GX AXS battery goes red when in the charger

Trying to figure out what's wrong with my axs battery when I put it in the charger it either goes red or flashes amber to red and back to red etc but the SRAM website basically just says remove battery reinstall everything will be glorious again anyone got any suggestions?

Are the 3 pins touching the contacts on the charger?
I've read on the forum about the issue of the pins sticking.

I've tried 2 different chargers. all pins are 'out'
