Pivot Amp’d Avinox

Sweet bike, I just ordered the exact same color and the pro version. I’m short 5/3 so I got the
XS. Finally got a bike that actually fits me. My YT decoy is a little big for me. I had a Cannondale killer V hard tail that fit perfectly but that was a long time ago. How you liking the bike, any issues?
Like it more each time I ride it and get more used to it. Very flickable for what it is. I guess I trust it, so it makes me ride more confidently.

No issues, other than the Mavens being Mavens. I'm coming from XTR's on my other bike so still getting used to them. Also, @USD12K I think the Pro version should come with carbon hoops, but I can't really tell any difference on the trail.

I just did the Maven lever upgrade and what a noticable difference. Worth it

I have the amp’d gx build coming soon. Pretty excited! My lbs said they talked to Pivot and were told the 600wh battery will not fit. I’m hoping someone can prove them wrong. If someone manages to do this I need all the details!

I’m building this up to be very light and the battery is the only thing holding me back..

Just picked up my XL AMP'd in the PRO build its right around 52 pounds. A little disappointed tbh. Looking for ways to bring the weight down starting with some Carbon wheels, lighter tires, carbon bar/stem. Curiuous what the lightest build AMP'd out there is? Anyone actually around 47lbs??

What weight are you hoping to build it to? Super curiuos about a 600wh battery also. My pro build is around 52lbs right now, unfortunately (XL).

Forget about 600wh RE, it is too large/heavy anyways, to me it looks like a bad joke ... Smaller Avinox RE is rumored for Q3, be patient 🤞

One more data point, I just weighed my Pro build, size MD. 52.1 lbs ready to ride with Fidlock bottle, OneUp EDC pump/tools/tire repair, Race Face Atlas alloy pedals, bear bell and gravity casing Schwalbe radials.

FWIW I think it rides way lighter than it is.

Pretty sure I can get to 47lbs. Was really hoping for 45lbs.. I know I could get it to 45 with the smaller battery.
Got my gen 3 levo to a shade over 50. But then I put a coil on it! Honestly rode better.

I'm tempted to throw a FOX 36 on it (600+ grams lighter than the ZEB) to see how it rides...

What build gets it to 47 IMO?

Funny, I’m thinking of going the other way on my Shuttle AM because the 36s are so underwhelming

I tried calling the North America line today. I let it ring for 2 minutes. No answer. No answering machine. That helped me make up my mind. Ya, they are at Sea Otter but leave someone to answer the phones.
I called to order a part from them after talking in chat to verify part number and price and my call was answered in 2 rings and placed my order. They even advised to throw in something to get free shipping over $50. The part is arriving in 2 days with a clearance tshirt after checking with 3 local dealers that didn’t have the part. Always had a positive experience with Pivot customer support. My wife had a rear triangle replaced after verification of a fatigue crack with local dealers in a week.

So their customer service is hit or miss. Nice to know. Thanks. I'll try again.

Moving to carbon on the crank on pro build saves some weight

I think if you REALLY want a 600wh battery, you are better off choosing a bike that offers that from the factory. Wild, Amflow, Regulator, Vala, Crestie, etc. I too wanted a 600 wh battery and a narrow frame, so my Wild fit the bill in that way and in many others.

With a high-end trail build any of the 160mm front travel bikes can weigh 46#s ready to ride. My Bosch Wild weighs 48.6#s, with lots of heavy parts (i.e. dual coil suspension, DH wheels & tires, electronic dropper and shifting) so I assure you that it can be done.

Has anyone set-up their Pivot AMP'd with a 29" rear wheel and compared the two 27.5 MX vs. 29 rear? If so, how tall are you and what kind of riding? I'm 6'4 with an XL frame and super curious how it rides with a 29 rear.

I just bought a 600whr battery for more of a trail build on Unno Mith and it weighs circa 19.4kg I could scrape a bit more off with lighter pedals & saddle. A 600whr battery lasts me fine for circa 35miles as ride in Ecco & auto and I don’t do > 35miles in a ride.

I have a 29 rear wheel on order for my Amp’d, so I can pass along my impressions in a couple of weeks.

What I can say now after riding a variety of trails including now in the Moab/Canyonlsnds area is that the 27.5 rear is great for smoother conditions but is harsher on the ledges and potholes here compared to previous experiences here on full 29ers. I’ve also been getting a higher number of pedal scrapes and strikes due to the low bottom bracket (336mm on a medium). I think a 29 rear would be better but I can’t yet say how it would affect overall handling.

It's decidedly a trail build but wow the weight! I'm not seeing much chub on her, but with the right drive train you could drop another 300 grams or so.

But yes, it proves my point, with a high-end trail build and a 600wh battery, any of these non-HP CF e-bikes can be quite lightweight.

Look forward to your review. My XL should be here in a couple weeks. I don’t like the look of a mullet, but apparently it works.😎

Can someone please confirm what kind of 34T chainring is installed on this bike? Is it 104BCD mount? Because on my current bike I run 32T chainring paired to 11-50T cassette and I would not mind having even greater reduction (32T to 52T) for steepest terrain (more speed on flat terrain is not my preference), now I'm thinking going to 32T chainring also on Ampd because it will make about 4mm more bottom clearance, so I can maybe remove this ugly granny chain guard completely and save a few grams ...

My Google AI buddy says:

“The 2026 Pivot Shuttle AMP'd features a 104 mm BCD chainring interface. [1, 2, 3]
The e-bike is powered by the Avinox M2S drive unit, which utilizes an integrated 4-arm spider with a standard 104 BCD spacing. The complete factory builds ship stock with a 34T or 36T SRAM Eagle Transmission E-MTB chainring mounted directly to this 104 BCD spider”

Have you had a good test ride on the Shuttle Amp’d? It’s going to be unlike your “current bike” (in a good way 😁). Unless you’re worried about pedaling out on a dead battery or prefer to use very low assist levels, the 34t ring should be fine. I have >250 miles and >17,000 ft climbing on mine, and the 52t cog has not seen the chain and the second cog only on miss-shifts. At mid-assist levels cog 3 will allow controlled speeds in the 0-3 mph range and will get you up walls. Even at Moab/Canyonlands this past week I tended to punch over most steep and uneven sections in cog 4. The Avinox M2S motor is a beast, but it has smooth, well controlled manners over a wide range of cadence and torque input. This is likely due to a combination of the firmware and the 42 sector speed sensor and traction control. Plus you can tune responsiveness and overrun at each level. My concern is that a 32t chainring might take away some of the control, have a small effect on the bike’s anti-squat and anti-rise, as well as put more wear on the smaller cogs. The 34t ring is also great for the occasional shuttle at higher speeds with the max cutoff set to 28mph. I have a 29” superboost rear wheel on order, and I plan to keep the 34t chainring to use with it.
