2026 Santacruz Bullit Owners - Setup - Tricks - Discussion

Nice! Went somewhat similar route - bought the GX but that is getting swapped with XO by dealer. Have the X2 (but Perf Elite to match fork - not a huge Kashima guy). New Reverb AXS, Magura Gustav Pros, Saddle, and some other goodies waiting on the workbench for it to arrive next week!

How do you like the Switchmix setup with the new brakes?

I am using a 250mm cable. Santacruz adjusted the FAQ to provide the direction on this. FWIW, my LBS and I tried the 150mm cable on my XL and it fits, but it's way too tight for comfort in my opinion.

They work for me but if I wanted to adjust lever angle then my shifters would be in the wrong place. I guess I’m in the intended operation zone by chance.
 
I’m looking at buying a powermore for my incoming Bullit. There are 2 cables available BCH3923 and BCH3925 Anyone know what one do I need.

As far as I know, I started with the 150mm recommended cable and it was like just a hair too short. Was taught and hard to plug in. That did not seem a good thing given the beating these take. So i ordered the 250mm which is about 3.9” longer. You can kind of lay the cable on the frame and i think its better

Those are the choices as far as i know
 
Just took mine out for a proper shakedown. Chain snapped after about 15 minutes. Serves me right for trying to re-use a chain that I had shortened incorrectly.

Additional cable required to connect battery to charging port either BCH3923 for a cable that leaves away from the battery or BCH3925 that leaves the battery up from the battery.

The above is the choice I’ve been given. Both are available in 150 and 250mm.
Also mine is a medium so perhaps the 150 would be a better fit

Bullit v4 - Inserts?

Guys, I have my name down for large Bullit XO hopefully incoming early next month.

I like to charge steep, rocky, rooty, single track in Scotland and don’t really do bike park. I have used inserts (Tannus) on my Whyte emtb with alloy rims for the past 4 years and feel they have served me well, having very few issues other than I HATE dealing with them when changing tyres. Also, on most of the trails I tend to lap, my van is usually not so far away and I only do one or two long expeditions a year.

Im aware the Bullit has DD tyres and of course SC’s warranty on the carbon reserve rims I will have on my incoming spec.

My question - I have the option of taking the Vittoria new air liner inserts with the bike but I’m torn as to whether i should take them with the new build. I’m not a super low pressure guy (19/23psi) and I’m certainly not hard on the front end, sometimes the rear though. I can’t really say i have ever felt any performance type benefits from inserts but I like the comfort knowing that if I get flat I can get back to the van. (I carry a plug kit but dont like carrying a spare tube)

Thoughts or advice if I should just get them for piece of mind or will the DD/Carbons Rims be a decent enough setup?

I’d say you have everything you need there to NOT need to run inserts, and you haven’t described any benefits 🤣

You’ll be fine. Once you’re done with that tyre just put a DH casing on. More faff than they’re worth on e-bikes.
 
I'm 85 KG / 185 lbs and run EXO+ FR&RE on all my bikes with this setups :
Ebike - Carbon HXC1501 + Tannus
Enduro bike - FR541 + Tannus
DH Bike - Ethirteen crap + Cushcore
trail bike that I sold - EX511 + Tannus (beat the crap out of that bike, the rims were dead straight when I've sold it)

All bikes running the same pressure - 18-19 psi front , 20-22 psi in the back .

NEVER had a flat and don't care on my lines, so fixing flats is one thing completely out of my mind. Ride quite chuncky terrain.

Haven't tried DD tyres, only DH tyres once in the past and I JUST HATED them when it was time to mount or unmount. With Tannus, if you use some soapy watter and a car tyre it takes like 10 minutes or less to mount them.

As I don't swap tyres often, mostly due to wear I just don't mind them so not sure why the hate as weight wise, I'm on par with DD or DH tyres but I could somehow understand if you change tyres often but to me, inserts are the smallest issue, the tubeless liquid is the elephant in my room.
 
Dumb question: where is the serial number on the frame?

Finally collected mine on Saturday afternoon, spent most of that evening and yesterday sorting out bits on it and it’s ready to go for the first laps today, stoked on it.

Changed brakes to shigura XTR / MT5 and put a 220 HS2 rotor on the front
Swapped out bars and stem to Burgtec stem / OneUp bar, changed the saddle and grips and stuck a High Roller 3 DH casing on the front as the weather looks naff for the next few weeks. Rimpact insert in the rear for the DD DHR2.

150mm powermore cable doesn’t reach the Range extender on a medium so have a 250mm for now. Hopefully Bosch come out with a 200mm option.

Haven’t bothered weighing it, it’s my first e-bike so even the eco/trail modes are a complete novelty to me.

Only thing I’d consider getting for it in the future would be an AXS dropper but would like to see if someone can slam a 200mm in a medium frame.

Large Bullit - Max seatpost insertion length?

Apologies if this has already been discussed but does anyone have a definitive figure on the max seatpost insertion length on size large Bullit?

Santa Cruz website does not appear to detail this.

Don’t know but i slammed a 225mm AXS REverb ion mine
 
Does anyone know if there's anything stopping you from using the bottle cage mount holes to fit the powermore bracket?

They are slightly further down the downtube compared to the powermore holes, so may allow you to use the 150mm cable.

The RE will collide with your shock. If thats not stopping you then do it. ;)
 
Another big mission yesterday with my buddy, both of us on bullits. 27 miles, 6,900' of elevation gain all using emtb and boost, about 50/50 distribution. I finished with 1 red bar and he finished with 1 orange. (he weighs 40ish lbs less than I).

Currently 335 miles and 68,600' of elevation gain on my bullit so far and I officially smoked the rear tire and a set of rear brake pads. So far, so good.
 
On my first ride on it on Monday I managed 1608m / 5275ft over 45km / 28 miles - no range extender and I had 24% left.

Mostly fireroad and tarmac climbs with about 2-3 slightly steeper rockier climbs.

Wanted to see how close to 2000m I could get without the R.E but didn't take any food with me and got way too hungry so called it.

Mostly in eco and tour (as I was trying to preserve battery and reach 2000m) then emtb for the descents - only used turbo a few times.

I'm probably 76-78kg kitted up - need to lose some timber and get fitter / stronger to really make the most out of it!

So I am a new Bullit owner! I am 205lbs, 6'3" and ride an XL, first ride I did 3608' elevation and 13.3miles toggling all of the power modes and when I finished the ride I had 29% battery remaining.
