The electric bike shop in Shirley (Birmingham) has started accepting trade ins. As long as the bike works you’ll get £100 off a new ebike.

I'd definitely Google this before making a decision

Winstanley's are doing 750w/hr Cube Stereos well south of £3k. Lots of value in there, even after upgrading the cheap parts.

Keep thinking about this bike, if I were in for one, I'd swap the jockey wheels & shifter for XT or £60 quid ish & the fork for something decent 2nd hand for a couple of hundred, better tyres & you've got yourself a genuine high quality trail weapon for around £3k. It's very tempting.

Agree with you, exactly what I thought. Oh, and something more comfortable to rest my arse on.

Or just buy this one instead:

Worth the upgrade.

They're not the same thing. Your link is enduro focused, the one I put up is more trail. It's a matter of preference obvs but they are different machines. Oh & it's cheaper again at MTB monster.

But you said you'd buy one then upgrade the parts. Cheaper just to buy the SLX with all the upgrades you were planning.

I did & in my head, the upgrades I would do would bring in a bike I'd be happy with for around £300 less than the 160. Not a hill I'm particularly willing to die on but I'm not especially interested in running a Zeb & know that I can turn that Deore drive train into XT for pennies, so it works for me. It's academic anyway as I'm happy with my Focus.

Didn't post here but Canondale has $2000 USD off their Moterra line.
I picked up the Carbon 1 for $6500 USD with bosche CX, 750wh, XT/XTR, kiox 300 etc..

The uplands are sunlit. Jackets not required. 🥳
Yeah, went out yesterday (South Downs), hit 14C and more in the sunshine, very silly mid-February temperature but not complaining. 👌 Good job had a rucksack with me to stow my jacket and removed top layer! Long sleeve T would have been fine.

So they are. Not surprised at that price.
Here in Germany prices for the Cube Stereos 2023 models are going down and you find lots of offers like yours. I feel lucky to have a 2022 model, prices had been significantly increased for 2023, and discounted 2023 prices are not much below non negotiable 2022 prices. So hopefully not to much loss when swappimg to new bike. And hey, there is still that 100 GBP offer! 😉
