120 Nm update for the Bosch CX and CX Race Announced

Thanks for the info. I thought that was the case and ordered a new Garmin Edge MTB last night. I’ve been waiting for Garmin integration with Bosch since I purchased the bike. I had it on my Shimano and TQ bikes and have missed it since.
I tried to pair to my edge MTB but no luck, no updates on garmin

I am at a loss as to how to find and install the 120NM firmware update. Can anyone provide the link and instruction please? I have a Yeti Lte with the Kiox. Thanks!

You might not be able to, yet. Bosch is rolling out the update incrementally. If all seven billion Bosch riders were to update their motors at 12:00 a.m. on May 4, their servers would implode faster than Prince Andrew's reputation.

My Edge MTB just showed up. It isn’t pairing either. Everyone is on the Avinox bandwagon. I like my Bosch motor, but if they can’t even handle something as simple as updating their software, they are gonna continue to lose traction to the likes of Avinox. I realize this may be a Garmin issue, but either way, Bosch has done a horrible job with this software rollout.

First ride with the update.
Trek Rail Gen5 2025

While the 120 is a noticeable improvement the drain on the battery is worrying. I decided on my 20+ mile ride to knock it back to 110 in EMtb + and 100 in Tour+

There's more to just numbers here and some tweaks and changes will be required to have the correct setup for what I need.

I'd like to see some profiles and guidance from Bosch and maybe develop a touch screen display we can do on the bike rather than drag the phone out while on a ride.

Annoyingly it did show up on my stats on the flow app yet showed my miles had gone up. I purposely done wheelies and jumps 🙄 This isn't the first time it hasn't logged a ride and is definitely a bug 🪲 Thankfully I always log my rides on my watch ⌚

I thought I'd share here for others to add their experiences

Trek rail 5 here also, first ride yesterday. Bike felt better after the update but need to set the different ride modes up again.

Just checked flow app and ride is also missing.

It’s a new update, I’d expect some bugs but they’ll have it sorted.

Do you guys like the flow app? I kind of hated it when I had Bosch bikes. I think they need to rework that whole app. The specialized one is pretty good. Avinox is ok but with multiple Avinox bikes you have to unpair/re-pair bikes which is pretty annoying too.

The Flow app is no Strava killer. It's like trying to work with a program made for Windows 95.

Make things a better experience rather than chasing numbers.

I’m like 50% positive my wife has an app called flow to track her periods 😂

Eh whatever. Glad you guys seem to be liking the update. I wouldn’t stress little stuff yet. I’ll bet in a week or two they’ll have another update to fix bugs. Avinox has the same crap going on. Multiple updates have already been put out to fix issues

I had the update this morning available, did install it and I get the warning about drivetrain wear. But I still don't see 120 Newton meters in the race mode. I don't actually intend on utilizing it unless I'm climbing at the bike park. But I would like to experiment with it.

Same.

Again, Shitty roll out Bosch. If you say something is ready.... make it ready. Its not that hard. Update the apps in the the play stores before the update live
Compared to what, the Levo 4 experience

If on Android try clearing the app data and cache. Reopen app and login. You should see a prompt to download further update

2025 Cube stereo Hybrid One77 (CX Gen5) - Did the latest update (had to delete the app & reinstall). Doesn't look like I can get the 120nm, however could increase power to 750w????? I'll be a bit gutted if the torque upgrade isn't available. 😭

In my opinion this Bosch update 2.0 in reality its an update 1/2.

If we check it right,
- 12 amp charger will be available by the end of 2026;
- chain restrain feature will be available mid (?) 2026;
- 600% support only up to 15kh;
- 120nm only for some modes;
- and finally data to external display (garmin interface) is a joke,

take a look to some of the data that can be exchanged:
  • Light status
  • Ambient brightness
  • Light reserve mode
  • Status of eBike Lock
  • Charger connected
  • Bosch Diagnostic Tool connected
They must be joking!
If you are riding the bike what is the sense of knowing your charger is not connected? It cannot be connected!
And the damn Bosch Diagnostic Tool?

Regards

Yesterday I checked the Play Store and it was showing 1.34 today is is showing 1.35.6

What day is it?
May 6th... 2 days after, and we're still seeing all this?

Those that work at Bosch's Press Release/Communication/etc, should have respect internal comments, and should definitely learn how to handle customer expectations...

We need more RANT! Ahahaha

Still SOL on my Pivot Shuttle AM. Looking at the Shuttle AM FB group, it looks like no one has managed to get the 120 nm update. We have all done the initial update and then uninstalled/reinstalled (wouldn't be surprised if I have done it 15 times) and there is no secondary update banner. Pivot has been talking to me about this, but I think they are unaware of the steps, or at least the customer service rep I am interacting with.

Not sure where have you taken such information from but it's not correct/accurate. The main points that are missing from your list are:

-Power
-Cadence

Which are what most riders need most. Did you even have it installed on your Garmin or are you just fuming based on Internet browsing? If you had you'd see the Power/Cadence being available in your Garmin activities.

The manufacturer needs to approve the "update" which I would expect they did so prior to the Bosch launch. That should be a fairly simple question for them to answer. Is the updated power approved or not?

I have a NORCO and they posted on IG late on the 4th regarding the Performance 2.0 update. On my device, it took a little over 24 hrs from updated the Flow App to recieving the power update.

I started a post on a FB group and one of Pivot's employees confirmed they are having an issue getting it to sync to my model and are working with Bosch. I'll just have to be patient I suppose.

The 2.0 Flow update is proving to be a nightmare for me. I made the mistake of attempting to delete the old flow app in order to install the new version (1.35.4) as required to access the 2.0 App update, only to encounter an impossible loop where in attempting to register the bike with the new app, the software identifies that the bike is previously registered and the bike must be deleted in order to re-register the bike. I followed the instructions to delete the old bike to no avail. I am caught in a catch 22 and have given up after 2 days of trying. I have found the Bosch system to be way too complicated
( I also own a AMflow PL/ Avinox and Specialized Levo 4). In comparison this Bosch system is too complicated IMO and un-intuitive. In practice I find the power delivery to be less fluid than either Avinox or Specialized. As such, I am sadly considering selling my 26' Yeti LTE. Love the Yeti frame and geometry, but the Bosche system is just too difficult. Grrrr!

My bike Yeti LTE
I had to delete the app & reinstall. Got the upgrade May 4th. Slide the sliders from 100nm to 120nm. Notice a slight improvement in power and consumption. Before update in my local riding area in EMTB+ at 0,0. 1hr drained about 48% of 800wh batt. With update Same settings in EMTB+ 0,0 1hr about 55% of 800wh batt used.

I heard to get 600% you had to slide support to +5. Went out the next day EMTB+ +5,0. Wow, a very noticeable difference in power, quite honestly way too powerful! In 1hr I used 65% of 800wh. For me, too much power & way to battery hungry.

Today I’ll go out with all my modes at 120nm, but 0,0 except turbo +5,+5.
The modes I like to set: tour+, EMTB, EMTB+ & turbo.

Hi there,
I said some of the data.
The complete list is
  • Riding speed
  • Rider’s own effort
  • Cadence
  • Total distance
  • Standstill detection
  • Time
  • Light status
  • Ambient brightness
  • Light reserve mode
  • Status of eBike Lock
  • Charge level of the ebike battery
  • Charger connected
  • Bosch Diagnostic Tool connected
You can take a look at

Nevertheless, just the Riders own effort is really new, unless you also have a Garmin power metter.

Good info to tune your assistance level. So -5 on eMTB+ or Turbo would be 300% of assistance if i understand this correctly

Maybe best advice is for folks to just be patient and let the process play out... if in a day or two it doesn't update (Bosch warns 24 hrs from Flow App update to power update). Contact your bike manufacturer and/or Bosch.
