2026 Santacruz Bullit Owners - Setup - Tricks - Discussion

I have the Topeak gauge in this link. This older one works better than their updated one. No air loss with the Fillmore valves

Good to know thanks! Will prob get one

Hey guys.

Got the Bullit in November but just found this forum recently. Tons of great information! Here is my bullit.

Here it is after the wash and my old bike looking jealouse in the back ground:

I am now running Schwalbe radial magic marys dh casing.

Im about 120kg with gear.

With the shock you guys recommend for heavier riders to skip the x2 and just go straight to a coil instead? and generally Ohlin's seems to be the go?

Just bought the CC model after selling all my other bikes. Any of you have enough time on the low and high settings to provide any feedback on which you prefer and why?
I’ve had my bullet for just over six months and have run in the high setting the whole time, I’m in Denver, Colorado, and we have so many chunky rocks that it’s hard to run a low bottom bracket without smashing your pedals all the time.

Hi everyone, thanks to a 48% discount I bought an ochain for e-bike and yesterday I was able to try it out well on rocky terrain, my first feeling is excellent, firmer pedals, less foxes in the legs, for me it is an excellent upgrade that I recommend, as will certainly be the new E*13 or DT hubs, which have the advantage of requiring less maintenance, for 165 euros and 10 minutes of work in my garage, I can consider myself satisfied

I bought a spare XS-1275 for my Bullit. I noticed only the outer ring is dark compared to stock cassette.
Curious if that's just cosmetic or a material difference?
Is that just an OEM vs aftermarket thing or was there a change?

I notice on Ally Express (didn't buy from them) that they show both offerings. Kinda seems like just a color thing rather than material difference. But I still wonder?

Hey everyone,

Just ordered a c70, going to swap brakes for hopes, forks to my 38 Smashpot and bars over, I’ve got a 2022 unused fox dhx2 I was going to put on. Question is, is the factory default setup ok or will it need a custom tune? What progression are you running? I’m about 88kg kitted up and thinking a 500 spring?

And finally anyone got a bash guard solution for it?

Ive got a Dhx2 on my c70 as well. The fox factory recommended settings for the shock i found way too soft for the bullit. I emailed Santa cruz customer service over it and they said to use the settings off the Santa Cruz suspension calculater for the Bullit using the Fox float X2 Factoryas your guideline. I based mine off weight for the spring rate to find the settings the X2 uses because i use a 450 spring for my 74kg, I found those settings to be bang on for the dhx2 on the Bullit. I use the HI progression flipper, prefered the feel of it over the low and it seems to suit coil better

I've seen a few things around with Bullit and Vala where the mini controller has left marks on the top tube where users have swapped them out for the kiox display :(
I just did the swap and I do have those marks :(. That’s a bummer. Curious if there is a way to remove them?

I live in Texas where the summers are HOT! I hate backpcks or fanny packs. I want to install a Nalgene 32 oz bottle and holder. It fits, but the resevoir hits when the suspension compresses. Can you flip the Float X2 upside down with out any negative effects? This would allow me to run the bigger bottle.

You cannot, it is a trunion mount shock. Fwiw, I ride an XL and I can get a 30oz zfal magnum water bottle to fit by using a wolftooth morse cage. I cannot make a 30oz water bottle fit using the range extender bottle cage however.

Hey Guys... I own a 22' Bullit that's heavily modified and love it. I'm looking to upgrade to the new model eventually but am worried about the 170 rear travel and no options that I know of to increase it. I'm at 180 travel front and 185 rear now with an over stroked coil and the cascade link. I ride a lot of gnarly trails in the Bellingham, WA area and was maxing out the stock travel. The suspension is dialed now. I weigh 170 lbs also.. I'm hoping cascade link will develop one for this bike eventually. I emailed them and they said it's on the drawing board but no eta. My plan would be to get the base model and pretty much upgrade everything like I did to my version 3. I'm curious if I'd experience the same maxing out the shock issue on the v4. Has anyone ran into this issue? If I could run 180 front and stay with the 170 rear with a good shock I'm wondering if I'd be happy with that. Thanks!

Here’s a new issue. Yesterday during a longish ride (including some loose rocky trails and steep forest sections) a rear triangle pivot bolt…. Just unscrewed itself and left the chat. I started hearing tyre rub under compression, similar to what you hear when there’s a good bit of mud or a stick stuck somewhere. I looked, couldn’t identify anything, and was in the middle of the forest, so had to continue down.
I was lucky that there’s a small bike repair shop in the village at the bottom; took us like 10 minutes to figure it out -noticed the bolt gone, so under compression the wheel would go sideways and rub the inside of the frame. Results: the tyre rubbed through the Ridewrap, then through the paint, all the way down to raw carbon :/

VERY not happy - lucky I didn’t crash and hurt myself. The bike has 250km on it, mostly pedaling uphill on smooth tarmac to get me to the trails, pretty much new. Did they ran out of Loctite in the factory? Or was the torque wrench missing?

I sent a ( somewhat angry) warranty claim :(

Anyone switched to Ohlins suspension, I've got some forks and a air shock heading me way so curious about anyone having any experience on their Bullit. Cheers.

How easy are brake swaps? I killed the stock Mavens (crash) and am going to swap over a pair of Hayes I have on hand.

I'm wondering if there's full tube-in-tube routing for the rear, or if not, are there tips for quickly routing the hose? Couldn't find anything on the SC site. Hopping not to have to pull the motor/battery.

I did, seems to have in-tube routing, easy.

Same damn think happened to me. Good luck finding a bolt. I had to call Santa Cruz and get one shipped since the $150 bolt pack I bouth took 5 weeks!

I hope I didn't mess up anything incsme down into some tech and noticed the tire rubbing but couldning stop right away. I almost crashed.

Theres a special insert nut on the inside so check that didn't fall out you'll most likely need that also.

Update: luckily there’s a Santa Cruz dealer not too far (kudos to Chrisbike in Les Gets!) and they got me a bolt the following day, just in time for pre-opening day of the bike park :) Meanwhile, I contacted Santa Cruz and in 6 days I had a new rear triangle bottom, along with the bolt. The famous Santa Cruz warranty definitely deserves its reputation. Fyi: 16 Nm and loctite for these bolts 😅
