Hello everyone,
Has anyone come across cranks that have horizontal flex. Causing the cranks arms to move? My e8000 has had it since purchase until the crank case exploded (See attched image).
Of course Shimano say it is outside warranty, which it is but I had this from new (reported to bike shop) and was told it was "normal. Which I doubt it is..
25000kms and 2.5 years later.
Contacting Shimano online, wish me luck.

I have always thought there was a bit of movement but nothing major. Hope your talk with Shimano is fruitful.

Wow, 25,000 kms, thats got to be the highest mileage E8000 motor I have heard of. Impressive to get to that before going kaput.

There is some flex in the stymie from my expense, but its hard to tell how much of that is with the axle as the cranks flex a bit too, and you can feel/see this if you are looking for it.

There will be some, but should be almost unperceivable.
