Hoping to stay within the top 3-4% overall. Went a bit out there this round as I have a 170 point lead in my workplace comp.

Luke MS, BC, Finn, Gwin with Baumann and Cabirou.
125 points in MSA and finished on 1004 points for the season. 201st overall. Beat all my workmates which is great. Bring on 2026 already.

Stoked for Jackson, I did want him to take the overall & on paper, the odds were against it but also wanted to see a straight fight with Loic.

On reflection, I think Bruni going up the hill likely knowing he couldn't start did the race a service, had he withdrawn earlier, it would have killed the tension but in the event, the spectacle went to the wire. Might be wrong but I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

I reckon if Jackson hadn't stomped it then he would have had a bash. If he needed a mid pack finish to win the overall then he'd at least try, but third seemed a big ask when injured

Speaking to the UCI MTB World Series, Bruni said he had a crash during morning practice, where he hit his arm and leg and he felt that he would not be able to put in a strong run. Bruni still decided to head up to the top of the course, but after the winning run from Jackson Goldstone, he did not start, as he "didn't believe I could do it because my leg was absolutely not working and still not working." Bruni added, "It's a little tough not to be up for the fight on the last day of the whole season."

That's one interpretation. The wider clip gives another.
I watched the whole clip. It sounds like he was willing to drop in if there was a chance of him winning the overall. If Jackson makes a mistake/has a mechanical but gets enough points to overtake Bruni, he might drop in to get a chance at a small amount of points.

Sounds like, reckon, seems...

I'm not especially determined to have the ten dollar argument, so I'll leave you to your theories on the competitve instincts of the guy with 4 overalls & 5 world championships.

Surprised that UCI didn't ding Bruni for skipping the box? Saw a YT short of him getting off the gondy and it didn't look like he was at all imobile?

Sentimental post incoming..

I'm sure a lot of you are like me and have been watching UCI DH for a long time (myself not really that long at 11 years) but I have really enjoyed a great 10 round season this year. It starts to dawn on me after the final round that we start to lose some of my favourite riders due to no longer having the pace to make finals or upcoming retirement.

I'm really going to miss riders I have grown up watching, I know everyone loves to look forward to the future (Asa, the Alran twins, Rosa etc) but I really do miss seeing Camielle, Monika Hrastnik, Danny Hart, Laurie Greenland, Reece Wilson etc up there.

I guess none of us are getting any younger but seeing the speed at which World Cup downhill is changing is incredible. Here's to a great 2025 season and I'm sure with some new tracks and locations next year will be even better!

Gracey's crash was way worse than it looked from the broadcast (if that's possible) Lucky to get away relatively unscathed from that.

Shame for the Mens Elites to finish the way it did, but awesome season!

I watched it Sunday morning with a hangover, and the wife and I were looking at each other like WTF, actually we were looking like Jackson on the hot seat lol.
After seeing Loic in the interviews, he looked like he had really beaten himself up already. What a way for his season to finish. feel gutted for him, but he could barely walk.

Rampage weekend. Can't ever get excited about Rampage. Brendog was robbed etc. etc. The judged format leads to tedious controversy every year, the very nature of it ensures riders get hurt & then there's the Polyannaish commentary. Not for me.

I'm just not big on any event that is subject to judging. However Brendon did get robbed and last few years produced not only what I felt were the best lines due to Lad Science that were well ridden but also the YT vid's on the work that goes into the whole event. And you have to admit that the terrain is gnarly.......
