Bright red headlamps for night riding?

Do these exist? I can only find astronomy flashlights. Would it be a problem with proper perception if you used red lights to maintain better night vision?

Talking about trail use, obviously wouldn't use them on the road since that would be confusing for others.

Many headlamps have red lights. I haven't found one that is super bright. I have used them in the past backcountry skiing for ascents; however, switching over to high powered white light for descending.

Alright so a little bit of research suggests that red does dimish detail, and also that red lights bright enough for night riding are still going to significantly reduce night vision. Never mind!
