing is expected to be another +20% on top of the SLX for peace of mind".

"We are considering the limited edition 2021 Levo SL Gazza. This will have 27.5 wheels from more playfulness, making the existing SL feel like a cumbersome tank. (+20% price premium). And the Gazza "Big Boy" - this will pair the 27.5 wheels with a longer fork for a +40% price premium."
