Pivot Amp’d Avinox

I can confirm that the battery easily comes out when you remove the heat sink on the motor (just three more screws after you remove the cover). I swapped in a better set of brakes and pulling the battery revealed that there is a nice cable management system inside the tube. One tip for those on the same path, loosen the three mounts/screw (two for the bottle cage 6mm and the third below it). This loosens the cable management bracket so you can slide in the new cable easily. Very nice system. This is my second Pivot. They always get the small details right.

Interesting. So just the motor bash plate then the heatsink screws, and 2x battery screws? That’s a 5 min job if that?

So,did you see any reason a 600wh won’t fit in there? My Lbs told me it’s not possible .
After looking at Avinox site maybe the bike shop is correct. Which would suck.

Dimensions (L×W×H)
Avinox FS600 Battery - 434.5 mm × 72.61 mm × 50.17 mm
Avinox FS800 Battery - 560.4 mm × 71.52 mm × 49.08 mm

Surely there would be room for 1mm, but maybe not, would need a special mount to take up the shorter length too maybe.

Yes, my Push fork is setup at 170mm. Ride great
Did you make changes to the rear? I'm going between Amp'd and LT. What was your primary purpose for going 170? And are you running in high pivot setting to keep geo similar? Very helpful to hear 170 works well... but if it's travel issue what'd you do to the rear? I'm so torn on these bikes. Thanks

To me, it is very unlikely that FS600 won't fit instead of FS800 ... This ~1mm difference should be compensated with a factory battery mount ... Battery itself should never be so tight that it touches the frame, but it must have some kind of mount/plastic spring between the battery housing and the frame so that battery does not rattle inside the tube ...

So it seems you must remove the battery to run a new brake line? Unlike the turbo levo where you can just push it through all the way and you don’t even need to remove the port cover! (That was brilliant!)

You can still push it through without removing the battery. That’s what I did initially. It just likely won’t make it through the cable guide, so it could potentially rattle.

I wanted to add some soft tubing and it wouldn’t slide in so I removed the battery and I found the cable guide. It holds the cable tight and does not rattle, no need for tubing.

Honesty, it’s so easy to remove the battery I would not recommend skipping that part.

Yes, Pivot have them in stock. Took about 2 mins to fit to the battery, and 5mins more to pop in the bike, and away we went, and 1kg weight lost! All I need for many rides. Running two different rear shocks too, one Float X chocked down to ~152mm, and the other an Ext Storia V4 coil at the full 160mm+.
Superb bike.
why chocked down to 152? What do you gain? Thanks

I just simply didn't need quite so much travel for much of the riding, so by reducing the travel, and increasing the volume token volume, it makes the rear suspension more poppy and progressive than stock. It makes a difference for sure.
Then, for bigger trips, easy to whip the travel reducer out and reduce the volume spacers to make more linear and plush.

I would like to demo an Amp’d but in my next bike will likely be a longer travel like the LT. I’m just not buying a Bosch though so the next one likely won’t be a Pivot. It’s a shame because my Phoenix area location makes me gravitate towards Pivot.
I'm in same boat, and overanalyzing geo and travel (guess that's what Forums are for though). In Looking at Amd'd geo, it's every bit as aggressive as LT except for wheelbase by 15mm and travel by 10mm (0.39 inches). What am I missing?

That's helpful. Didn't think of that type of flexibility. Thanks for reply

No worries. The bike has so much adaptability (chainstay length, reach adjustment, high/low, and seat angle), that this tweaking of the shock (and fork settings), and a lighter set of wheels and faster (not lighter, not worth it), it can make two very different riding bikes. It won't ever be as nimble as a true short travel eeb, but it gets very close.

I just swapped to a 600wh on an e-dreadnought from the 800wh.
The only dimension that's different is length. There was a mounting hole provided in roughly the shuttle pad area of the downtube to allow the 600wh to be secured. The 800wh was secured by a bolt that had to be accessed through the display hole in the frame.
If the mounting hole is provided by pivot, it should be possible.
The difference in perceived weight is substantial since it's all up high by the headset. Well worth doing, the fast charger takes care of any convenience concerns.

Where did you happen to buy the battery. They seem hard to come by in the US.

Pity Bosch don't do this too. Whilst the 600 is much lighter, it's also just as long. It would have been better to keep the same girth, but make it shorter, like Spesh have done with theirs, and then the CoG would be much lower, and unweight the front end nicely.

It is shorter.
The 800wh avinox is just really, really long. The price to be paid for fashion.

Fractionally, but it is also a narrower circumference so it could have been made much shorter. See the length difference between the Spesh 840 and 600....
True, but then bikes like the sc vala would have looked like they were smuggling 4x4 dimensional lumber in their downtubes. Bikes designed for the 800wh battery girth were quite pregnant looking.
Loved my 2025 crafty, but that downtube is just plain ugly.

Each to their own. I'd rather optimise handling before looks, and CoG matters a lot to handling. Agree some can look bulbous, but in the case of the Shuttle LT I just got, it's proportionate and pretty low profile, relatively speaking.

The Bosch 800wh is 430mm long and 3.9kg (8.6lb)

Avinox 800wh is 434.5mm long and 3.74 kg (8.25 lb).

You think 4.5mm more length (half of the width of your pinky) is gonna ride worse even though it’s also almost half a lb lighter?

I think the 800wh Avinox battery is a lot longer than that.
