Pre-order starts next month - Next Crestline Avinox frame set

Anyone got any insight into actual ship dates yet? Couple weeks away now so presumably shipping dates should start to firm up!?
Sea otter starts April 16, so probably not sooner than that right? Not too sure. No specifics have been put out yet

Like @PhoS said unless you have a big inseam 180, 210 is going to have too much post sticking out. I’m 5’10 using a pnw loam 175, i liked the silver post, otherwise i generally go oneup 180. I tried to put a 200 transfer on my old bullit and it was a no go. And im on a rh3
I have no problem fitting a 210 oneup dropper on my Megatower V2. Why is it so different on the Crestline?

this whole dropper length discussion is basically just a math problem everybody that attended school should be able to solve on their own

you know your current saddle height, you know the frame height, the max insertion and the length of the seatpost. why is that a problem for so many?

Well pre-order shipping email stated early April, so hoping for that! Get warmed up for the Bike Parks this summer!

I had 150 cranks initially, sized up to 160. Still couldn’t run longer than 180 post. The issue is the longer post insertion, if the post insertion length was the same i could run a 200, but when you have the added length on both ends you can’t insert it far enough.

Also full builds available on crestline site 👀
Check out the 200mm offering from Wolf Tooth. It has a much lower insertion length. I posted about this a few back. Seems to be the best solution for those on an RH3 around 6' tall looking for max riser and being able to get as close as possible to fully slammed. One UP 210 mm insertion length 305 vs 271+ 20.2 (291.2mm) on the Wolf tooth. That's nearly an inch!

Anyone notice in the new releases he mentions a battery option between 600wh and 800wh, but doesn't (can't) actually say what it is?
I did notice that. I am hoping this lines up with rumors of higher density batteries coming from DJI.

The 200mm WT’s insertion length is 21mm longer than the 180 OU according to the specs online.

I'm comparing the 210mm vs the 200mm since this will provide the height needed for me. Haven't bothered looking at the 180.
The OU 180 has the same insertion length as the WT 200, on second glance.
And it's a bit suspect to me that OE doesn't list their insertion length and requires some math to sort out...

Gotcha, if you look close at the added 20mm’s for the cable connector, it’s 21mm’s longer from the collar down.

Its not. I added that and noted it in the math. its checks out . 271+20.2=291.2 vs 305. The WT has a shorter insertion by ~15mm. I am hopeful I can squeeze out a couple more mm with some creative cable routing. I like my seat slammed.

Talking of builds... it's odd that the Team Edition option states XO drivetrain, and includes a GX RD, a XX cassette, and a XO chain. The XX cassette seems like an expensive choice there.

just installed the DT DF upgrade kit to my Reserve wheels… Removing the existing hub threaded ring is much harder than instruction says… a rough battle

Well, I drank the Kool-Aid and snuck into the Forged carbon frames they dropped this morning, that color was too sexy to pass up. Will be selling my Forbidden Druid Core come June.
Got in on the forged carbon drop this morning too!

Does anyone know if the sizes have the same rear triangle for the 29 vs MX versions? The RH4 only had an MX option but the other sizes had both an MX and 29er option. I was hoping to use the 29er wheels from my current rig.

I have the same debate, to has coast shifting or not…
Btw I hear the xx 1195 cassette don’t handle ebike torque well…. But would love a short cage derailleur.
I’ve been running xx11 speed for years on my ebike, (Bosch cx race) without any issues.

Speaking for myself, this isn't "hard" per say but this is my first VPP bike and Ive always been able to put in the right dropper post without thinking about it on all my other bikes- well since droppers were invented at least. I've never bothered to measure my seat height. Having an adequate amount of seat post without too much stack height when lowered is a big deal. Not having the frame makes it hard to see what the stack on a lowered seat is. I thought it would be appropriate to come to a forum where people talk about these type of things and you know, talk about it. It seems that I am not the only one with this question either. But thank you for your helpful contribution to the discussion!

then ask the right question, all you people ask for is the length and then stating your height. your height has NOTHING to do with that, but your inseam length. 2 peope the same height can have seat heights differer by a more than a few centimeters.

OK - i have 31" inseam. RH3, OneUp V3 180 or 210, math whiz?

I currently have a reverb axs 200mm post I was going to use, but curious if it will be too long for me, sitting 15mm out of the frame. Kind of bummed it won't fit slammed into the frame but oh well.

really a bummer, this uncertainity, i hope you are going to cope. if only there was a method to find out for sure, right?

I know youre being sarcastic, but isnt the info everyone needs right on the website?? Add that with the saddle height on your current rig and you should know what you need.

I get it though, we all have this frame coming and want to make sure we are good to go when it arrives 😁. Allllllll that said, im not 100% sure if my 200mm neo with fit, so I grabbed a 175 just in case 😂😂

Do people outside of CA get dinged for state sales tax on their Crestie purchase price?

Not sure if it varies state to state, but I am in currently living Florida and didnt have any. IMG_6316.webp
yes, still involves math. and that seems like a huge obstacle for some here. or a lack of spatial imagination
With one of these on order, its also fun to talk about while we wait. However, I get excited when I see a notification for this thread. Then, when I see its another seat post comment, the excitement evaporates 😂. I guess Im adding to the fluff…
