• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Just wanted to add my experience using this service as well. He completed the firmware switch remotely on a gen5 system. It took roughly 10 minutes and cost was 180eur.
He doesn't have a solution for firmware switch for the 45km/h ?

It's exclusive for the Bosch Gen Speed ?

Does anyone know if the latest Bosch Flow firmware update for gen4 with ebike+ has any extra derestriction detection? Specifically wondering if anyone is running it OK with a Speedi

I have been driving 150km gen5 with the new update installed and badassbox. I only got 750w update. Haibike dont allowed the NM update yet.

what do you do connect the remote/mini remote to computer via USB C and install TeamViewer? and how was payment made? any idea of the options?
20mph seems pretty decent, fast enough for 20mph urban roads and a speed you can sprint to anyway so probably wouldn't raise suspicion if an unmarked car were behind you

Hi all, used to run Speedi on my old Cube but it doesn't fit my new bike so im looking at either getting another Speedi or possibly trying a chip.

Any information on the SpeedFun Furious Evo easy+ for Bosch Smart System? I don't have rim magnet and never had issues with the Speedi but that extra bit of speed would be nice with a chip.

if you dont have rim magnet go for VOLspeed Ebike Tuning

I did look at that and I used to have it on my old Yamaha Haibike few years back but the price is ridiculous on it these days. I paid similar price to this Speedfun and Speedi back then for it.

If the Speedfun does the same thing as Volspeed id rather save the £50-80 haha.

That's the question, volspeed is good in terms of errors. The question is how good is speedfun. The last thing you want is to have errors and block the bike.

£150 to make a £5000+ e-bike ten times more fun:)
I think Volspeed is more £200 when I checked. The other one is £135 and Speedi is a little over £100.

That was why I posted, to ask how good it was if anyone had any experience with it 😀

Volspeed V2 (not rim magnet) is £177.43 on Amazon UK at the moment.

Is the US firmware in english and can you still use flow app to make adjustments etc.

Thanks

no chance, the module just came out, bosch will let you drive 200km without errors and then start errors
the fact that the module is working for someone now means nothing

I wonder if it has occurred to Bosch that if they make deristricting so difficult people will just turn to Amflow/DJI as the Chinese manufacturers couldn't give a duck, so far, for local idiosyncrasies.

I think people that want to de restrict are a very small percentage of Boschs market so probably won't affect their sales at all.

Vpn is not needed. All is done via Teamviewer. Every update will delete the option to change speed so make the update before you ask start this process. Somebody wrote here that update under US ip address it also works but don't take this risk. That Polish guy have probably holidays, did you send him message ?

I had the update done from the polish guy this Monday. Write to him on the olx website or via Whatsapp on the number displayed there on his banner. He did say he was on vacation, so the scheduling was a bit tricky, but in the end the whole thing took him just 20 minutes to complete.

Same experience as people already posted - I needed a laptop with installed Teamviewer and a USB-C cable. He also installed "vpn driver" inside Teamviewer settings. I tried first with high quality thick USB-C cable, capable of USB4, 40gbps, PowerDelivery, etc. and my bike didn't connect. After I swapped the cable for a cheap thin cable from a phone charger it connected OK, so I guess it only needs USB 2.0?

I can also report that after the update my Flow app stayed connected, all the history is still there, the odometer on the bike and the total mileage in the Flow app stayed, but the mileage in each mode got reset (the color bars). And as others have said, there is now a warning displayed each time I turn on the bike to "avoid distracted driving" and the bike always starts in OFF mode, instead of the last mode it was in. That's a small inconvenience to pay for the bike to go faster.

Thanks for the details of having the app updated with a faster speed: "I had the update done"

I assume that the update is for a country that has higher speed configuration. Do you know what country the update if for?
